Lest you think I have
SAILED OFF INTO THE SUNSET
I have not---
Although sometimes I wish I could.
We have had some of the most
spectacular sky shows this summer!
I have been getting our house ready to sell.
This was not an easy decision.
This was going to be our
'forever home'
but cancer changes everything-
from day-to-day living to long-term plans.
For those of you that don't know-
we have lived in 15 different houses
over the years-
bought and rehabbed all of them.
We were 'flipping houses' long before
anyone knew what that meant.
That does not count the times we moved
and rented in between as we looked
for a house to rehab.
When I am done staging
(which is going to be soon)
I will post some pictures of our house-
No longer HOME-it is now a HOUSE.
But this is NOT a sad post-
Nope!
This is about overcoming and moving forward.
Here is MyHero with his two brothers,
Steve & Paul.
John used to be the BIGGEST ONE
in the group.
He said the
CANCER BONUS
is that he lost weight.
I guess you gotta look for the
GOOD THINGS THAT COME
AFTER CANCER.
MyHero continues to recover.
He is still not able to eat
but he has gone back to work
on a part time basis.
He still tires easily but his
spirits are good.
I have lots more to share-
things I have painted-
things I have changed around-
things that have happened-
but I don't want to make this too long.
Why bore you all in one blog post?
So, I promise to not be gone
so long this next time-
I have missed you!
I will leave you with your smile for the day.
Looks like we have our own little
in the family.
Daddy took CJK to work and he fit right in.
HEY! NO SMOKING
in the office!
Oh! It's a SUCKER, huh?
And--after a long, hard day at work
you need to eat a TWINKIE orange slice
while lounging ON with your cousin.
The funny thing is that-
neither one of them thought that
was weird....
Have a wonderful Wednesday.
I promise to be back soon
and will try to visit you even sooner!
Your photos are so cute! That last one cracks me up. Kids do the weirdest things - I love it! YourHero and his brothers sure do look alike. Where are you two moving to? Downsizing? Closer to kids? I know you will nest right in to your new house and make it a home just as you always have!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see the after photos of the house and look forward to where life is taking you and John next.
ReplyDeleteI've been meaning to write you a note and ask how you are doing. Well this sums it up! Yes cancer does change our lives and often for a lot longer than one could have anticipated. I often say I don't know how we got through it all with our daughter back in the 90's. I wish John's ability to eat normal again would come back- such an awkward thing to deal with. I guess that is one way to lose weight but certainly not any choice a person would normally make to do it! Great picture of the brothers together. It's important to take those pictures when the opportunity strikes. Love the photos of the boys back to back.... love is felt and shared in many ways! OMG that photo of CJK going into work is precious! Little man!! :-)
ReplyDeleteThis has certainly been a busy couple of seasons for you, girl. But I'm glad that you keeping the faith and pushing forward with a smile on your face! Knowing that God is moving you on to a new abode, a new journey, and hopefully a less stressful time in your life is comforting to say the least. :) I will continue to pray for you both as you step out on this exciting life path, dear one!
ReplyDeletexoxo laurie
I have been thinking about John a lot lately. I HATE that he still can't eat. Ugh. My uncle just finished his treatment for cancer of the saliva glands - he has a feeding tube also, but thankfully he has been able to swallow smoothies all through, not sure about food yet. But he looks happy and we REALLY need to see you two.
ReplyDeleteBeen thinking about y'all. I know packing up the house and selling will be bittersweet, but the memories can be taken with you. That picture of CJK is a riot. And, how did he get that big already?!!!
ReplyDeleteOh, lovely! (-to the family pics and one of your hubby with his brothers) and well done for even thinking about a potential house move in this big year of ups and downs! I truly hope that you will be blessed with just the right new home, in due course. So great that yourHero is coping well (but oh it is hard to still be unable to eat : (
ReplyDeleteThe journey he's been on! ~ wow... and you too.
I have thought of you often. I've been in a writer's block sort of mode lately and not posting very frequently or keeping up very well.
See you again soon I hope!
x Alex
I especially love people that use the word 'lest' :D
ReplyDeleteGood luck with your house sale. Glad that your husband is recovering. I wish him continued improvement.
