I have been so far behind in my
Romantic Homes posts
that I know you won't BELIEVE that I
am ahead of the game this month.
September at the end of July?
Crazy!
Anyway~Inside the cover I found this:
Beautiful, huh?
My hydrangeas are all white or greenish-white.
No colored ones at my house-Darn it all!
The cover tells me that this issue is all about
KITCHENS.
Why-oh-why do I always get the
cover a bit askew?
I have to say that I was disappointed in one thing.
There were no blogger profiles or reviews
in the front of the magazine this month.
I certainly hope they have not done away
with that feature.
What did I find?
Some awesome kitchens.
This belongs to Stephanie @ thespanishdahlia
Pretty romantic and beautiful, isn't it?
Next I came across Bjorg Njosen @
Her kitchen has a cool Swedish appeal.
This is a lovely featured kitchen
but doesn't give a link
to any particular site.
And, lastly,
this kitchen is not credited to anyone but was
used for the cover shot.
The article is titled
Sweet As Pie.
Speaking of pie.....
I made a pie the other day.
I went to bed early and when I got up
the pie was gone.
Who ate the pie? I wanted to know.
I dunno- was the answer,
paired with a dumbfounded look.
There wasn't any pie left, Diana.
Really? I wonder who left
THE CRUMBS
on the table then.
Just wondering....do any of YOU have
ghosts that eat in the middle of the night?
I am thinking we might need an exorcism here.
Morning! :) I was just over at Brenda's and saw you'd posted at the same time ( on her blog roll ) I don't know who ate your pie but I do know that when my three boys were young that I had another one named "Nobody" though I never saw him....
ReplyDeleteGot mine yesterday and noticed no blogger shout outs, too. Lots of good eye candy though.
ReplyDeletePie ghosts? Who you gonna call?
ReplyDeleteI too enjoy when the have the bloggers in magazines, its fun to see people we know, good luck catching the pie eating ghosts!
ReplyDeleteA game camera set up would catch the culprit, me thinks.
ReplyDeleteNot sure who ate your pie but I bet it was good! Hope you have a great day!!!
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Cindy
Hi Diana... I was disappointed too when my RH came yesterday and no blogs were featured... I wonder if they realize just how many of their readers are bloggers and how we look forward to that?... the kitchens in it are gorgeous for sure and the flowers!... I am usually the one who gets up in the middle of the night and eats the last piece of pie at our house!... xoxo Julie Marie
ReplyDeleteDiana, Go over and look for tell-tale crumbs in the recliner. :):) Have you ever found empty plates in the fridge? The food item is gone but the plate is still there...hmmm.Better hide some pie for yourself next time.xoxo,Susie
ReplyDeletewas it the cookie/pie monster? I guess you should hide the pie next time.
ReplyDeleteYes, we have those ghosts, too. If I make something I don't want gobbled up, I hide it.
ReplyDeleteMy romantic Homes issue just came in the mail yesterday. I'm looking forward to reading it ~ as always! I'm sorry to hear they don't have the blogger features in this issue. I hope they haven't done away with it either.
ReplyDeleteThose were really romantic kitchens. I liked them all - the first was a little much for my tastes. I am more of a photo 3 and 4. Lol. I love those tulips - they are so beautiful. sandie
ReplyDeleteIf you get rid of that darn priest you sleep with, I think the pie thief will be gone, too. LOL
ReplyDeleteHope you have a good day, sweet one, and quit taking on so much all the time!
How lovely. I love the blog features too.
ReplyDeleteThe only person who would eat pie in the middle of the night at our house would be me. I'm the one with the sweet tooth.
ReplyDeleteEach of those kitchens is wonderful. I love the cloth on the table in the first one. It gave me an idea for a little cloth for my table.
LOL!!!
ReplyDeleteI think I am the pie ghost without even knowing it .. maybe this is why my skinny jeans don't feel skinny...
I too, was disappointed that RH didn't have any blogger articles. I sure hope they don't delete that. I always loved to go and visit the ones they included and it was always a thrill if it was someone that I regularly visited.
ReplyDeleteSorry about the pie. I'm too far away - it wasn't me!
Judy
Oh, the emergence of the horrible pie-eating phantom... I thought he lived in my house (as a she)... lol... I love magazines, but I think blog reading has spoiled me... Have a fun day.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite magazine, and now they are breaking my heart! Let's all write and let them know how we feel about site seeing!?!It's so fun seeing all my friends listed, I hope they keep that.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Patti
I am sorry to say this, but if I had been there in the night, it could have been me. Pie, made with love is hard to stay away from:) I made brownies for Arney, he ate one piece, and now I am fighting myself not to eat it, I could eat the whole thing in a very short time. I am supposed to be off sugar:( I am trying!!!! I hate to throw food away, but if he isn't going to eat it.....no telling what I might do???? Love, Mary
ReplyDeleteOnce, during lent, I received a box of Frango Mints as a gift. Very expensive chocolate from Marshall Fields. Very rich, too, you could never eat more than 2, and the box has maybe 50. I had given up chocolate for lent, so I put them in the fridge. DAN ATE THE WHOLE THING IN ONE NIGHT WHILE I WAS SLEEPING. Left the wrappers all over the table. Boy, was I pissed. I don't know how he wasn't sick to his stomach. Men must have guts of iron.
