Well, I know I promised
you pictures of roses today.
I'll have to do that tomorrow
because today I want to
show you a very
Special Sunday.

you pictures of roses today.
I'll have to do that tomorrow
because today I want to
show you a very
Special Sunday.
Two weeks ago today
the three little girls
stayed for the weekend.
On Sunday morning we
went to our church.
A Community Church.
Outside the church,
on a small hillock
stands three crosses.
Every Sunday after
services you see children
of all ages running up
to hug the crosses.
Our girls are no exception.
Hmmm..SOMEONE seems
to be POSING!
Jesus loves her anyway!
Afterwards,
we headed to Perkins for breakfast.
SweetCheeks had soup
for breakfast....
of course she did!
Ria was more interested
in playing TicTacToe
and smiled whether she won or lost.
Now, our Lulu is not prone
to BELLY LAUGHING
but Papa got her riled up
and I think there was a snort
or two involved-
And, to top off the afternoon,
ROLLER SKATING!
This is MyHero's old grade school.
He skated there as a kid.
Our kids skated there.
Now our grandkids are
skating there.
Ria says that SweetCheeks
CAN'T SKATE
very good...
SweetCheeks says she
DUSHEN'T CARE
and SKAHTING IS STOOOPID!
Don't you just love all
the little mini-dramas
between siblings?
Can you see that we give
them BEER when their
parents are not around?
That would be
ROOT BEER-
They are already drunk
on life...
although
SOME DAYS
I wish
I DRANK......!;>)

At the end of the day
they were all smiles.
They were ready to go home.
SweetCheeks said
Yohu THIRHED ME RIGHT OUHT!
Hmmm...and I thought
WE were the old people here!
Hope you didn't shave the
neighbor's dog...cuz I
will be back tomorrow with
the
RUN FOR THE ROSES...
which is NOT a horse race!

Just love your precious little grandchildren Diana... the photo of them hugging the crosses is priceless... it looks like you all had such a fun day together!... they are darling little girls... wishing you another beautiful Sunday today, xoxo Julie Marie
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun day! And tell Sweet Cheeks that she will someday skate beautifully if she just keeps trying. Gracie doesn't skate well, either - but someday she will! It just takes a little while to catch on.
ReplyDeleteI am so glad that you all had such a great time together. It tired me out just reading about it. Love the kids hugging the crosses. Have a great Sunday AND stay out of trouble. Glad you are feeling better and getting things done.
ReplyDeleteThose girls are soooo lucky to have such great grandparents. I spend much of my youth hanging with the best grandparents ever and I'm sad for people (like my husband) who did not have that.
ReplyDeleteHave a great day!
They are all so sweet and skating sounds like lots of fun to me. Enjoy your day.
ReplyDeleteyou always make my day, those girls are just the sweetest, what a great sunday!I promise not to shave the dog!1

ReplyDeleteYou and your husband are such great grandparents! I bet that was fun taking them to the skating rink. It probably brought back alot of memories. Looks like you all had a good day together.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a fun time...and a great way to keep in good shape! Enjoy your day, my friend! enjoy your sweet family!
ReplyDeleteWOW, I love those crosses! That is the neatest thing...and how precious that they were hugging them!!!

What a wonderful day you all had. You are truly blessed, Diana, to have such beautiful grandchilren to make these wonderful memories with, yours and theirs.
ReplyDeleteMy oldest daughter use to ask for soup for breakfast too.

Oh Diana, you two are the best grandparents! You so remind me of mine growing up. I miss them soooo much and have the best fun memories, of sleepovers and places they would take me. Looks like you had a ball!
ReplyDeleteYou make me smile when I read your blog. I love it when a Gramma makes wonderful memories for the grand kids to remember.
ReplyDeleteWhat wonderful memories you and the girls will have of this day.
ReplyDeleteI loved skating. My sister and I used to go skating then head on over to grandma and grandpa's house for the weekend.
Waffles Sunday morning. Roast beef, mashed potatoes and gravy, and more for early dinner. That was the same every Sunday. I loved it.:)
Have a great week my friend.
Take care, Janet W
Fun mixed in with lots of personal history. Good stuff!
ReplyDeleteOk.....there's one thing missing from this post. There's no photo of YOU out on that rink, Diana. lolol!

Hi Diana, Your girls are precious and they do love to pose. All kids doesn't matter whether boys or girls or both have a tendency to squabble at times. They are just that way. My boys like to roller skate. They weren't very good at first, but just kept working at it. I always enjoy your post. I am looking forward to Run for the Roses. Have a great week. Your Missouri Friend.
ReplyDeleteThey are all just precious.:)
ReplyDeleteDid YOU skate? :)
Oh Diana, this totally made my day! Such special memories - loved the one of Sweet Cheeks. He was smiling too. =0)

Oh those girls keep you hoppin. Or is it the other way around? I don't think they have anything over on you. My oldest grandson once told me, "Grandma, it doesn't take much to make you happy". I took that as a real compliment. The girls are dolls and I can tell they love their Grandma and pops!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Jann
Happy Sunday to you, Diana! That is sweet that the kids like hugging the crosses~ maybe it is just like giving Jesus a hug! :)
ReplyDeleteThis post was hilarious, as usual! You have the funniest and funnest grandkids ever! :) That cracked me up how your littlest one said you wore HER out! ;)
I hope your weekend was a wonderful one, and that you have a fantastic Monday!
Blessings,
Jenni
Your grandkids are so blessed to have special grandparents like you and your husband!
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Janet
Hmmm...once you mentioned they were going roller skating I thought you were going the whole roller derby way with the girls starting their own team! I'm sure you would have found the perfect name for them!
