Something is up here!
I can't tell you just what it is yet..
but there is something afoot..
or abody..or something.
It has something to do with this....
and this...
It involves a simple pattern.
When I have a pattern that I
know I am going to use multiple times
I take the original pattern
(which usually has multiple sizes)
and transfer the pattern(s)
to sturdy craft paper.
It makes it so easy to use,
and reuse, the pattern
many, many times.
So...here's a sneak peek.
I'll hope to get started this week
using some of these fabrics.
and maybe these...
I can't wait to see
SweetCheeks and Company
all dressed in
matching outfits.
Maybe I should make one
for myself? Nahhhhhh....
I don't think I could get away
with ruffled bloomers
even though they
DO have them in
MY SIZE
AND they come in PINK.
I'm just wondering what the
neighbors would think if I
hung those out on the
clothes line~
They would probably ask where you got them...I think you'd look 'adorable' in that outfit.
ReplyDeleteI just know I'm going to want to run out and buy a sewing machine when I see what you're up to. Even though I don't know how to use it and I have no little girls around to make outfits for.
ReplyDeleteDiana, when my girls were small, we would go watch the square dancers, when the pork fest was in town. My girls would laugh at the bloomers the ladies wore. All lacy and long. Can't wait to see what you are making :):) Smiles, Susie(She Junks)
ReplyDeleteI'll look forward to seeing what you whip up, Diana! You've reminded me that I have two patterns to make something for my granddaughter. I should probably pull them out and get to it.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see what becomes of your cute pattern and the stacks of fabric! Thanks also for sharing the link to get the rumba granny panties...they come in my size even.
ReplyDeleteYou are such a tease! I'm sure you're hoping the suspense gets to us.
ReplyDeleteAnd I can't help but guess. It kind of looks like you might be making little pillowcase dresses. Or - that's what they call them here. Getting ready for summer and sunshine, already?
probably make all their hearts go a flutter!!!!
ReplyDeleteYep, ya might be the talk of the block if these were flapping in the wind. :))
ReplyDeleteNow that could turn into some fun with the neighbors. Just keep a few special items around to mix in with the regular laundry...heehee.
ReplyDeleteYou probably would get a lot of company, Funny thought.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun project...sewing for little girls! Sugar and Spice...and all that! Have fun...but I am not so sure about the ruffled bloomers LOL
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see what you make for them, I know it will be beautiful! The ruffled bloomers? I think I'd like them in black! LOL
ReplyDeleteI love the bloomers! I like to see Mr's eyes when you serve dinner wearing these!
ReplyDeleteI love the multiple patterns. I do the same thing. My daughter just bought a gazillion feet of the tracing paper for practically nothing. I use the paper King Arthur uses to package their items (others use it too) - large sheets of blank paper.
Can't wait to see your little granddaughter's dresses!
Have a great day!
Blessings,
Donna
Ah, that reminds me of a picture taken of my cousin and me in matching dresses our moms had made for us... Good times!
ReplyDeleteYou should hang up your Bloomers right beside your string bikini just to confuse them.
ReplyDeletem.
Hi Diana, Susie sent me to your blog and I can see I'm going to love it! Oh how fun to see images of patterns and fabrics. My daughter just blessed me with my first granddaughter (after 3 precious grandsons) and I have visions of sewing again after many, many years!! I'll be back! :)
ReplyDeleteDonna
LOL! You rock, Diana! The ruffled bloomers are too funny! Can't wait to see what you make...I'm loving the polka dots!
ReplyDeleteHugs, Cindy
I got a good laugh when I saw the end of your blog. From out of the blue, wow!
ReplyDeleteWhat suspense, Diana! It looks like it is going to be fun, whatever the finished product may be. When our three were young, the oldest requested that I sew for all of them alike "so we will all be twins!" It must have been very difficult for her to have younger twin sisters.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see what you come up with!

The pillowcase dress! They are going to be adorable in those! I can't wait to see!
ReplyDeleteThat is so awesome that you sew Diana. Can't wait to see the cutie pies in their new duds!
ReplyDeleteoh, i would just love little girls to make dresses for! cant wait to see them! i bet you will do a fabulous job diana! and as for those bloomers, well, so long as they dont think they belong to your hero!!!!
ReplyDeletelaura xxx
Lol, you make me smile. My grandma always made clothes for me. My mom did too. I remember the first time I realized you could actually buy kids clothes at the store. I think before that, I just thought they made clothes for adults to buy. It was downstairs in the basement at May Co.
ReplyDeleteThey'll treasure those dresses :)
Blessings,
Marcia
fun fun ruffles...let them think!!
ReplyDeletePersonally, Diana, I think that you would look GREAT in ruffled bloomers and the fact that they are pink is a bonus! So, aprons, huh?! I love aprons! There is something so homey and feminine about them and pink and black?! Won't your precious granddaughter just love them and I bet she would love that you two will match!
ReplyDeletehugs!
I dare you. Hang out those bloomers. I double dare you!
ReplyDeleteYou are sewing up a storm!
I have to tell you that Emma is dying for a pair of bloomers. She asked me excitedly the other day if I thought she would be able to find some when we go to Paris! I love how your dresses turned out and the idea of transferring the pattern to craft paper is brilliant!
ReplyDeleteYou are just a frilly girly in pink ruffly bloomers! Hee Hee! I love it! You are always up to something good here. I L O V E knowing you!
