You know I usually like to
start your day with a smile.
I had another post ready for
today but I was asked
to do a special post instead.
My dear friend,
contacted me last night
and asked me to post this for her.
They are traveling and she
doesn't feel she can post
for a few days.
Yesterday Donna and her hubby
went for a long walk on the beach
with Emily, their beloved
Cocker Spaniel.
When they got back from their walk
Emily was tired and then as they
were driving she fell to the floor
of the car and did not try to get up.
An emergency vet trip showed that
she had a stroke and that a
transfusion MIGHT help but
would not give her very long to live.
Donna and her husband decided
to release Emily from all her
Earthly pain and suffering.
Donna has never had children and
Emily was her "baby".
A baby that she tended to and loved
for 10 years.
Donna has asked that you pray for
them..for peace and acceptance.
She & John are both suffering~
but Emily?
Well, Emily has crossed
The Rainbow Bridge
and is free.
I am so sorry Donna.
My heart aches for you.
RIP Sweet Little EMILY
Please leave a comment here so
that she knows you are thinking
about them and praying for them.
Thank you so much!
Prayer update:
Tete is home and recovering. Her surgery was
successful but she is still in pain.
successful but she is still in pain.
I'm praying for God's peace and comfort to be sent their way. I know it's difficult losing a dog, especially one that was so loved, as Emily obviously was. I also pray that Donna and John's hearts would be healed. Diana, you're a dear to share your blog so freely. Thank you for sharing your friends' requests with us.
ReplyDeleteDebbie
I'm so sorry. I'm wiping away tears. Donna is such a dear blogging friend and I know how much Emily was a part of their lives. Please know that I'm thinking of you ALL. Extra hugs!!!
ReplyDeleteOh, no! I am so sorry for them. Our little Angel is such a big part of this family. I know what a loss this is for them. Hugs to both of them.
ReplyDeleteOh that is so sad! She's such a beautiful little girl. Oh it's just crazy how much love we have for these furkids. What a wonderful place they hold in our hearts. So sorry they're going thru this loss!
ReplyDeleteSo sad. My Mom has a dog that looks just like her and is about the same age. I know how attached we all become to our pets.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful dog.
Cindy
My prayers for peace for your spirit.
ReplyDeleteno words can ease your grief and I understand this well. my sassy of 12 years had a massive heart attack in nov. and I never posted about it. She was a joy to all of us.
Perhaps Emily and my Sassy are in heaven playing and waiting to greet us when our time comes.

Sonny
I am so sorry they lost their baby. I'll definitely be praying for them.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry to hear of the loss of such a treasured member of their family.Hugs& prayers for them all. Jane
ReplyDeletesending prayers from Canada, what a beautiful pal, so sad,
ReplyDeleteOh Diana, how sad:-( I know they must be so, so upset. I have only had one dog as an adult and he was a cocker spaniel that I just adored who died when my daughter was a baby, so seeing that sweet face reminded me of him. Hugs and prayers for them:-)
ReplyDeleteIt is so devasting to loss a member of your family and so suddenly. It shows the strength of your love for her that you were able to let her go to a healing place to wait anxiously for your arrival. My prayers are with you, Donna and John, to ease your sorrow. XOXO
ReplyDeleteThanks Diana for posting this for them.
I feel so sad...I have been following Donna on her trip and this is such a shock. What a rough time this must be for her and her husband. The loss of a pet is just devastating. I will be thinking of them.
ReplyDeleteXO,
Jane
So sorry for her loss. It is so hard losing a beloved pet. They are just like a child and I know their hears are broken. Hope they find peace soon.
ReplyDeleteAll of us who have and love dogs understand the pain that comes when they are no longer with us. It is a truly loving pet parent who takes the responsibility to love their dog (or cat) so much that they shoulder the decision to let them go ... the ultimate act of love. Donna, we are all so sorry.
ReplyDeleteOh no! That is so sad! I will definitely be thinking of them. I think many of us know the loss of our fur family members leave quite a hole in our lives. Big hugs to Donna!
ReplyDeleteOh Donna, I am so sorry.
ReplyDeleteWe have been there & it is such a hard thing to go thru. Thinking about you. K.
A prayer said for Donna and John on the loss of their beloved Emily!
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry to hear this!I know how hard it is to lose a pet. They are a part of your family.Praying for there loss.

