I thought before I
started packing everything
away and bringing
out the Christmas stuff
I would show you a few
little shots of
Fall that we have
enjoyed here.
This is the mantle in
our family room.
Love this little birdhouse...
This is the mantle in the dining room
I so love that picture.
MyHero bought it for me in 1999
for the big old house that we had
just rehabbed.
I showed you the back garden
to that house here.
I have a little vignette
set up in a tiny niche
between the hall and
the powder room.
I painted the folk art picture
many, many years ago.
Doesn't she have a
sweet little face?
The turkeys belonged to
Gramma Clara.
My oldest son picked
out a dozen roses for the
dining room table.
They are much more coral
colored when you see them in
real life.
And...tell me...
did you EVER see ACORNS
this size?
Imagine the squirrel picking
those things!
Yeah...How would you like
HIM on YOUR roof?
The Pumpkin Pie Fairy
is coming up in the
next day or so...
I'm not gonna tell you
if he's Naughty or Nice...
you'll have to see for yourself.
Have a GREAT Saturday.
thats a beautiful mantel, the painting looks like a watercolor, the trees in that paining are amazing, was that somewhere in Florida or the south?Thank goodness the squirrels don't come that big, they would have eaten my dog! My dog hated squirrels and chased themeveryday of his life! I have a feeling sweet cheeks has something to do with that pumpkin fairy!!
ReplyDeleteHummm if he's naughty, how naughty is he? Ha! Love the mantle decor! Can't wait to see what you do fo the Christmas holidays. We live in the country and have lots of squirrels. My husband has devised quite a nifty way to keep them off the feeder. He used a slippery pole to hold the feeder and placed a plastic lid to a 55 gallon drum right under the feeder. So they hit that first if they make it up the pole and then can't get around this lid to get to the feeder. Took him a while to figure this out, and a few bad words he screamed out the window as he watched the squirrels fly bird seed all over the ground.....Ha! I told him he reminded me of an old man, getting all frustrated with these squirrels. Isn't that an old man pastime? Chasing them off the feeders? LOL!
ReplyDeleteDiana, Both mantles look nice. I love the children figurines. Can't wait to see all the Christmas decor. Smiles, xo, Susie
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful mantel! And you painted that folk art painting? Why don't you have your own studio and sell your paintings? Honestly, you do know that you could, right?
ReplyDeleteAnd then in your spare time, you could do stand-up comedy, either one would work for you. :-)
Hi Diana, I love all of your Fall decor... those paintings are beautiful and the folk art one by you is fantastic!... the little birdhouse is so cute too... I have the Pumpkin Pie fairy, but only the little ornament size one... he's naughty sometimes... I'll be wondering if yours is naughty or nice???... xoxo Julie Marie
ReplyDeleteYour mantels are beautiful. Makes me wonder: do you take everything off to decorate for Christmas or incorporate some things into it? I guess I'll have to wait and see! I've been sitting here eating breakfast and looking into the family room wondering what I'd do. I used to take everything off but recently tried to just add things where I didn't have to pack away regular accessories. Come January it's easier. But easier isn't always better! Will be watching to see what you do.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful paintings. And yes, you could do stand up comedy in front of your very on studio, and sell your work.
ReplyDeleteEverything is so lovely. Such a happy home!
ReplyDeleteYou can keep the squirrel, Diana! : ) We don't have too many around us because the trees are still so young, I don't think there is anything for them. Lots of birds though. I love that birdhouse ~ I had quite a collection of them at one time.
ReplyDeleteLove the fall decor. Your mantle and vignettes are lovely. What a beautiful folk art painting that you made. You talented lady, YOU!
ReplyDeleteLovely, lovely, lovely.
ReplyDeleteSo charming and warm. Just like you!

ReplyDeleteThe little vignette with your folk art picture as background looks awesome, the painting, the kids and the turkeys figures, the leaves, they all go so well together!
Today I'm getting my Christmas stuff out, it's going to be a busy day! :)
Oh, I love all your Fall decor! So...so pretty! You keep those big squirrels in your neighborhood...lol
ReplyDeleteBlessings, Gert
Hi Diana, I have one of those furry friends that run across my roof quite often and no I don't feed them, but they find my walnut, english walnut, to take before I ever get to harvest any. I love the paintings and I really enjoyed catching up with you. I am off to get a perm so I don't have to do a lot to the hair here at the holiday season. Take care Hugs and Prayers Your Missouri Friend.
ReplyDeleteThe Uptown Acorn loves the acorns. Great Fall decor:) xo
ReplyDeleteYour mantel including the paintings are wonderful. It feels like Thanksgiving already! Regarding that squirrel, they must be a Wisconsin thing. Ours are way to hot to get that big. I've never even seen an acorn either. They expect you to feed them nuts, chips and other goodies from your beach bag when they come down off the cliffs and beg on the beach. I'm telling you one more thing. I'd better not see that pumpkin pie fairy near my house on Thanksgiving or I'll have to run away and hide!
ReplyDeleteHappy Thanksgiving week! I have a feeling it will be full of love, good food, family and friends all week long. Blessings, Tia
Enjoy your weekend! I'm anxious to start 'dragging out' the decorations! But Fall things are so comforting. Crazy squirrel! lol

ReplyDeletethat is one big squirrel! Our girls love to look out of the window and are very excited when they see "Roger" (aka one of our frontyard squirrel)
ReplyDeleteSuch a sweet post! That chubby squirrel is too funny! We watched 4 squirrels in the tree outside our office window Thursday! One looked like a baby and one was so chunky he could not step out onto the thinner branches! The other two looked like they were with Cirque Du Soleil! LOL! I wish I had my good camera with me that day! Sigh! Your decorations are great! Hugs Anne
