Do you have
someone you need to pop in
and visit over the Holidays?
Do you need just a sweet little
something to give them?
This is
THE EASIEST HOMEMADE
PEANUT BUTTER FUDGE
ever.
I wish I could tell you where
I got the recipe but I can't remember.
So...
You know those boxes that
Christmas cards come in?
Here's how to take the box below
and turn it into a special
gift.
Don't you hate to throw them away
Here's how to take the box below
and turn it into a special
gift.
Don't you hate to throw them away
because they have such pretty
"faces"?
They make wonderful little
Candy Boxes.
Open the box and line it with tin foil.
Butter the tin foil.
Then make this:
In pan over medium heat melt
2 sticks of butter
When melted stir in
1 cup peanut butter, creamy or crunchy.
Like this.
Stir in one teaspoon REAL vanilla.
Add 2-3/4 cups CONFECTIONERY SUGAR
(not granulated)
(That old tin scoop belonged to my Mom-Good Housekeeping 1954)
I beat it quickly with a hand mixer
(it sets up fast)
and then pour it into the
buttered foil lined box.
Put it in the fridge to harden
and as soon as it sets up
lift it out and wrap it in
parchment paper,
then wrap it with a piece
of ribbon and place it
back in the box.
The fudge stays fresh
until they cut it.
until they cut it.
Put the lid on and it presents
SMOOTH AND EASY
PEANUT BUTTER FUDGE

1 cup peanut butter
1 teaspoon vanilla
2-3/4 cups confectionery sugar
In saucepan:
Melt butter
Stir in peanut butter and vanilla.
Use hand mixer and quickly
mix sugar in. It sets up fast.
Place in tinfoil lined box and
set in fridge until hard.
This is the smoothest peanut
butter candy I have ever made.
This recipe makes two card boxes
full OR 1 8x8 buttered pan.
It's quick, easy and just
a sweet little surprise.
a sweet little surprise.
Save a few pieces for your friends.
Let them eat this while you sip
black coffee or diet Coke.
Remember...
The fatter THEY get the
THINNER YOU LOOK
next to them!

ReplyDeleteYummy! I love, love, love fudge, but so does my butt! I like the idea of using the card boxes. Very green of you!
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful display for your yummy fudge. Growing up, my mother used to make peanut fudge at Christmas. I haven't made it in years. Chris came home with boxes of treats from parents and the PTA at his two schools. I need to stay away from that part of my kitchen.
ReplyDeleteYum-O! This sounds delish, Diana! I love your presentation too, such a great idea to reuse the card box, and the knife is a great addition as well! My thighs are getting fatter just thinking about it!!!
ReplyDeleteDiana, This is an easier recipe than my old one. Which I have not made in many years. My girls used to love to have P.B. fudge with popcorn while watching Charlie Brown cartoons. Back when treats were rare. My friends are not near fat enough...bummer.xoxo,Susie
ReplyDeleteThoughtful and sweet!
ReplyDeleteJust like you!
I hope that you have a moment to really finally "take a break" this weekend!

ReplyDeleteI LOVE peanut butter fudge. I made some for Christmas and later decided that I better throw it away - it was either that or just glue it to my hips and other fudge adhering places!
ReplyDeletethat looks beautiful...and what a great gift !!
ReplyDeletethanks for the recipe.
That theory about fatter and thinner is hilarious! I don't care if the holiday is over, I would love peanut butter fudge and am going to give this a try.

Dear Darling Nana...I just tried...TRIED...making this simple recipe of fudge and what the hell ???
ReplyDeleteI beat and beat and beat it with my hand mixer...it never did get hard. I finally poured it into the pan and put it in the fridge...2 hrs ago and it's STILL not set up. Who can go wrong with this recipe...?? Someone that tries to make people THINK she can cook but really can't...that's who.
oh, well...better get on another recipe to take to our home fellowship tomorrow...:)
hugs and I hope you are finally feeling back to normal.
xoxo