Donna, I am so sorry for the loss of your sweet Emily. I know how much you love her, for we have two who are 12 and 13 years old. It will be so hard to see them go. I will pray for you guys. Only other dog lovers understand what a hole those sweet creatures leave in our lives when they die.
ReplyDeleteWe've been there and it is tough...so very sorry!!!
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Cindy
I am so sorry, such a sweet little baby. It's so hard to lose a pet, I dread the day when my kitty goes away, they become such pals.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Faye
Oh, I'm so sorry to hear this about the precious little Emily. I certainly understand the heartache of loosing a sweet pet. They really are like our children. My thoughts and prayers are with Donna and her hubby.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Shelia
Praying that you find peace with her passing. She is still with you, in your heart, and she loved you dearly, so hang in there, you'll see her at the bridge someday.
ReplyDeleteWhat about my comments now Diana. I think I found the solution to the No-Reply problem.
ReplyDeleteR
The best gift we can give a pet is to provide them with as fulfilling a life as possible in the short time they have here. Emily received that type of fulfillment, and the family should feel proud that they provided it.
ReplyDeleteMy condolences.
Oh, I'm so sorry! Losing a beloved pet is truly heartbreaking and they will be in my prayers. Very beautifully written Diana.
ReplyDeleteHugs to all here. . .
Suzanne
I'm so sorry. What a beautiful girl she is - I know how devastating this can be. Nothing can take away the pain, but releasing Emily from her suffering was the ultimate gesture of love.

I am so very sorry and sympathize greatly. Pets are so dear to us at our house and the loss of one leaves such a big gap. Prayers for peace and comfort for Mom and Dad.
ReplyDeleteOh, I just hate hearing about someone losing their four-legged baby. Such a painful thing to have to go through. I'm so sorry for their loss.
ReplyDeleteHow sad. My heart goes out to them. I know how hard it is to lose a dog. They are with you 24/7 and they seem to understand what you're feeling when humans can't. You never have to explain yourself to a dog. They love you no matter what. I'll be a complete basket case when our dog passes on. Hopefully, she's got several good years left, but she's getting on up there in age, so you never know. Prayers for peace and comfort are on their way.
ReplyDeleteOh, bless them. I know their pain only too well. Almost four years ago our precious 16 year old Isabel left us after being our on her walk. She was walking up the driveway and her tail was wagging when she just fell over. I miss her every day. Isabel has, I'm quite sure, already welcomed her new friend Emily.
ReplyDeleteThis post brought tears to my eyes. As my son & only child has four paws, and we love him dearly.
ReplyDeleteI know Emily was loved and had an amazing life, you can see it in the photos with her parents.
Sending love and prayers to your friends during this difficult time.
my baby (23) Mattie has a Chloe...chocolate...and we love her dearly. She has been lost in Lubbock (on the highway) 3 times with her buddy Keifer...all 3 times I felt like it was a child. We love our pets...this is one of the most pure and beautiful faces I have ever seen. I'm so glad dogs go to heaven!
ReplyDeleteso sorry for this sad loss
How sad and what a gorgeous dog! xo
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry for her and her husband. We have gone through that pain...and it hurts....our thoughts are with them.
ReplyDeleteSo sad for them. What a sweet doggie face. Prayers for them.
ReplyDeleteOh how sad, Emily was so pretty too!! I hate this, I still miss our 13 year old pug, who died almost 3 years ago. Just before I was talking to hubby about getting another puppy and he said, we won't be able to travel and that we'll get so close and if anything happens, it'll be horroble again!! My heart goes out to them! Blessings.
ReplyDeleteFABBY
My prayers go out to them. It is so hard to lose a pet. They are your children and a big part of the family. My prayers are with them.
ReplyDeleteGod bless
Mary
So sorry. It is so painful to lose a pet but giving it the peace it needed was the thing to do. Sometimes, we don't have a choice. I know I've been there a few times myself and it's very hard but seeing them suffer is much harder.
ReplyDeleteMy heart just sank when I read this. Poor Donna...fur babies are such a big part of our lives. My heart and prayers are with her.
ReplyDelete~Trisha
I will say a prayer for peace as your friends say goodbye to their sweet pup. Losing a beloved pet is so hard... It was sweet of you to write this post for them!
ReplyDeleteBest Wishes and Blessings,
Amanda
my little golden cocker died also of a stroke. she didn't meet me at the door one day. I knew because of that, that something was terribly wrong. I found her crying and walking in a circle. her little face had paralysis just like a human would.
ReplyDeletemy heart was breaking. but we went to the vet for what I knew would be the last time.
i'm a widow. she was my very life.
my sarah.
I know exactly how you feel. and my love and prayers for strength are with you.