ReplyDeleteHey there! Great to see you back again and I bet your house goes really quickly. I hope you have a new one picked out. Recovery from such a serious cancer and treatments takes a long time, but sometimes that seems to make the healing better. That was my brother's experience. Love the pics of the kids. Yeah, I think that's probably a normal stance for guys. Anything goes! Love to you and your family. You take care of yourself. Xoxo
ReplyDeleteSo glad to hear that your husband continues to heal. I can't even begin to imagine all you and your entire family have gone through. Good luck with your house sale!
ReplyDeleteOh Diana, so glad to hear from you. What a job you have had, getting the house ready for sale, plus taking care of John and working at the VA.
ReplyDeleteI hope you are getting some rest, you don't want to get down.
Your grandson looks great going to work. You should sent that in to a AD Agency, maybe they can use it.
Take my dear friend,
Hugs
Mary
May God continue to bless you both. It is good to see your Hero with his brothers. I know your house will be beautiful when you are through staging it. John and I just moved a week ago so I know all the hard work, worries etc. that go along with buying and selling.
ReplyDeleteSending love and prayers.
Thanks so much for the update.. I was wondering where you'd gone :)
ReplyDeleteWe have missed you Diana! Your hero looks wonderful and I hope he continues to get stronger everyday. I'm looking forward to seeing your projects and hearing all about your house. Good luck with everything!
ReplyDeleteHi Diana, so good to read your update. I know preparing to move and sell is a huge undertaking. So glad that John is recovering even in small steps. Great pic with his brothers.
ReplyDeleteYour grand is so cute off to work with his dad.
Looking forward to your house staging.
Blessings my friend xo
I've missed you but see you've been very busy! Getting a house ready to sell is no small job. Do you have an idea of where you will be moving? I hope it will be easier to maneuver than where you are now. Gotta love the grandkids.
ReplyDeleteDiana,
ReplyDeleteSo glad to see a post from you!! I can't imagine moving once let alone all those times. Probably if we move it will be into an apartment where everything will be maintenance free!! Looking forward to your next post....
Hugs,
Deb
Good to see your post today. We certainly know that cancer can cause all kinds of changes in our lives - most of them not good. But, you have your precious John and will make a home wherever you go, I know that. Praying for a quick sale and smooth transition. Love the photo of John and brothers. Precious photo of the little businessman. So cute. Continuing to pray for you two daily. Love ya.
ReplyDeleteJudy
Wow, I can't believe you are selling your home - that's a huge decision, but no doubt you have not made the decision lightly. Good to see you back, and that John is back to work - I'm sure he needed that! Love the photos of the grandkids - so cute!
ReplyDeleteOh....bet you sell your house really quick!! A place on the lake in Packer Country??? Who could pass that up!!! Do you know where you are going to your next destination??? Love your grandchild pictures...he is so cute!!!
ReplyDeleteDiana, you have been one busy gal! John looks so much better; I am certainly happy he is feeling better. You two are in my prayers daily. I know it was a big decision to sell your home. It's also so much work to ready a home to sell and make it a house! Praying you will have a quick sale and easy move. Your little businessman is so stinking cute!
ReplyDeleteDi I commented over at face book. Miss you but I have quality of life now with the injections Specialist applied in both knees.
ReplyDeleteNo pain in legs or stiffness but wont have knee operated till A year Specialist doing operations one after the other. So he gave me the alternative to go with the injections.I am walking on bone on bone and my right hip is not steady. So I have been everywhere my legs will take me but I now know my limitations. Bow Slow down Nelly. When you feel good. You do more than you should. In your case you have to get house prepared for sale you have no choice really. Not easy and be chief cook for family and then be a altogether wife mentally and physically for John. Not easy but with many prayers. God has given you all that is required for your needs.
Hi Diana! Your resilience and positive attitude are such a blessing to your family. Praying for John every day, and now also, for a smooth transition as you sell your home. And - as always -love to see what the grands are up to! So cute! Jane
ReplyDeleteFirst day I've checked Blogger for weeks and weeks! What a treat to see a post from you! You've evidently been very busy, and there are more than likely busier days ahead! Continuing to have you, John, and all the family in my prayers! XO
ReplyDeleteWe are so happy that John is doing well and we love the picture of the 3 brothers together! They look great!!!! So glad that you are ready to sell your home and make life a bit easier. We sure do miss all of you and look forward to seeing you all soon!