ReplyDeleteWe have a midnight ghost living here too!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the review. I need to pick up a copy.
Love that all-white kitchen!:-)
ReplyDeleteNo ghosts seem to inhabit our place. Hard to believe your pie totally disappeared overnight!
xo Nellie
I love all the kitchens. Fun to look and dream! Hmmmm, missing pie!
ReplyDeleteLove the Romantic Homes overview - I used to subscribe back in the day (now I seem to get most of my inspiration from Pinterest - but there is nothing quite like holding a real magazine in your hands) Your blog is lovely - I haven't been blog reading in SOO long (see my Pinterest remark above) but I really do miss it. Thanks as always for your sweet visits to my little blog...I treasure each lovely comment...
ReplyDeleteHugs & Blessings,
Becky
Bob and I drove out to a local peach orchard today and loaded up - I'm making a peach cobbler tonight. There had better be more than crumbs when I get up in the morning! -- Jan
ReplyDeleteMy snow ball bush is deep, damson plum purple...beautiful! As is yours.
ReplyDeleteOOOhh those photos are truly inspiring for sure!
ReplyDeleteAs for the pie - you mean an entire freshly baked pie was GONE when you went to bed? Really?
Huh. That's hilarious and kinda scary too, haha.
Hugs.
Oooooo...spooky pie ghosts! Yep, they're around prowling in the kitchen and eating all of your pie! ;)
ReplyDeleteI must confess I don't buy many decor mags anymore because I just fill my most gorgeous peepers with the eye candy from blogland.
Be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
We have oreo cookie eating ghosts in this house. No one eats them, NOT ME!.. but they disappear regardless. Ok then!
ReplyDeleteThat must have been a BOOberry pie! :-)
ReplyDeleteThank you for leaving a sweet note for me on Note Songs.
Love the kitchens. I especially love the long table in front of the bright windows.
ReplyDeleteLove the comment above me about the "Boo"berry pie. Can't top that, won't even try.
You do know that you won the game the other night!
LOL! xoGinger
Your pies must be pretty delicious if you have a ghost haunting your kitchen at night! I wonder who it could be!
ReplyDeleteI'm going to have to go pick that one up, so many pretty kitchens :) You should see my floor ..... Glad to be able to comment again.
ReplyDeleteXO
Our ghost drinks milk and eats ginger snaps :)
ReplyDeleteSooooo, I kinda wanna roll around in that first photo of the lilacs. Is that wrong?
ReplyDeleteWhen we were kids, the ice cream monster would come in the night and clean out the container. I'm 99.9% sure it was my dad. :o)
I haven't seen the newest issue of Romantic Homes yet in my neighborhood. Looks like a good issue though. I'll be sure to check it out. And yes, I do have a ghost that leaves crumbs in my house after I've gone to bed. His name is Cody (my 19 yr old). He stays out late and then comes home for a midnight snack before going to bed. That boy can put away some food too!!!
ReplyDeleteI hope they don't get rid of that feature either. That's why I like the magazine. Pie eaters in the night, huh? Follow the crumbs...
ReplyDeleteBrenda
Hmm...I wonder if Romantic Homes designers are a little jealous of all the talented bloggers they have featured? Can't take the competition??? I do love their magazine. Sure hope they keep that feature.
ReplyDeleteI must confess...I ate the pie. Was it chocolate? I can't remember.
Hugs,
Deborah
Oh goodness Diana, if someone ate a pie at my house, it would be a ghost...Yikkes, then again it could be the cats...Bad cats!
ReplyDeleteCarol
Why do GOOD things have to change?..........or be eaten?! Blessings~~~Roxie
ReplyDeleteMy oh My......I LOVE PIE!!!
ReplyDeletexoxo
Jo
Hummm.... pie gone?
ReplyDeleteAt least they left some crumbs....
LOL
I have not bought a Romantic Homes for a while.
But seeing those pictures I realized that maybe I should start again.
Have a great one!
Sandy
Yes, in my time I HAVE had hungry ghosts!
ReplyDeleteHaHaHa! My doctor recently told me to eat a salad once in a while! Oh is he on my list of people with whom I wish not to associate with for a while! And for his info I do eat a salad, had one yesterday! HeeHee!
ReplyDeleteYou can always make me smile girl!
I can't wait to get my issue in the mail, I always get so excited when it arrives! I love that kitchen with the white beadboard. I wonder if they are doing away with the blogger feature? That would be too bad, it was always one of my favorites!