Bless your heart Donna in this time of grieving for we all grieve when our furry friends die.
ReplyDeleteWhen our hearts are breaking and we're crying for Emily and for Donna, and we don't know either of them, it makes us know the heartbreak her mommie and daddy are feeling right now. And because we've been there ourselves. Thank you Diana for posting these precious pictures of Emily and her family. What a beautiful little girl. I hope there will be many comforts for you along the way, but I know there won't be much that helps yet. But you have expanded our hearts with love for Emily too.
ReplyDeleteMy heart is breaking for the two of you! We lost our English cocker in Jan. so I certainly know what you are going through. But when it is so sudden it is really hard. It never is easy though. Just think of how much fun she had with you her last few hours. She had a great life nad I know that she loved you as much as you loved her. Peace will come soon and you will remember the great times you had with her instead of the last minutes. It does get better (even if it doesn't feel like it right now). Trust me I know what you are going through. Hugs and prayers. Teresa
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful dog! I know it is painful to give her up. May you feel comfort as we send along our sympathies.
ReplyDeleteEmily was a beautiful dog! I am so sorry to hear of her passing. She was given a wonderful life by her mom and dad, I hope they find comfort in that.
ReplyDeleteSo very sorry .....I always tear up when I hear of loving people loosing beloved pets. It brings back my own losses and I know how they feel. What a lovely pup she was........RIP Emily
ReplyDeleteJanice
I'm so sorry to hear about your loss.
ReplyDeletewww.modernworld4.blogspot.com
sorry for their loss. We have 2 dogs both almost 7 years old...cannot even imagine.
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry for their loss. Our pets are part of our families. Saying goodbye to our 16-year-old pup last May tore my heart out and I found that having a new puppy in the house really saved me-for some the thought of another pup is impossible. I think you just follow your heart. It must have been terrible to have no warning of what was coming...makes me so sad for them. Sending prayers.
ReplyDeleteOh Diana I am so sorry for your friends loss, I know how hard it is to loose a pet! We lost our Toby in Jan. my heart still aches for him! May they find peace in knowing the wonderful life they gave her and knowing she's at peace! Saying a prayer for them.
ReplyDeleteDiana, you are always there when someone needs a friend. I feel so bad for Donna and her husband. It is so hard to lose a beloved pet. It sounds like she was having the best time walking on the beach with her mom and dad, the best place in the world for her to be. I'm glad that she didn't seem to suffer but the suffering will be with her humans for a long time..Judy
ReplyDeleteso very sorry for the loss of emily. prayers and hugs to you:)
ReplyDeleteNanaDiana,
ReplyDeleteSo sorry to hear of Donna and John's loss. Pets enrich our lives in such meaningful and wonderful ways! The days ahead without their pet will be difficult and there are apt to be tears! But knowing that their pet is no longer in pain or suffering will, in time, give them comfort!
Fondly,
Pat
P.S. I love my pie crust table, too!!! Thanks for your sweet comment and visit!
I'm so sorry. Such a beloved pet and I know they miss her so much. May God bless.
ReplyDeleteHi there, What a gem you are to post this need. You know I am a dog lover-always have been and bond heavily with our dogs, so I totally understand. In fact, with Hunter's flu this week I really understand. Praying peace for peace and grace for Donna and her hubby. Eventually memories will bring smiles but for now only heartbreak. I am going to her blog as well to send my blessings.
ReplyDeleteNoreen
Diana - may God bless you abundantly for being such a wonderful sister-in-Christ to so many of us. You are so loved!! ♥ I will be keeping sweet Donna in my prayers tonight. I know all too well the pain and sadness that she is feeling right now. But darling Emily is now running and playing with my cherished Tessa, Kodey, Shiloh and Brandy at the Rainbow Bridge.