ReplyDeleteLove and blessings,
Peggy and John
Love your photo's Diana, and I wish you all the luck with selling your house. We went through that last year and you know I understand. it is so good to have you back even if it is every now and then. Take care and I'll be looking for your next post.
ReplyDeleteHugs,Sylvia
So glad to read your update. That's big news about putting your house up for sale! That was a wonderful picture of Your Hero and his brothers (No family resemblance there!! ;) )-Jenn
ReplyDeleteYour hero and his brothers are looking sharp! So happy he is doing much better, maybe his appetite will get better as time goes on. I'd hate to think I had to pack up our house to move but it's never far from my mind that "someday" that day might come....it will come for all of us most likely at some point.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to seeing where you land next!
It is so goo that YourHero is recovering ♥ Blessings ♥

What a great photo of the two boys, one lounging on the other.
ReplyDeleteDiana, Oh thank God, I have missed you something awful. Thank you for showing John and his brothers. They look good. CJK is adorable. I miss having little people around..our Emma is 12 and a long legged giant now. I try to keep her squeezed down. Please hug the family for me. Take care of yourself...you are the glue , you know. Blessings, xoxo, love, Susie
ReplyDeleteSo glad you're able to return soon. Been missing my "fix" of NanaDiana. No one else makes me snort my ice tea like you do! I actually saved the picture of yourHero with the two grandgirls putting something on his head while he sleeps sitting up in his chair. That was the all time favorite post for me.
ReplyDeleteI've missed you! Where in the world are you going/moving to? See you back here soon!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad John is able to work some again, and hope he will be able to eat some again soon.
ReplyDeleteMoving is a big job...we are starting to transition to a move, too. Hope the house sells quickly for you!
You do have such sweet grandkids, Diana! xoxo
Hi,
ReplyDeleteI am excited for you. Will you stay in Wisconsin?
Sending prayers,
Carla
You know change can be good - and you have a new home to get ready and i bet the old house will sell fast. I didn't know John had two brothers - but I'm glad he does. He looks better. So where will you move? I love what you are doing and painting!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Love how cute that little Ad-Man is. And do you remember the days that were so simple and you just leaned on one another and thought nothing on it! God bless you too! Sandie
ReplyDeleteJohn is looking great! My husband John had brothers named Steve and Paul also (plus a David). What's up with that?! Must be the New Testament roll influence.
ReplyDeleteYou can make a day sparkle and shine, Diana. I know that you will work wonders with the house that is no longer a home and the home that becomes more than just a house. You sound as if you are getting into it! (I hear it is one way to get a lot of decluttering done.)
I loved the story of the cousins...yup, just the sorts of things they do and think nothing of it.
Good luck Diana with the sale of your house. Like you said cancer changes everything! You will find something that you can call home. I love the other photos you posted on the post! HUGS my friend!

ReplyDeleteWhen you get tired of staging houses, could you come and fix mine up? Thank you!!
ReplyDeleteLove the photo of your hero with his brothers, all handsome men!
And that AD-Man! So cute and funny.
Do not know know how you do it. Moving is not my thing. I have moved the last time until they haul me off. No doubt what you are doing makes money, but still not my cup of tea.I have not been around in few days due to computer issues and still have some. That young man is a perfect business fellow at an early age. So cute. Take care and stay in touch.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to seeing how you staged your home. LOVE that sweet little office boy all dressed up. Hugs all.

Glad to know John is doing well. I hope you are doing well too? I am sorry that your moving, I hate change but sometimes it is for the better. The sunset is beautiful...just like you!

ReplyDeleteGood to hear your hero is doing better. Time will take care of those other things. It does change a person's life. Great photo with the three brothers. I see you still have your sense of humor..such a sweet person. Your little man is quite the businessman. Beautiful sunset photo...Thanks for your visit Diana. xo
ReplyDeleteGod Bless and keep you and your hero always and ever. May you be happy and content and a;ways grateful for each day and each blessing and all the love you have as a family.
ReplyDeleteI adore the Ad Man! He is one I could not resist. Thank goodness he is working in a firm that does't affect me or I would be a goner to his charms.
It's nice hearing from you! Glad John continues to improve and other things going well, too! Your family is looking great - the brothers and the kids are so precious! Moving can be very stressful so don't overdo it and take care!
