She wore flowers in her hair-
Yes she did!
46 years of marriage started here-
on the riverbank in Alva, Florida.
Whoop-de-doo
When did I get wrinkles and
when did his hair disappear?
sigh
when did his hair disappear?
sigh
Not such great pictures.
We lost most of our pictures
during a move.
As you can see-
The bride wore a Gunne Sax gown
and the groom wore a
BLUE LEISURE SUIT!
LOL
Then, we had to re-marry a few years later
IN A CHURCH
just to make everyone happy!
And where are those pictures?
Yeah- I am wondering that, too!
Hope you all have a wonderful day.
I am planning on doing the same!
Happy Anniversary!!

Happy Anniversary! Your dress was adorable and would be appropriate to wear currently. John's leisure suit no so much. ha! Prayers for your family. xoxo
ReplyDeleteHappy Anniversary! Love your hair then and now!!
ReplyDeleteI love these photos! I owned two Gunne Sax dresses and now realize what sacrifices my mom must have made to get those for me. Bob wore a leisure suit as his going away outfit. It was blue. He had a beige one too and a soft sage green one. The memories! Happy anniversary!

Is August 16 your anniversary? We were married on August 16, 1969, which means we just celebrated 52 years! Happy anniversary to you!
ReplyDeleteYou both look wonderfully happy! Wishing you many more happy years together!
ReplyDeleteBelated Happy Anniversary!!! You have been blessed and may you continue to be blessed with much love and happiness! ~ FlowerLady
ReplyDeleteI also wore a Gunne Sax dress for my wedding! And flowers in my hair...babys breath! We got married in a park!
ReplyDeleteHappy anniversary to you both, the pictures tell a beautiful love story that has continued through all of life's challenges! Beautiful pictures of you both!
ReplyDeleteHello Diana....Can you believe how fast time has gone?! When you look at pictures from days like your wedding, do you feel as "mature" as we are? lol.
ReplyDeleteI don't feel retirement age...most of the time, until I try to get up out of my kayak! I see pictures of me, and my girls, and I wonder if other people see me as old. We just celebrated my youngest daughter's 40th birthday, and it hasn't sunk in yet. Ya know? the part about being this old???? I look at you, and Kris, and I see beautiful, classy broads that are ageless! As long as I wear turtlenecks and long sleeves, and jeans....I think I can pass for less old. Well, now that I have reminded you of just how old we are....have a wonderful day. xxoo Seriously....you are a beauty!!!
Happy Anniversary! You both look so adorable. I love the flowers in your hair and yes! Leisure suit! Ha! Great! :)
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness this is so precious! What a beautiful couple! Congratulations to you both! xoxo
ReplyDeleteDiana, Happy belated Anniversary to you and hubby. You look so beautiful. I love the Gunny-Sax, I think my time was even before Gunny Sax was a thing. At least you weren't in black (like I was) don't know what my mother was thinking! And my hubby's leisure suit didn't come until we were married a few years and it was tan but otherwise the same..Happy Tuesday..xxoJudy
ReplyDeleteHappy Anniversary Diana - 46 years is quite the testament in today's crazy times. Oh Leisure suits, so funny now but so cool back in the day. And Gunne Sax - nothing better! I wore one to my junior prom. Enjoy your special day. Jane
ReplyDeleteLove these photos! Both of you look so groovy!
ReplyDeleteHappy belated anniversary. Hope you were able to do a little something special to celebrate.
xoxo
Beautiful! I love those dresses! I wore one in the Homecoming Parade my senior year. Every other girl had something more foo-foo. I felt quite pretty in mine.
ReplyDeleteHappy Anniversary. What a darling couple. I remember making my daughters gunny sack dresses.
ReplyDeleteMy son helped me take down a bin in our storage unit of old pictues...what a shock to see me and Don 60 yeara ago. But we love our men now more than we could have imaged when we said I do. That's probably true for you too, and we have a life time of experiences with them.
Thanks for sharing...loved it.
HAPPY ANNIVERSARY YOU TWO DARLINGS! Hugs and more hugs to you both and you are each a blessing to the other. I am grateful with my heart that you found one another.
ReplyDeleteHAPPY ANNIVERSARY! loved the photos!