Thoughts and prayers sent their way. I understand their pain. Losing a family pet is such a heartbreaking ordeal. I hope they find peace in knowing that Emily is at peace.
ReplyDeleteMy heart breaks for your friend. Emily was like a child to her, and I just can't imagine the pain she's feeling right now. I will be praying...

ReplyDeleteThis breaks my heart. I just can't imagine. Our Kelly is the first pet I've ever had so I haven't experienced losing one. I'm quite sure I won't handle it very well. You are such a good friend Diana...bless you.
ReplyDeleteEvery living thing only has so much time here on earth, they gave Emily so much, here time was happy. That should give them comfort.
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry to hear of your friend's cocker passing. I have had many cockers and they are wonderful, loving dogs-perfect furry family members! Prayers that they find peace in their memories. Hugs, Leena

ReplyDeleteOH I am SO sad to hear this...Emily was such a sweetheart...I know they must be heartbroken. Sending prayers and shared tears XOXOXO
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry to hear about your wonderful Emily. We lost our Lab Augie a few years ago and we still and will always miss her as with all the other babies we have shared our home with. We now have Jake "The Farm Dog" and Molly, both rescued from abusive situations. I know how you feel but just remember what a good life your baby had and how much she was loved. I wish there was something I could do to help your pain.
ReplyDeleteThe uncomplicated, whole-hearted love of a dog is one of the greatest blessings in life. I know losing Emily left a hole in your life. Hugs.
ReplyDeleteMy heart goes out to them for their loss of their dear Emlly....I know how hard it is to lose a pet...such an important part of the family....May she rest in peace!
ReplyDeleteOh, this makes me soooo sad!! Emily is sooo adorable. I totally get the love of our precious pets...Like children, yes they are!!! I wish God had made their life spans longer, just like we outlive our children I wish we could outlive our pets! Since they are so dependent on us it is like losing sweet children. We all GET IT and we are so sorry!
ReplyDeleteCarol

ReplyDeleteI have been away the last 2 days and just sat down with a feeling I needed to visit you.
I just love Donna and my heart is broke for her and her hubby about sweet Emily. Such a darling fur baby in their life. Since I lost my Miss Beazy last May, I know just how Donna is hurting. The pain is so great but I know that my Miss Beazy will meet sweet Emily at Rainbow Bridge and the two will be dear friends till we meet them again one day.

I'm sorry I didn't comment on this sooner.. I am so so sorry for this loss.. I understand how they feel. My husband I couldn't have children so we have dogs.. Seven now but in Dec of 2010 we had 8.. We lost our Bruiser that month to a sudden onset of liver failure and we were devastated.. We still miss him we still cry from time to time..It takes a long time for the pain to pass but I fully believe one day they will see their sweet baby again because I can not believe that God in all his greatness and mercy would allow such deep bonds to be formed between humans and animals only to separate them for eternity when we leave this world.. Sending much love,
ReplyDeleteRobyn
It is always so sad to lose a pet. Think how wonderful it was that she had that last walk on the beach with her loving owners just before she passed away. My heart and sympathy to you poor guys - I have been there. You will see her again one day, for sure.