ReplyDeleteSo great to see an update from you! Missed your posts. Glad to here he is beginning to feel a little better and go back to work, I've been praying and will continue to do so. Sorry you need to move again, I do understand that change very well. Wishing you all the very best on this new chapter in your life. I love your humor and good spirits, but I also know you're hurting and my heart goes out to you. It's one of the hardest things watching those we love in pain and going through tough times. Many blessings to you and your family. You all sure deserve them! *hugs* Jill
ReplyDeleteHey there, Diana! Seems lots of people are moving for one reason or another. But oh my. 15 + times is a lot of moves. Hope the sale of your house and move to the new place all goes smoothly. Glad John has made it back to work, even if it is only part-time. The picture of the boys is too cute. Hugs,
ReplyDeleteCecilia
There you are! All cheerful and being strong and moving forward. I'd like to borrow just an ounce of that please! So happy to hear from you and look forward to follow you on your next adventure xoxo P.S. I finished the book. The ending blew me away....still thinking about it. A great book is when it is still with you a while after you read the last page....
ReplyDeleteI remember when you styled your friend's house so I know that yours has got to be looking beautiful and buyer-friendly. And your new forever home will suit you both right down to a T. Your little Mad Man had to have been a big hit at the office!
ReplyDeleteYour Hero is a hero to all of us, Diana, and you are too. I'll pray that this move will go well and then maybe you two can relax a little and enjoy beautiful sunsets every evening.
Love to you,
Dewena
Home isn't a place. It's a feeling. <3
ReplyDeleteHome is where ever those you love are. xoxo
ReplyDeleteHome is where you make it and I'm sure you will fill your new home with lots of love and laughter!
ReplyDeleteThat grandson of yours is just a cutie! And that last picture is hilarious! Kids sure do the funniest things...
Glad to read an update from you ;)
Thinking of you often,
Amy
Best wishes on your move. Your little grandson is a cutie pie.
ReplyDeleteOh friend, how I have MISSED you! I am glad you are doign well though you have had much going on...maybe that's why you've been on my mind.
ReplyDeleteI hope your new house becomes a home, dear one. Being with the man that you love will surely make it a place of joy.
LOVE the photo of CJK with his book bag - what a cutie!
Know that you are not far from my thoughts. Love to you!
HI Diana, sure have missed you. I am glad that your Hero is going well. Always praying for you all. Your pictures area great as usual. I love the last one the most. It's not weird. It's sweet :)
ReplyDeleteCant wait to see the house pics
Take care, Janet W ((( BIG HUGS)))
Sorry about the mistakes :) Also I love the fist pic of the grandson with the bag. Ready to go to work. So cute :)
ReplyDeleteYou were missed!....but now we know what has been going on.
ReplyDeleteWe moved nearly two years ago from our 'forever' home. You're right - illness changes things. We've adapted and embraced the change, as I know you will. Another 'home' is right around the corner. Good luck with the sale!
Oh how I love your home and property and know that you did too....but you two are beginning a new adventure....and knowing you, you will be making the very best of it with that forever positive attitude of yours that keeps things going....you are definitely the glue that holds all things together. Loved every pic....you always add a blast of sunshine to each day!
ReplyDeleteSo glad to hear that John is doing well. Life is full of twists and turns. When it comes to health problems you really don't have much control and it effects every part of your life. I will be looking forward to your next journey of getting a new house to turn into a home.
ReplyDeleteGod's continued blessings on you as you start this next part of your journey.
ReplyDeleteLove, hugs & prayers ~ FlowerLady
Still praying for John and your sweet family. I am amazed at your spirit and attitude. What a blessing you are to your readers like me!
ReplyDeleteDo glad to hear from you. Missed you! I am happy to hear your husband is doing well and continues to heal. I wish you the best with your move and in your new home. Keep us posted! Lots of hugs, Maria
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear from you Diana and glad John is doing well. He continues to be in my prayers. His walk through this has been an inspiration and a testimony to our mighty God. Oh, you're selling your house? Well, I love your attitude and you have to do what is best for your family. Good luck with the spiffing and staging and I'll be looking forward to seeing it as you've teased us for so long by not showing it to us! :) Take it easy and thanks for much for popping in with your comments about Instagram. We'll see how it goes.
