PICK YOUR FAVORITE JANUARY TABLE RESULTS--GET READY TO GIGGLE!

WOW!
This PICK YOUR FAVORITE thing
gets bigger every time I do it..
Y'all KNOW that makes a lot more
WORK FOR ME
Right?
But...do you care?
Nope!
You just keep signing up and making
all kinds of comments
and you KNOW
I am going to throw some of those
COMMENTS BACK AT YOU,
right????

I hope that I got everyone seated.
IF I missed you, please let me know!
I checked the names twice
but you know how it is with us blondes
(especially once our hair turns white)

SO
Here's what we started with---

Seated at Table #1/BEAR IT AT THE TABLE
We have Kay G (who changed her mind when someone else sat down with her at a different table-)
Susie, Linda C & not to be the
ONLY LINDA AT THE TABLE
Linda LaCarte plopped herself down,
Cristina, Liz,
Bobbie (whose hubby calls her TeddyBear--shhhhh-that might be a secret),
Kathy, Janet and Jane
(just so you know- Jane is here because she thinks the name sounds NAUGHTY...
Bear/Bare...ummm...Jane...never mind)
Jean- a little late but here at last..
Phyllis (Hi Phyllis-nice to see you),
Krishna, Tanna, Lauren, Kim, Candy, Carrie
AND
Nancy (who wants the bears removed) &
Judy (she wants black faced sheep)
Lordy- what a table that is--
Maybe Judy can bring some black paint and make the bears LOOK like sheep?

Table #2-BABY I'M BLUE
Sally, Bethany (who wanted to sit at another table but
thought it looked too cold!)
Sheri,
Merle (she's from Down Under so may be standing on her head-not sure how that works),
Diane, Snowhite (yes you have a celebrity at the table)
and Sheila!

Table #3-ANTLERS ON WATCH
Cindy and Katie (who was afraid to offend someone so almost didn't sit anywhere)
Susan and Ellen (who always emails me on the side)
One of these days I am going to "out you", Ellen
AND...poor Debby Ray I put her at the wrong table so shove over girls-here she comes!

Moving along we have:
Table #4-BARNSIDE-INSIDE/OUTSIDE?
Shirley, Ricki, Patti, Penny,
Sugar- and everyone needs a little SUGAR at their table,
Laurie--now let me warn you- IF you sitting next to Laurie
her eyesight is not all that great (no secret) she talks about it-
BUT she may drink out of YOUR cup or just swig her own cup of
painter's water by mistake (instead of her tea)
Linda(ItsyBitsyLinda), Cecilia,
Cathy-she FINALLY made up her mind,
Fran, AnnMarie, LaDonna,
SueZK , Karen Ann,
Pam Kitty, Connie and sweet LV.

Whew!
On we go:
Table #5-SHIVER ME SILVER
Here you will find Sylvia, Debra, Gina, Sandi,
Carla, Roxy, LaDonna, Gert, Jan, Leslie, Connie
and I only see one real smart aleck-Missy.
Everyone else is pretty normal (it seems)
AND I had to move Julie over here, too,
because I seated her a the wrong table- duh...
AND I forgot poor Cheryl!!! so added her here...double duh.....

Shifting to
Table #6-AQUA & RED- ARE READY-
Okay- so KayG WAS here and moved already...sheesh
Left are: Carol, Stacey, Lisa, Debbie(Lakehouse),
Amy, Karen, ckrut and Jettie.
Give Jettie a little extra space-she just had hip surgery. and for Lord's sake- DON'T BUMP HER!

Next up:
Table #7-ALL RIGHT WITH ALL WHITE & GOLD

Sweet Jenn, Louise (my card making friend) Nonie,
Kimberly, Vee, Kris and
Oh, Lordy-it is Ron and I just know he is bringing
RUM to pour in Kris's Diet Coke and that table
will be A MESS-trust me!

Table #8-BLUE SPARKLED BABY
You will find-Nancy, Ellie, Dianna and Wendy.
They should have a nice conversation
because the table is not crowded full.
I love this table and, honestly, they are
ALL MUCH QUIETER
 than most of us....
You ARE quiet, Nancy, Right?
I know the other three real well.

AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST
#9-FROZEN TO THE SEAT

You might know that there are
a couple of TROUBLEMAKERS here.
Tete likes the table but wants me to move it inside.
Hello.....Do I look like a moving company?
Adam likes the cold and so does Lauren,
Sweet sweet Rose, Gay and BJ...
Oh-and Bethany WANTED to sit here
but chickened out because of the cold.

So...I hope I didn't INSULT ANYONE
If I did TOO BAD  I'M SORRY.

I guess I am going to have to make this
a monthly feature.
I have even more fun reading your comments
than you do playing along.

Guess I best post tonight being as it is
the last day of January!
Thanks for commenting and choosing.
I'll be back...
that's  a threat promise!

PICK YOUR FAVORITE JANUARY TABLE!

I haven't done one of these in a while
so I thought it would be fun.
I found several
WINTER TABLE SETTINGS
to show you here.

Your duty is to pick the one you like best
and VOTE on it.
I know SOME of you have a hard
time picking just one but  please try!

I did a little research and the first time that
the word tablescape came into use
(as best they can trace it)
was on Sandra Lee's show
on the Food Network.
Who knew?
I always thought the word
TABLESCAPE was coined by
Martha Stewart herself.

Anyway-
Without further rambling here are your choices.

Which table would YOU like to sit at?
I'll provide the food and you provide the company.
I think we will ALL pass on #9
even as pretty as it is!

I'll give you the tally in a day or so..
I am still working on my son
with a very exciting
NEW BUSINESS VENTURE
and want to share that with you soon.
Just trying to get all of our ducks
in a row and the media end of it set up.

So--there you have it--
Don't PICK your nose FAVORITE!

ANOTHER PRAYER REQUEST---FOR MY GRANDDAUGHTER

When you are an active kid
there is always the chance
that you will get hurt.

My 15 year old grandgirl
LULU
fell on the ice yesterday.
She started to fall on her back,
twisted and instead fell
FULL FORCE
on her face and the side of
her head.
This was taken at the hospital.

At the ER they did a scan
and it appears there is no
brain bleed
but she has a severe concussion.

As a teenager of this generation
she is
a social media butterfly.

With this concussion
she needs to stay in a dark room
for several days.

NO TV
NO iPOD
NO FACETIME
NO MOVIES

NO NUTHIN'

Send up a little prayer that
her headache disappears
and that her face stops hurting
and that she can rest and relax.

I am looking forward to her
bouncy, chattery self!

PRAYER REQUEST UPDATE & A little prayer request

Just to let you know-
My friend, Jettie,
came through the surgery
just fine.

She is in her room recovering
and will probably go home
this weekend.

Keep her in your prayers for
TWO THINGS---
A Speedy Recovery
and
That she is PAIN FREE
once she has healed.

AND PRAY THAT
She gets some coffee
first thing in the morning...
Cuz without it...wellllll...
This could be her----
Thank you!

I'll be back soon with
SOME GOOD NEWS!

A SPECIAL PRAYER REQUEST FOR JETTIE'S SURGERY

GOOD MORNING!
If it weren't for Jettie
I would have never started blogging!
She has been an encourager
on so many levels.
I hope this prayer request
is some small token
of repayment for her friendship
and help over the years.

Jettie has had several surgeries
in the last few years.
After this last hip surgery failed
she has been in a tremendous amount of pain
for a couple of years!

She has had to use a cane,
a walker and a wheelchair.
Tomorrow she will have
 a surgery to fix
the damage that occured
after the last surgery.

Please say a prayer for her.
Pray for a safe surgery
 and pray that this surgery
WILL END HER PAIN.

For those of us that have experienced
long term pain,
we know that you can sometimes feel
helpless and hopeless.

This surgery is offering her
HOPE.

I you are not a pray-er,
please wing up some healing thoughts
and good wishes.

Thanks so much!
I will let you all know how the surgery went
later this week.

ps- I am not gonna tell you how old
she is because
you wouldn't believe me anyway.
She has that 'baby face'
BUT
trust me-
she is part of the
"old as dirt"
group that I belong to....
and if you tell her I said that
I will deny it vehemently!

So---I am off for a class this morning-
and will check back later today.

Have a wonderful Tuesday!

