While I was gone from blogland
I tried to get a lot of things
sorted out -including pictures.
Here are some I want to share
and then I can then file them.
MyHero had Valentine's Roses waiting for me
when I got home from my roadtrip.
His generosity in floral offerings
was only exceeded by his generous offering of
clothes waiting to be washed.
I might have lied exaggerated just a bit there.
Once again, like everyone else in this house,
the Christmas Cactus is confused.
Umm...it is February-
You are either really LATE blooming
or really early!
-but you sure are purty-
I swear that if there is a camera out in the city
my grandgirls rush it.
Here you see Ria and SweetCheeks
on the
FRONT COVER
of the local downtown promotional magazine.
They are standing there
with the mayor, Jim Schmitt.
The mayor looks like he wishes he could be
somewhere else.
Go figure!
Here's one of my favorite pictures of SweetCheeks.
Ignore the pink shoes above.
Now-look at the shoes below.
This is Lulu, Ria, SweetCheeks and Naomi
on vacation.
Anyone care to guess who is wearing the
WHITE SHOES?
Anyone? Anyone?
Anyone?
MyHero looked at the picture and said~
Oh! Look at Julia (SweetCheeks) making a LETTER J
with her shoes.
I said~ It looks to me like she is stepping on someone's toes!duh

Here's to a great Friday
and I hope that
NO ONE STEPS ON YOUR TOES
today!
Guess what?
I am working at the VA hospital again today.
I was only supposed to work two days a week
but they were short of help today.
Guess they know a sucker when they see one.
Have a great day!
enjoyed your pictures. Glad you and all your girls got home safe and sound. I'm still hoping we might hear about that white out you alluded to.
ReplyDeleteI wonder if sweet cheeks will loan you her cute pink converse.happy weekend!

ReplyDeleteSuch pretty soft pink roses! That man is a keeper despite the laundry! I've never seen a Christmas cactus bloom that well. How green is your thumb?