ReplyDeleteBe a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
Wow, moving and you have moved 15 times. Dang, that's a lot of moving!! I hate packing and unpacking. I wish we would downsize, but can't quite get the man on board. I'm glad to hear your hubby is doing better!
ReplyDeleteGlad your hero is better, sad you have to move. But, I'm sure it will work out right for you in the end. Moving is such hard work, even though you've had lots of experience....so prayers for you on this new adventure....can't wait to hear more.

Hi! it has been awhile since I have read your blog. I am glad to hear your husband is doing better and able to work part time. May he continue to improve! I learned I can sign up for e-mails to be notified of bloggers new posts so I have signed up for yours! Slow learner! LOL We are going through a similar experience as you as have just sold our second forever home and living in a small apartment until our third forever home is built where they do the outside work. Hubby has to use a cane now for balance because of his neuropathy and I have lyme disease so we couldn't keep our yard up so unto another new beginning! Wishing you the best! Nancy
ReplyDeleteDiana, I will keep you and your hubby in my prayers. Glad he is doing better. Good luck with your sale. I would love to pick your brain, as I contemplate a move myself. My 2nd in 23 years. Not too bad.
ReplyDeleteYou are never boring!.. Glad to hear your hero is continuing to recover.. and I look forward to your new house adventures! Downsizing is not a bad thing - best of luck in the sale and search!
ReplyDeleteDearest Diana, sending hugs, love and energy as you get your house ready to sell. Hi fives for having such a good attitude about it; cancer has a way of changing ones perspective. You and hubby have had a challenging year., but you keep shining.
ReplyDeleteLove you girl!
Noreen
Life does seem to get in the way o our best intentions. I have cut back to one post a week this summer, but sometimes even that doesn't happen. I am happy that you are almost finished with getting your house ready to sale and I do hope that it happens quickly. You and John are in my prayers. xo Laura
ReplyDeleteThanks for the update, Diana! I want to say I'm sorry that you're selling your house, but you have a positive attitude about it. So, I hope that your house sells quickly and that you're soon on to a new place to make your home. {{hugs}}
ReplyDeleteDiana, those pictures of CJK are so funny and sweet. Boys can brighten our days in the smallest ways. I can't wait to see pictures when you start staging your house. Don't work too hard on everything. A house will sell when the right buyer comes around. They'll either pass it up, or LOVE IT, so don't get discouraged. It's one of the most tiring things selling a house, but if anyone can get through it, it's you. So glad John is doing better. :)
ReplyDeletelove, ~Sheri
Diana, I guess there comes a time in all our lives for whatever reason that we have to downsize. We were just speaking about that yesterday. Doesn't mean we have to like it, but maybe just a little excitement as we go along. Frankly, I'd love to have another home to decorate??? That makes about as much sense as one boy laying back on another. They are so funny and cute at that age. Love the work outfit. He must have had such a good time. John is looking good and so glad that he is now back in the work force. I'm sure he is enjoying that. Don't work too hard but I am looking forward to see what is going on..Happy Thursday..xxo Judy
ReplyDeleteFifteen times?? Wow, I bow down to you!! I have moved twice and I am exhausted every time I think about it! ;-) It's always great to hear from you and I am so happy that John is doing so well. That is the best news! I can't wait to see your pictures and all of your staging. Fingers crossed for a quick and painless move! xoxox
ReplyDeleteAww. Too bad you're moving again. But life does throw us these curve balls, doesn't it? It's good to get an update on your husband - glad he is working. What a cute little grandson!
ReplyDeleteYou're selling my house? Where will I stay when I come up to visit :) I'm so glad John was able to go back to work a bit. It must be good for him to have something to do.
ReplyDeleteWith every breath we take, life changes. Sometimes for the good and other times, not so much! You and John continue to be in my prayers as you prepare, once again, for transition! God be glorified through it all, I know He will, and I know you will flourish in this newest season of life. Kids and Grandkids keep smiles on our faces even through the roughest of times - YES! Blessings to you, Cindy xo
ReplyDeleteHi Diana,
ReplyDeleteI'm excited for you and hope you find the most delightful new nest. Hugs to you and John.
You will find a new home in which to create another stage of memories. What an adorable little businessman. Now there is a memory!
ReplyDeleteI'm wondering what your next home will be like, ND!
