FINISH IT UP FRIDAY---FIVE FOTOS

Well, LUCKY LUCKY YOU!
I found a whole other file full
of pictures that
don't really have a "story line"-
although I could probably
CREATE A STORY
to go with them.

But-here you go!
I love the colors
of fall shown here.
This house is in NY state.
This is what it looked like this week
as a storm was coming in from the west.
Today it is raining----again---
Our trees are all bare now.
While MyHero was away a few weekends ago
my son(s) came over and put in a new
office floor for him
as a surprise.
We have hardwoods
through the whole upstairs
but put carpet in this room
on a lower level.
Hated it from day one.
New floor-old rug-
MyHero loves his nautical theme.
I saw this converted closet and thought it was a
GREAT IDEA!!!!
And another cute idea that would work
in a dorm room or an efficiency apartment.
Isn't that clever?
buy the plan here
Getting my  picture files cleared out feels
SO GOOD!

Speaking of feeling good...
Losing weight has FELT GOOD.
BUT............
It is not without its pitfalls.
What?
Losing weight has pitfalls, you ask.
Why, Yes!  Yes it does!

What most of you don't know is that I wear
SKIRTS or DRESSES
sometimes, most of the time, all of the time, often.
Pitfall there?
I also wear a half slip under my skirt or dress
because I don't like it "clinging to me".
Yep- I am old school that way.
Still no problem, right?

WRONG!
I was walking
IN A STORE THE OTHER DAY
when I felt something "tripping me"..
ummm...
my SLIP had SLIPPED and was around
MY FEET!
This is a re-creation at home.
I was NOT going to take a picture
in WALMART!
YESSSSSSS!  WALMART!
I fit right in with the best of them.
What did I do?
I cleverly stepped out of it,
picked it up with the toe of one foot,
caught it with my hand,
stuffed it in my purse,
 and continued shopping.

I expect to see my picture on the internet
with my slip around my ankles
ANY DAY NOW!

Hope YOU ALL have a good day!
If you are out and about
LOOK FOR ME.
I will be the one with no clothes slip on!

Oh- Yeah!
BE CAREFUL!
It is
FRIDAY THE 13TH!
You know what that means!
BAD LUCK!
Like YOU might LOSE
your marbles something
in Walmart yourself.

  1. I bet that was embarrassing! I can picture you going on, with slip in your purse, as if nothing had happen.
    Love your photo's.
    Have a nice day!

  2. Ha ha! Oh my gosh, Diana...only you! Of course, you handled the "slip-hap" with your usual style and grace! Is this karma for all the Wal-Mart pictures you post?! Anyway, congrats on the weightloss - that's awesome! Jane

  3. Oh dear... a wardrobe malfunction! Sounds like you dealt with it with as little fuss as possible. We've all had our moments. Too bad yours happened in Walmart! That book nook picture is great, by the way. -Jenn

  5. Diana, You know someone saw that slip...yikes. I hope your shoes went with your purse. LOL. You kill me girl. I love the new flooring with the rug. That nook is for me. I have no extra closet though. I think that's a beautiful fall picture. If I lived there, I take a picture like that and make cards from it. Blessings to you, you thin thing, xoxo,Susie

  9. Don't you hate a wardrobe malfunction? Great recovery! I love the new floor and the fact your sons put it in as a surprise--so sweet! The rug is great, also. Be careful with your skirts, Diana----I don't want to see you on the news again... Have a great day! xoxo ♥

  14. Lol.... that's a good thing, a great excuse to go shopping for new clothes! :-0 I love that book nook idea too, I have it pinned ;-) In my current den the previous owners built a recessed nook for books and I love it! Not quite as big, you can't sit in it, but still neat. Have a fabulous Friday the 13th!!!

