It was a long day here.
My daughter and son-in-law
left here about 10:30 am.
His surgery was scheduled for 1pm.
Things got backed up as
often happens in a hospital setting.
He did not go in to surgery
until a little after 3pm.
They just finished his surgery
and said it went well.
There were no unexpected problems
and it appears that he
will recover in the hospital
during the next few days.
In about a month he will
have radioactive iodine
treatments and be in
TOTAL ISOLATION
for 96 hours.
After that-
It will just be a matter of getting
his meds regulated that will
replace the function of his thyroid.
Thank you for all your prayers.
and good wishes.
We all appreciate them.
I just wanted to let you know right away
what was going on.
Love you guys!!!
Thanks for the update Diana. I will continue to pray for him and his family.
ReplyDeletehugs,
Sissie

ReplyDeleteThat is great news. Sorry to hear about the delayed surgery time. I know all about this, as I had thyroid cancer. it has taken awhile to adjust my meds. He should be fine soon. I also decided against the Radioactive Iodine. You do have to stay away from everyone for a period of time. Always a long wait at hospitals. xo

Hugs,
Carol
So glad all went well and he's on the road to a full recovery.
ReplyDeleteGlad the surgery went well and that the follow-up takes care of the rest. I had 1/2 my thyroid taken out a couple of years ago because they thought it was cancerous, but it turned out to benign lumps. Still have to take higher doses of synthroid to make up for a nonworking thyroid.
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear the surgery went well, Diana, and we will keep your son in law in our prayers. Hugs to you, you've been through so much!