ReplyDeleteI have a feeling you are working very hard. Take time to put your feet up and gaze at the lake, okay?

ReplyDeleteI have a feeling you are working very hard. Take time to put your feet up and gaze at the lake, okay?
I have lived in the same house all my married life except the first year and a half! But you are right; life changes our intentions. We sometimes have to adjust to a new normal. My husband's medical stuff gave us the "opportunity" to do that as well in other ways.
ReplyDeleteGood Morning sweet friend. Your post just made me smile today. That CK is just adorable. I see him doing wonderful things in the future.
ReplyDeleteHe's a keeper. I cannot wait to see your re loves. Glad John is doing so well and back to feeling somewhat normal with being able to work.
Happy Friday. Yeah Week End!
Hugs,
Kris
Hi Diana! So good to see a post with John smiling and feeling a bit better.
ReplyDeleteYou must be working yourself silly with all you have to do.
I loved seeing your little businesman...so adorable!
Take care of yourself in all this craziness...you don't want to fall asleep and give little Anna the chance to put marker makeup all over her Nana! LOL
xoxo, T.
Dear Diana, many thanks for this update. Life is filled with twists and turns, isn't it? I'm glad to stand on the Rock of Ages who never changes.
ReplyDeleteLove that little man!
Hi Diana! John looks good on that photo. I am still praying for him many times a day. I do hope that he will one day be able to eat as that's one of the things I am praying for. You must be so busy. Good luck with everything and with selling your house. It's so sad that you must but I suppose it's a necessary thing to do under the circumstances. You're very brave and courageous. Take care. You also are in my daily prayers. I think you are so special.
ReplyDeleteYou've got lots of handsome men in your family...especially your precious hubby. I hope and pray everything works out. I know you are both go getters so I know you'll do great! Hugs, Diane
ReplyDeleteI want to steal CK right now! No one should be that adorable except me....I hope selling your home is a good thing and you next one will be your forever home. John looks good in the photo and did the Chemo damage keep him from eating? Big events do put things in perspective and life takes turns that bring new experiences. Will you be moving closer to the kids?
ReplyDeleteI hope all goes well with your move. Your grands are so precious.
ReplyDeleteI love your enthusiasm for life, Diana. It's contagious (or infectious?) you know. I've only been through selling a house twice (and staging 3 times, last time didn't sell) but I can relate to how stressful it can be. But you've got this:) So glad to learn you two are chugging along. Life is an adventure, and you two deserve the best! My prayers will continue for health and for peace. Not that you need my prayers with so many kind souls in your corner! Let me know if you move to the Chicago area, would love to hang out as well as help in any way I can. xoKathleen
ReplyDeleteyou're moving to Virginia right??!!!
ReplyDeleteDiana, I never knew you flipped houses before, wow... I can't wait to she how this one shows for sale... I love you attitude that it's okay that you are leaving what you thought would be your forever home... I know you will find something else you like just as much xox Thank you for being there for me and always lifting me up with you awesome comments xox
ReplyDeleteOh he is absolutely adorable in the office!! :)
ReplyDeleteOh he is absolutely adorable in the office!! :)
ReplyDeleteDiana, your hero really has lost a lot of weight! He looks good and happy though. That's a good thing! Best of luck with your home. What are your plans? Moving to Utah, maybe? lol! Little man is so cute in the office and I love the two of them leaning on each other!! I am so slow at getting over. I went to your etsy and see that your books are no longer available. Keep me posted if more come up for sale.
ReplyDeletehugs,
Jann
Stunning photo of the water and sky! I know you've been so busy with the house but hope things will settle down soon. You remain in my prayers sweet friend!

I was just thinking about you the other day, and thought I hope all is well with her and her husband and then I finally click on bloglovin this morning and there you are. So happy to read this post. Made me laugh...Hugs
ReplyDeleteOh, you always make me laugh, Diana, no matter what trials and tribulations you are going through - which has been ALOT lately, my dear. I don't know how I missed this post, but as soon as I realized it I was so glad to see you are posting again. Selling your home couldn't be easy, and I do hope your next home is perfect in every way and maybe less work, seeing a certain special someone doesn't care for trash duty these days. Love the photo of the brothers and that little lady-killer at the office! I still can't stop laughing about them not thinking it was weird. Kids are so funny. Thinking of you all - sending hugs xo K
ReplyDeleteSo good to hear from you and to know you are okay. Love to see the picture of John and his brothers. He's looking good. He's gone through so much. And then there is the little Mad Man...how adorable he is!