ReplyDeleteAww Diana you are too funny. I love the photo of the kids sneakers! Enjoy your new part time job and I know you will be perfect for it! Have a nice Friday and weekend and yes, reading books is so much fun and perfect to do on a cold day!
ReplyDeleteHugs, Julie
Diana, you're too funny! I love your roses; they're so pretty! Your Hero sounds like mine with the pile of laundry! I came home from the hospital and it was running out of the laundry shoot and basket. He said, he "wasn't out of clothes yet"! :) I know you'll have fun volunteering at the VA- what a great idea! You'll definitely keep them in stitches!
ReplyDeleteVolunteering at the VA sounds like a perfect fit for you!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful flowers, Diana! And very sweet kiddos. Our daughter was in Florida at Disney this past week too. I'm picking them up from the airport tomorrow morning. Pretty chilly temps down there but so much better than their -35 Windshill back at their home. They will spend Saturday and Sunday and head home, so we are thrilled to have a short visit with them.
ReplyDelete"...some I want to share
ReplyDeleteand then I can then file them."
??????? you keep all your photos, somewhere?
I post 'em and delete 'em. :-)
Your posts always make me giggle! =)
ReplyDeleteJeanine
Great pics, Diana. Hope the VA doesn't work you to death! Those roses your Hero gave you are so pretty. Guess what my hubby gave me for Valentine's Day? A bottle of water!!! Yep, you read that right! How romantic..........
ReplyDeleteMother always says, "I'm a sucker for a man in uniform." I guess you must be a sucker for a man OUT of uniform.
ReplyDeleteYou crack me up!
Hugs,
Kelley~
Love your pics! The shot of all the shoes was a cute idea, and the pile of laundry brings back memories!
ReplyDeleteYou are so good at weaving a story... Julia is such a pretty name.
ReplyDeleteLove all your Friday pics. They all made me smile. Glad you got called to work those peeps need you to brighten their day. You will make a big difference today in their lives. You go girl. Spread those angelic wings one more day. Have a great week end. We are going to warm up in the 20's this week end wooooo hooooo but then drop again. Short lived but I will take a few days of above zero. Have a great day my friend.
ReplyDeleteLove ya,
Kris
Those girls sure are cover girls! They steal the scene and nothing Mayor Schmidt would do would detract from them! Are you volunteering at the VA? Either way, good for you!
ReplyDeleteDeb
I love those pink shoes!! She is a trendsetter and super cute! Looks like pink is your color today! Glad to hear you are well enough to be working! :) That's great news!
ReplyDeleteI'm thinking it's not a sucker but a bright light and a giggle the step they see.
ReplyDeleteThe girls are simply famous! And adorable.
Diana, I left you a comment on my post today...and I really meant it from the heart. and appreciate you.
Jen
Your girlies are adorable, all of them!! Enjoy your 'I promise I'm not going to be there everyday' volunteer position!! Blessings!
ReplyDeleteOK speaking by observation, I'm going to say the endearing Diana with the wicked humor is back!!! I think you are recovered from the virus that robbed your holidays. Your hero's roses are pretty, be it one or a zillion roses they speak of love and thanks for sharing your pretty in pink Valentine's flowers. Love your photos and adore you.
ReplyDeletexx
Oh, just look at those beautiful girls on the front cover!!! So cool! Love the pics! You know, a friend of mine started "volunteering" at the local library two days a week a few years ago. Then they asked her to fill in for someone on maternity leave, then they asked her to work three days a week, and now she's a full time paid employee! Lol!
ReplyDeleteSo much washing it reminds me of my son and daughter in law visits they have all their work clothes here as they rent out their Sydney home and when they are down here there is always something to do over there.
ReplyDeleteThose shoes are my favourite so comfortable.
That would be Sweet Cheeks.
Merle............
If you are a sucker for working an extra day at the VA - I could think of worse things to be called, Diana! Your hero got you some lovely flowers. I'm sure their scent evened out the odor of the laundry waiting for you. : ) That is a really cute picture of Sweet Cheeks and I think the sneakers make that shot. I wondered if there were any more modeling gigs.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful roses, Diana....the pile of laundry is not so beautiful :) You always make me smile - thank you. Happy weekend!
ReplyDeleteThe Valentine roses are gorgeous! Love the circle of shoes! '-)
ReplyDeleteIt looks as though you had a great vacation! So glad you got to come home to flowers, laundry not so much. That is a never ending task!
ReplyDeleteI could think of worse things to be called to do, but working an extra day, can't be all that bad. Just think of your paycheck! :-)
I'm glad you are doing better and are out and about putting smiles on everyone's faces!
Have a lovely weekend and I hope it's warm in your neck of the woods. They are calling for a dump of snow here in Colorado.
Hugs,
Amy
I can almost smell those roses. So sweet. I don't think I've ever seen a Christmas cactus blooming like that before. Don't wear yourself out at the VA hospital, but I bet you are enjoying every minute of it. Your girls are practically celebrities!
ReplyDeleteDiana, glad you made it home safe and sound but not to that mountain (I tried to strike it out and enter molehill instead) of laundry but we'll just leave it at mountain. What a darling pic of SweetCheeks. What is up with that Christmas Cactus???? and they know a good thing when they see it at that VA hospital..Happy Weekend..Judy
ReplyDeleteThe roses are just beautiful!! The girls look adorable, as usual. Having a LOT of photos helps document so many memories.
ReplyDeleteThank you a million times over for volunteering at the VA! They so deserve a beautiful smile and sense of humor around them.
xo
Pat
Pretty roses! And I used to have Christmas cacti, too. I'm not good with houseplants but they seemed to grow and bloom quite well for me...the shoe circle reminds me of many a picture I've seen of that same circle, but made out of Irish dance shoes! (My daughter is an Irish dancer!) Glad you're feeling better. Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeletexoKathleen
Never mind the Mayor. He was just concerned someone was going to pull him out of the picture..probably heard someone yell "Mayor! Will you PLEASE get out of the shot?? PLEASE??!" heh heh! :)
ReplyDeleteThat mound of laundry would be a reality at my house! Someone I know hates doing laundry...beside me. lol! The photos of the girls are so cute and I love the shoe shot!
ReplyDeletevery pretty roses
ReplyDeleteyay, I can finally comment again! Sounds like a great road trip and now back to work, don't get sick again. Spray down with lysol before leaving the house!
ReplyDeleteYour cactus is so gorgeous! Love it!
ReplyDeleteWorking at the VA must be very fulfilling. I admire your dedication to help our veterans.
ReplyDeleteFarmhouse, hugs,
Cindy
My Christmas Cactus is forming flowers too. Poor plant took a tumbel on the floor a month ago thanks to my tyrant kittie Teddy! I'm just glad it's still alive (the plant that is- he's lucky to still be alive)! The roses were a beautiful shade of pink- smart man especially with a load of laundry like that waiting (haha)! The grandgirls are so cute- you are blessed to have such a nice family! Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful roses!!! My Christmas cactus is also blooming as is my sisters..Maybe they are the Easter bloomers..Love the pictures of the shoes!! :)..Cutie of sweet cheeks as well..Have a wonderful weekend..
ReplyDeleteDiana, I'm not gonna ignore the pink tennis shoes. I think they're awesome! And that photo of her is super cute. Okay, the Christmas, er February cactus is calling my name. I'm gonna have to get one! xxx ~ Nancy
ReplyDeleteLoved the pictures, they are great. Very pretty roses that your Hero got you. WOW didn't he do any laundry while you were gone? Men they are sure spoiled. Glad your home and feeling better. Stay warm as it's cold there. Here there is another storm on the way.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Mary
That is such a pretty flowering Christmas cactus. I have two that I inherited from my mom and neither one bloomed this year. I think our move in August was hard on them. I hope they'll bloom next year.
ReplyDeleteThe photo of Sweet Cheeks is adorable. Love the pink sneakers. Congrats on your volunteer position at the VA hospital. Read your post about it - I am sure you are bringing smiles to many faces!
ReplyDeleteFor years I had a Christmas cactus that bloomed magnificantly, but NEVER at Christmas!
ReplyDeletecute shoe picture, and i love the photo of sweet cheeks:) that mayor isn't very photogentic, but, the girls look adorable!
ReplyDeleteYou know SC all too well. ;) And I think it's wonderful that you're volunteering there. XOXO
