When you are an active kid
there is always the chance
that you will get hurt.
My 15 year old grandgirl
LULU
fell on the ice yesterday.
She started to fall on her back,
twisted and instead fell
FULL FORCE
on her face and the side of
her head.
This was taken at the hospital.
At the ER they did a scan
and it appears there is no
brain bleed
but she has a severe concussion.
As a teenager of this generation
she is
a social media butterfly.
With this concussion
she needs to stay in a dark room
for several days.
NO TV
NO iPOD
NO FACETIME
NO MOVIES
NO NUTHIN'
Send up a little prayer that
her headache disappears
and that her face stops hurting
and that she can rest and relax.
I am looking forward to her
bouncy, chattery self!
Oh no, Lulu took a fall! I will definitely say a prayer for this sweet girl. I hope she heals nicely and very fast. Thinking about you today, Diana.
ReplyDeletelove, ~Sheri
I hope she takes it seriously and really turns off the technology! That kind of injury is nothing to mess with.
ReplyDeleteHow is Lulu doing?
DeleteLulu is so pretty! I hope she feels better real soon. Falls are so scary, and dangerous!
ReplyDeleteBless her! Prayers for patience and a speedy recovery.
ReplyDeleteConcussions are not good. I hope she does what the doctor says. I guess if she is in the dark, she can't read either? What about if someone let her rest and turned on a book on CD for her to at least listen to?
ReplyDeletePrayers she comes through this just fine.
oh no,, I keep her in my prayers,,
ReplyDeleteOh No!! Poor Lulu.. she will be fine in no time.. I'm praying for her.. love and hugs to Lulu..
ReplyDeletePraying for beautiful Lulu. Sorry this happened. I know it will be hard but hope she heals very quickly. xoxo Dolly
ReplyDeletePRAYING!!!!!
ReplyDeleteOh, poor thing. Praying for her and for her to have patience!
ReplyDeleteOh no...bless her heart! So good to hear no bleeding...could have been SO much worse! It would be hard for ME to go with my electronics for a few days (I hate to admit it but it's true) let alone a young person! Hopefully she is a typical teenager that likes to sleep a lot...but you can only do so much of that. Prayers going up for her complete and quick recovery. ♥

Bless her heart, I am praying for her to have a fast recovery. Having teenage grandchildren I understand your pain. When Morgan was a cheerleader in High School she was a flyer and was dropped, off to the ER she went, an a concussion!
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, the poor sweet thing!!!!!!!! How awful, I'm so sorry Diana. Keeping her in my prayers for quick healing!! xo
ReplyDeleteOh no!!! I will be praying for her!

Hugs,
Amy
Sending positive thoughts for her full and quick recovery.
ReplyDeleteMy goodness, poor LuLu. I will pray that she gets better real soon. Concussions are more serious than we used to think. I'm sure she will be back to her regular activities soon. ♥
ReplyDeletePrayers for LuLu that she will heal and rest as needed. I know it is hard to keep a teenager still. Sending HUGS your way.
ReplyDeleteOh no, sending lots of prayers on the way. I'm so sorry. My daughter is a cheerleader and had a fall and she had a concussion, too. No fun. I pray God heals her quickly. ((BIG HUGS)) xoxo
ReplyDeleteOh dear, a concussion is no laughing matter. It could take months to fully get over. Sending best wishes her way!
ReplyDeleteOh, Diana that is so scary. Sending prayers for her. xo Laura
ReplyDeleteHow scary, but I'm so glad there is nothing more serious going on, but oh it will be so hard to have to be so quiet. It would be hard for all of us! Praying for patience and for healing for Lulu!
ReplyDeleteIce is the worst, will say a prayer that all goes well..
ReplyDeleteOh dear. I swear ice might as well be concrete (trust me, my girls took a number of falls while competing on the ice). Sending up prayers for quick healing and for patience for her. So thankful it wasn't worse!!!
ReplyDeleteGod bless her! Prayers, many.
ReplyDeletexoxo
Oh no! Poor baby! That's awful! Oh, I will pray that she heals fast. I'm glad they are being extra careful.
ReplyDeletePraying for Lulu. I'm so sorry. xoxoxo
ReplyDeletePraying for Lulu! Bless her heart. That was a terrible fall.
ReplyDeleteSaying a prayer for Lulu. Have been praying for her, her mom, and her sisters, too. I may have tossed in a prayer for her nana, too. She looks terribly banged up. Was she skating? Skiing? Cheerleading?
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry about this! I pray she will recover quickly!
ReplyDeleteNo social Media, can get a girl down...
Rest and more rest!
Saying a prayer right now for her. Sweet girl and being a teen that no electronics is hard but important for healing. Hugs.
ReplyDeleteUgh - sending healing thoughts and prayer for a quick recovery-
ReplyDeleteOh my..poor LULU..sending healing thoughts..I hope she makes it without her devices..that will be very hard..Glad she is OK!!