ReplyDeleteMy thoughts and prayers are with you,
Gert
Hi Diana, I am new to your blog and I need to catch up with your posts. Love all the photos you shared. I will pray for your husband. Blessings!!
ReplyDeleteGlad to read this update - I have wondered.
ReplyDeleteGLad J is back at work. Sure hope he is able to eat again, soon.
Selling your house must come with mixed emotions but hope you find a home that you will fill
With much happiness and new adventures.
You and Jon are often in my thoughts. I hope you are staying in the area! I really want to meet some day!

Always good to see a post pop up from you, Diana! Glad to hear that John continues to improve. Lots of luck with the sale of your home, and looking forward to hearing about your move!
ReplyDeleteI have not been posting much either, and haven't even been doing too much at all in social medias; so I was surprised to read that you are selling your home. So often we have those "this is forever" scenarios, but then life happens and things change. I'm guessing you might be down-sizing because of John's cancer and recovery. I certainly didn't have the complications that John had with treatment, but I was told it could be a couple of years before I gain total strength and stamina....radiation is the big culprit. Each day I have to decide between going to the gym or actually getting some household chores done...I typically choose the gym because it is good for my ongoing health. I just don't know how long I can ignore the floors or those little kitty paw prints in the dust on my side tables....LOL! Anyway, I hope and pray all good things for you and John.
ReplyDeleteYour little "office guy" is way too cute!
Hugs,
Carol
Holy moly. I've been outta blogland for so long. I felt the urge to pop over and check in. A lot has happened! Cancer free!!!!! Wow. I was thrilled to read the good news from your end. And selling!? Another wow. Life, and all its bits and pieces, brings on unexpected changes, doesn't it? We buried our old man kitty this afternoon, and I just wrote to a friend who was checking in because of it, and had asked how I was doing today. I told her, tis a blessed life. With all its messiness, it's still a blessed life. Good to scroll through and catch up. Best wishes for a positive next step.
ReplyDeleteI can't even imagine where the next path leads. Maybe Walmart? Just glad that you've got your hero with you. Your style seems to have changed a lot so why not start fresh with another house? Can't wait to see where you end up!
ReplyDeleteOh all I can do is give giant hugs.
ReplyDeletePraying for all to go well with the house sale- that's SUCH a big deal, and I am so sorry - but better days ahead maybe, huh?
Your little ad exec is so scumptuously adorable in that tie, button down, trousers and brief case I thought I'd giggle myself right off my chair.
Read my last 3 posts to catch up - well the couple before my latest one maybe.
Love you lady. Hugs to your Hero, too. ♥♥
Best wishes on selling your house and your husbands cancer fight.
ReplyDeleteHugs Diane

Having trouble leaving comments...hmmm...paying things go well with the staging and sale. Although, my idea of staging is sweeping the room with a glance; I mean, who has THAT kinda time???

Be blessed my friend and take all the time you need. So thankful for good report of your Mister. I'm sure you had a lot of pulling him through times. Even though you are strong, you get tired too. Prayers will continue for you and your loves and you face this new time in life. I understand. My house still doesn't feel like home and that makes me sad, but it will in time and so will yours.
ReplyDeleteGod bless you and John! Your flipping houses comment made me smile. My grandfather Kocman was into holistic healing long before health food stores and DoTerra and all the stuff today that is suppose to change your life for the better. I think I lost a friend or two as a result of opening my uncensored mouth to comment about some of the business ventures they got into. Oh well....you and John are smart doing what you have to do. The two of you and your health and well being are what is most important. I will always pray for you my friend. Much love to you and John both. xo
ReplyDeleteWow, I'm sorry that I missed these posts of yours... where did time fly to? I always enjoy the pictures of your grandkids, and your funny stories, always SO blessed to visit with you! Flipping houses is a lot of work, and now you certainly have lived in an incredibly beautiful dream home, but you are right, cancer is such a thief, and I'm so sorry for that, for you and for everyone! Will be praying and believing that wherever the Lord takes you next, it will have everything you need and want. He is able! :)