A SWEET LITTLE PIECE OF WINTER- THE WINTER SPRUCE

I wrote this a
while back for a
Gardening Group
that I used to belong to
and thought I would share it here.

It looks like
January
to me!
The spruce stands in full glory,
A pretty sight to see.
As daybreak catches glimpses,
Of the snow upon this tree.

He lifts his boughs to Heaven,
To give glory and full praise.
He stands in solid tribute,
To the Maker all his days.

He shelters every bird's nest,
He guards it; standing green.
And he beckons to the bunnies
As they hide & remain unseen.

He will stand there oh-so-proudly,
If we will let him grow.
For he's living just as we are
And this is what I know.

A man with all his knowledge,
Cannot create a tree.
He can only guard & keep it,
For the gift of life is free.

DO YOU BELIEVE YOU CAN? CAN I BE A HIPPIE AT THIS AGE? HMMMM...

Well...
Jumping in with both feet
and hoping my butt will follow.

I am sad to say I no longer
have a camera.
I gave two of them away
at Christmas.
I was going to use
MY PHONE
to take back few pics--
Yes! I! Was!

But then-
I surfed the web a bit,
found Pinterest and...
well...here you go.

Here is a day in my
Imaginary Life.
Can I get an Amen to
THAT THOUGHT?
Sometimes all we have to do
is believe in ourselves...
even if others are consumed with
doubt...
I do believe that I CAN!

Morning will find me on my way
to Starbucks or taking a
grandgirl to school.

This is a scene that is common in
our neck of the woods this time of year.
After a drive through
Winter Wonderland,
sipping my hot coffee,
I would love to come home to this
Sweet Tree
holding court on my sun porch.
Walking into my kitchen
I would find these happy
little faces smiling at me.

And, instead of making
hair bows----
I might be tempted to make
a sweet little skirt...
or two...or three....
Won't be making one in my size,
thankyouverymuch,
because I already am
HIPPY enough.

Oh- Hippies---
Remember the 60s & 70s?
I do---
I loved the clothes-
Fortunately,
I missed the drugs and free love
that was part of my generation.
I was
TOO RESPONSIBLE
to do anything too wild.

I am thinking of going back to
being a hippie...
but this is what I am afraid
I would look like now...
Oh! Wait!
I will never be
THAT SKINNY!

Have a good day-
Let your hair down and
have a little fun!

I'll be back in a couple of days
to share what new venture
I have embarked on....
Who says an old dog
can't relearn their old tricks?

1960s/70's FOODS FOR THOUGHT (OR MEMORY)

It was so much fun reading
all the comment about hair & products
from the 60s & 70s.

I thought it might be fun to
visit the
FOODS SOME OF US  MIGHT REMEMBER.

Let's start with breakfast.
Any of you ever eat these?
OR
Notice how they proudly displayed the word
SUGAR?
LOL-That's a definite NO NO in today's cereal aisle.

After a nice bowl of cereal swimming in
WHOLE MILK
did you wash it down with
OR
one of these?
Maybe mom was downing a quick cup of this-

You went off to school and came home.
Did you have this for an after school snack?
Or maybe this?
CHUCKLES!!!!
Did your mom make this for dinner?
SPAM THE ALMOST HAM

It might have been served with side of this:
Or maybe you were from a modern family
and ate these?
And what did you have for dessert?

After a nice dinner did you sit around and watch
Did you snack on these while watching
the old black and white TV shows?
Or maybe you had a box of
CRACKER JACK
back when they had
REAL PRIZES!
Maybe you washed those down with this...
While mom, being ever weight conscious,
poured this over a glass of ice...
And..sometimes a little milk got heated up
and you drank a cup of this before
going off to bed in a sugar coma.
Feel free to share your own wonderful
food memories!

I will tell you one little 'story'
that I am NOT proud of----
When MAGIC CHARMS came out
I WAS CHARMED!

I ate so many of them at one sitting
that I was sick for 2 days...
yes-indeedy---
To this day I cannot even think about
eating them
without feeling slightly nauseous.
So, if that is on your morning breakfast menu,
please take me off the guest list.
Because
TRUST ME-
It will not be pretty if I show up!

Have a great day-
fill it with
GOOD MEMORIES
not like the one I have of
LUCKY CHARMS!