Oh my, sounds like a bad fall. 🙏 that she will be back to herself soon.
ReplyDeleteMay she feel God's healing love & peace flowing through and surrounding her.
ReplyDeleteFlowerLady
Poor sweet Lulu. No nothing is a harsh sentence on someone her age! Kiss her for me. I'll be sending one up for her.
ReplyDeleteHow awful!! That is so scary going down but then to fall on your face and head! Not sure I could sit in a dark room for days...you will have to go and sit with her and tell jokes or funny stories to her! Praying she recovers quickly and you have her back to Lulu soon.
ReplyDeleteOh Diana, I am sending prayers. That is just terrible news. I am sure she will be fine, but I know it's scary. xo
ReplyDeleteOh Diana, I am so sorry to read this. Prayers lifted for Lulu. I know this is scary especially for her to be still in a dark room for several days. She is strong and healthy so that will help her to recover now. Sending thoughts and prayers her way. xoxo
ReplyDeleteMy word! What else is going to happen. Seems you are the carrier of bad news. Sorry so many going through such times and trust things get better for all. It is nice that so many feel they can talk things over with you and perhaps makes them feel better. Blessings to all and you.
ReplyDeletea break is as good as a rest ? ;)
ReplyDeletePoor sweet girl. I'm sure she knows how important it is to follow those orders, you don't want to mess with a concussion. I hope she heals beautifully and quickly. I miss hearing about those wonderful granddaughters of yours! -Jenn
ReplyDeleteOkay that turns my stomach. Poor baby!!!!!!!!!!! I will certainly pray for her! That is going to be so boring for her. Love, sandie
ReplyDeleteThat's unfortunate, but I'm glad it wasn't that serious. I hope she recovers
ReplyDeleteTell her that when she can't watch TV or go online, she will just have to remember her Nana's funny stories!
ReplyDeleteHope to hear that she is much better in a future post. In the meantime, praying for your sweet and pretty Lulu. xx
Wishing the best for Lulu. I was 17 when I suffered a concussion. The headaches are horendous, and light is so uncomfortable that I doubt Lulu will be tempted to use any of her electronics. Speedy recovery for this sweet girl!
ReplyDeleteOh gosh, poor Lulu. Praying for a super speedy recovery. Extra prayers for mom & grandma for the extra gray hairs acquired from the accident. Jane
ReplyDeletePrayers for your Lulu!! Concussions are serious......
ReplyDeleteGoodness, so many all around us in need of prayer! Poor sweet Lulu, I can't imagine how tough its going to be for her to have no social media contacts, as definitely this generation thrives on such things. I will pray that she heals quickly and with no lasting effects!
ReplyDeleteOUCH!! Poor girl. I do hope that she heals fast and is back to being a teen!!!!
ReplyDeleteOh, good heavens, this is so sad. My son had a concussion when he hit the pavement full force on his bike, His face looked like he was beat up by a thug. He healed with the help of wonderful doctors and nurses. We parents, not so easily.
ReplyDeleteSending love to all of you.
Jane xxxx
Well I hate to hear about this....best wishes for this pretty and sweet young girl to GET WELL FAST!! Definetly thinking of her here in Charleston and hope she's 100% better very very soon and back to her normal life and activities. Tell her to hang in there!
ReplyDeleteOh, my! Bless her heart! That is awful! So thankful she wasn't hurt any worse. May God heal her speedily and keep all of you safe. :) Sending love and hugs!