    Blessings,
    Jill

  15. ROTFL~~ I can just see your slip around your ankles. Too funny. I think you'll be shopping for some new dresses. I like a half slip too when I wear a dress. Just wired that way!! Love your hero's new floor. Gorgeous wood shade too. That little nook made from a closet is a great idea. I would love to do that in a closet. Love your first fall photo. Have a great day! xo

  16. Hello Diana, your pictures are awesome and your slip story is even better....I wear a lot of dresses too and GOODNESS, I have had nightmares of the same thing happening. Great save and I'm sure no one noticed. I am one of your newest followers. Take Care and have a nice weekend.

  18. Happy Friday Diana! I think I finally figured out my comments on my blog. It is no longer linked up to g+. Woohoo! It's funny I have had to unlink it twice & it keeps going back. Have a blessed weekend! :)

  19. First of all, that is the most beautiful picture at the top of your post! Wow! I can't believe that your slip just slid off of you like that. That is too funny! Hmmmmm.........I haven't had any clothing just slide off of me in a long time. Guess I should go on this diet too! Ha Ha.

  20. Good think you weren't arrested for stealing the slip - just kidding. I love the new look for your husbands study- nice of the boys to do that. Like the dorm room too. Gosh I wonder whose house that was in New York - it was gorgeous!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  21. Oh, no, I am headed to Walmart this morning.....I am so glad I am not wearing a skirt (too cold and windy....the wind could blow up my skirt making for another WM picture) today.
I would say you are losing weight big time...congrats...this is good knowing you are getting more healthy every day! Thanks for the laugh today.

  22. Oh my goodness!!! This was absolutely a delightful hoot! Congrats on the weight loss, looks like Santa will need to bring you some new clothes this year!

  23. I love all your pictures and especially the one of the bed that doubles as a dining table. That would be great in one of those tiny houses everyone is so crazy about.

As for your slip... I was laughing so hard because the same thing happened to me! Only I was walking down the street in center city. I neatly stepped out of it and walked on, leaving it laying on the pavement. You don't think I was going to claim it, do you? Oh, Diana, we are kindred souls.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Nice recovery... just flipping it up with your foot. But, losing your slip is much better than losing your underpants. That happened to an older lady my mother used to take to lunch.

    ReplyDelete
  25. :-) I am just glad no one thought you might be shop lifting. LOL
Three cheers for you for handling the situation with style. ;-)
    Have a blessed weekend!

  26. Thanks for the roaring laugh at your expense! I can't type I'm still laughing so hard. You are the height of sophistication girlfriend. How sweet of the boys to install that beautiful floor and I love the rug as well. Now ... back to that slipping slip ....

    ReplyDelete
  27. Well hey, it's better than coming out of the bathroom and walking around the store with toilet paper stuck to your shore! That's always been one of those weird things I check for.

Love that book nook and YourHero's new floor! Does he have a picture of the Edmund Fitzgerald on his wall?

    ReplyDelete
  28. Ok, so now, I have lost my underwear in Kmart and you have lost your slip in Walmart. Aren't we a classy pair? ;)

    ReplyDelete
  29. Hahaha...oh my! Yes losing weight can be a pitfall to clothing not staying up. Maybe you need to get the sewing machine out and fix them? Then you're saving money and your clothes stay up! ;0)
Loved the Fall photo. That is so pretty! Even though your trees are bare, it still a remarkable view. Love it!
Love the wood floor! We have all wood minus the boys rooms, they have carpet....one day I'd love to do wood in them too.
I hope you have a great weekend, Diana!
    Hugs, Amy

  31. Diana, I thought every good Wisconsinite carried a roll of duct tape in her purse for emergencies such as this. ;-) Lol

  32. I always knew that you were very graceful. Not sure I would have handled the "accident" as well as you did! You should celebrate, though, if you need to buy a new slip! Congrats:) Oh, and I want to buy the house in the first picture. xoKathleen

Thanks for the laugh, it was great... and I loved the picture of the storm coming in the bay with the sunset - remarkable and beautiful!