ReplyDeleteDiana, I am praying for Lulu. We love our grandkids as our own. I know you must be anxious. Blessings to all of you, love, xoxo, Susie
ReplyDeletePoor sweet Lulu. So glad there was no brain bleed. Always my biggest fear. Hope she has a quick recovery. I'll keep her in my prayers, Diana.
ReplyDeleteI hate that and will keep her in my prayers. When I tripped a couple of years ago, I fell on my face! I looked like I had been in a fight...one I didn't win! I used Rosehip oil to rub in my booboos. It takes awhile for the swelling and bruising to fade...oh and the soreness! Poor thing! I'm sorry this happened! Tell her we're praying for her. Sweet hugs, Diane
ReplyDeleteWhat an awful moment for her. So glad there weren’t any more serious affects. Prayers for her speedy recovery.
ReplyDeleteOh no Diana this is horrible. I hope she starts to feel better soon. Hugs to her from me. Geez it is always something.
ReplyDeleteI think it is going to hurt more to be off the social media than the actual injury! Poor girl.
xoxo
Kris
Oh, poor Lulu! Hope she heals quickly and can get on with her life! Good news about Jettie...I'm sure she is thrilled with the results. xoxo
ReplyDeleteI've tried several times to leave a comment, but yahboo! seems to have something against me. I just wanted to say that I hope she recovers as quickly and painlessly as possible. I'm sending healing and peaceful thoughts. Blessed Be
ReplyDeleteoh no...bless her heart. Here is hoping she is all better FAST.
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry this happened to your beautiful Lulu. I hope she is getting better now and healing. You didn't mention nose or teeth, so I trust they are okay.
ReplyDeleteLord God, please give her patience to do as the doctors require. I also pray for a full and complete recovery in Jesus' name.
ReplyDeleteLaura
Oh, sweet girl, I’m praying for you!
ReplyDeleteOh, Diana. I am so sorry that your sweet heart is having to go through this. It is hard to have to stay so still when you are her age. Praying that she is feeling better soon..xxoJudy
ReplyDeleteGoodness, so, so sorry for your Granddaughter. I know this has been a very scary situation for all of you. Prayers for her full and quick recovery!

ReplyDeleteOh no! I am so sorry! She is an absolute doll! Gorgeous! I will say a prayer right now for LuLu! Nothing closer to our hearts than our babies.
ReplyDeletePraying for Lulu. Also for her parents that will have sleepless nights worring until she is better.
ReplyDeletePretty girl!!!
Lisa
Lord. We ache for Lulu. Would you show your hand in her life, not that we're greedy, like you did to keep Lulu from any brain bleed. May the dark room be the place where you grant her rest and a healing restoration. So tough to be in a spot like this for Lulu's parents too. May they see your hand on their precious daughter and praise you for it. In Jesus name.
ReplyDeleteMy prayers for her and all those that love her.
ReplyDeletePrayers sent.....such a beautiful girl!!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Nancy

Hi Diana...so many kids falling on the ice at school and getting hurt...bad! Prayed for your beautiful girl.
ReplyDeleteDid she need any shots for the headaches, or brain swelling? Love to you.
Debbie
xo
oH NO No social media, I bet that hurts more than her injuries. What a pretty girl she is. Love seeing your "kids"
ReplyDeleteJanice
Sending good thoughts your granddaughter's way. I managed to have three concussions as a youngster, all causing temporary blindness and requiring hospitalization. The headaches lasted from a few days to two weeks, but always subsided completely. Other than being required to wear helmets while riding my horse and skiing, I recovered fully. Hopefully, it will go as well for your granddaughter. Keep us posted, please!
ReplyDeleteLulu is in my prayers.
ReplyDeleteDiane, I’m so sorry to hear this. Please know that Lulu is in my prayers !
ReplyDeleteBlessings
Gert
Praying for LuLu , and thinking, " I can't believe she is 15 already! " Poor thing--- no iPhone, no computer?
ReplyDeleteIsn't she beautiful, though!?
Praying.
ReplyDeleteYour sweet granddaughter and your friend, Jettie, are both in my prayers for healing and recovery. No social media will probably be the hardest part of recovery for LuLu!
ReplyDeleteWarm hugs,
Carol
Hope she is feeling better. A little late in reading this.
ReplyDeletePoor thing! I hope she's out of her darkness quarantine by now! Prayers for a swift recovery!
ReplyDeleteGoodness!! I'm glad it seems she will be okay with rest!
ReplyDeleteOh I'm so sorry to hear about this, Diana! May God bless her with a quick recovery. Prayers for her, and so glad to hear that there is no brain bleed. Oh these grandkids, they keep us praying, don't they! xoxo
ReplyDeletePraying for your granddaughter.
ReplyDeleteBless her heart! I hope she is ok now. :)
ReplyDeleteI saw this come through my feed and I’ve been meaning to get back here. Oh I hate falls! Poor thing, Thank god it wasn’t worse but concussions must be taken serious. It’s so hard for young people to put down their phones. Maybe it might be a good experience in the long run.
ReplyDeleteSending prayers for your precious granddaughter!