  38. Beautiful autumn picture! And your sons did an excellent job for their father! Diana, I did a post once called Your Slip Is Showing and man o' man, yours sure was! No one could have handled that situation with as much aplomb as you did though. We were married on a Friday the 13th so have always considered it our lucky day, well depending on what kind of day we were currently having, that is. Now, I've got go back in your posts because I think I missed out on hearing about you losing weight. Congratulations, my dear, because that is not an easy thing to do!

  39. Hahaha! Perfect Walmart " incident ". I'm sure you've seen those videos on YouTube. Love the new floor and rug. Sweet surprise too.

  44. Loved your post. You make them so interesting and different. The Autumn in NY is simply breathtaking.

  45. Bahahaha! I was going to start by saying that your Hero's floor looked great and what a nice surprise.....and then, you had to drop the slip on me. I had to laugh out loud to keep from snorting! I really don't shop at Wal-Mart, but if I see your picture on Facebook....I'm not claiming ya! HaHa!

  46. I made it til 7:30 tonight without realizing it was Friday the 13th..Did I even realize it was Friday?? Beautiful Fall pic of that home in NY..Some clever ideas there..Love the book nook...The floor looks great..Nice surprise..

    ReplyDelete
  47. Oh my, oh my! You have become one of the Walmart people.....well, from the knees down! Reminds me of the time as a middle schooler I was walking home and noticed a hole in my pantyhose. I started pulling at it and it ripped badly to the point of taking the whole leg off! My route was through a few residential neighborhoods and a busy intersection! Not sure who saw me! Love the new floor...so pretty! That closet book nook is fabulous too!

    ReplyDelete
  48. Oh, wanted to say too that Friday the 13th is not so bad. It is my wedding anniversary date and 13 is a lucky number in Italy, where we spent our honeymoon. It is a nice number to me!!

    ReplyDelete
  49. You are so funny! My hubby could top you with his story of sneezing and his top teeth flew out and bounced down the aisle and landed at someones feet! I think is it nice that you wear dresses and skirts. Wish I could do that. Do you wear slacks to take care of your animals? Nancy

    ReplyDelete
  50. !OH MY!!! You REALLY need to stay out of walmart!!! I think it's great that you wear dresses & skirts. I would if I were thinner! I stayed home today. Felt good.

  53. Great photos! Love the fall leaves - so pretty! I never get up to the mountains to see the peek before it rains and the trees all go nekkid! It's gotten cooler here and now is finally feeling like fall. The grand kids were still wearing shorts to school earlier this week! Good for you on your weight loss! I had another friend who lost her panty hose at church! LOL! I'll let you know when the new "people of Walmart" shows up! Have a great weekend! Hugs, Leena

  54. That is just hilarious, Diana! Leave it to you to not miss a beat and pick it up with your toe:) Maybe you should start wearing full slips from now on...................:)

  56. That's hilarious, Diana! It happened to a friend of mine years ago on a street in NYC. Yikes! Love that closet turned book nook! Hope your hero was happy with his floor!

    ReplyDelete
  57. I had forgotten that today was Friday the 13th! Seems like we have had several this year. The slip slip was so funny. I used to worry about that happening when I was young and would have nightmares! You handled it gracefully!!

    ReplyDelete
  58. I love the closet turned book nook. As for the slip story, our late pastor used to share a story from his early days....a woman came forward at the end of the service and her skirt slipped to the floor! He said his wife and several other women stepped forward to surround her while she pulled her skirt back up! lol
    Sending big hugs.

  59. I like the new floor. Very pretty. You must be one of the few women to still wear a slip! I still have a few, but don't even know where to buy them anymore. Slips and pantyhose seem to have gone the way of the dodo.

    ReplyDelete
  60. The new floor looks wonderful!! You are so thoughtful, Diana.
Now about that Walmart photo of you.....when I find it...it's going on my blog for sure!!!!

    Enjoy your weekend.
