FINISH IT UP FRIDAY---FIVE FOTOS FOR FUN~and a couple of OLD SECRETS

I can hardly believe it
but I am getting my photo files
all cleaned up doing this
Finish it up Friday thing.

When I search for photos to use here
I am deleting some and moving others
into their proper storage folders.

Whoo Hooo.

SO!
What is up this week?
MY LITTLE STAR---RIA
is off to a dance competition in
Chicago.
She always takes a prize.
She is the most graceful little girl
I have ever seen.
Even when not dancing
she moves like a dancer.
Isn't she a beauty...
with a little SASS thrown in for fun.
Makes me want to cut hearts out of leaves
when I look at her.
Don't you love this idea!?!
I HEART this little guy, too.
This old dollhouse sits under a covered "porch"
on the front part of our garage.
CJK- is fascinated by it and always checks it
to see if "fairies" are inside.
He KNOWS they are there.
On my side porch off the dining room
I have a glass topped table & chair set
 I bought from my
neighbor years ago.
I pull the cushions off it for winter
and it starts looking bare.

But-who says that a
FRUIT CENTERPIECE
won't work outside?
AND if you use fake faux fruit
you won't get "critters" eating them.
I send them  next door to eat the
neighbor's pumpkins.
I am a good neighbor that way.
Speaking of FRUIT---
Have you seen this little "trick"
on the internet somewhere?
Is that cute or what?
Cutie-pie clementines
with a piece of celery for the stalk.

source unknown

Well, there's my FIVE photos--
of course #1 counted as THREE pictures,
I suppose.
I never was very good at
FOLLOWING THE RULES
and I have the deportment remarks on my
old report cards to prove it.
I blame my father for that...
hey---gotta blame somebody.
He was a smart-aleck, too.

This is a TRUE STORY!
When I missed school I
ALWAYS wrote my own excuses to turn in
to the teacher in charge of truancy.

ONE DAY
I asked my MOM to write my excuse for me
because I was in a hurry.
When I turned it in they called HER
to see if I had
FORGED MY EXCUSE.

SHE was MAD at ME
for that!
Seriously?!?!???

Maybe if you are
REALLY GOOD I will tell you about
the time I tipped over backwards in
Accounting class and my
full skirt and can-can
went up over my head.
I blame Charlie Watson for that!
He put his feet against the legs of my chair
when I went to push my chair back
to stand up.
Pfffffttttt...
Mrs. Harkness never liked me anyway.
She liked me even less after
THAT INCIDENT.

  2. Good chuckle today with your stories, you baaaaad girl! Thanks for leaving me a comment and letting me know the material in the painted pumpkins was chenille. I was having a senior moment and so just skipped over the name by calling it rough material ;-0 Your little Ria is a classic beauty. I've heard that used before, but when I saw her pictures, I understood the term.

  3. You always have been a hoot! Do you suppose that Charlie still laughs over that?! Yes, I have seen those pumpkins and I do think that they are adorable. And those leaf hearts are also adorable...I haven't seen those, sometimes I cut hearts from birch bark.

  5. Ria has the look of a star! Those photos are done beautifully of her. Writing your own excuses- gees why didn't I think of that!! You just reminded me of how I fell over backwards in an office I worked at- leaning too far back in my chair. I flipped over and my legs were straight up and I also had a skirt on...such a graceful moment! NOT....

You're right.....Ria looks so graceful! And, your faux fruit looks pretty graceful, too.

  7. You are something else, Diana. Your Ria looks like she takes after you. I can tell you are a loving Nana---you speak so fondly of the grands. How lucky you are to see them often. There is nothing like being a grandmother! Oh and your centerpiece is beautiful! My squirrels would find a way to tear it apart! ♥

  8. Ha! That's funny! I make my kids sign their own tests for me...some teachers in high school require that...and the one time I actually did it, I got that same call!!! Oh boy! See, twins, you were right! ;)

  10. LOL...... You are hilarious! And Ria is BEAUTIFUL! I hope she does well in her dance contest and has a really good time. She looks like a dancer. Even in the head shots you can see the in bone structure in her shoulders that she is perfectly formed. What an AMAZING Creator we have that formed every little detail of her body so that she could dance her little heart out! :-)

  14. Oh dear, I am laughing at the skirts flying over your head, although it couldn't have felt very funny at the time. We must be kindred spirits, I'm not much of a rule follower either. Your granddaughter is beautiful, makes me wish for the days when my little girls were in dance and all dressed up in their cute costumes. *sigh* I can only dream of future grands :) Your doll house is delightful.

  15. I don't know about you, Diana. Can't even follow your own rules for five photos. And then trying to blame someone else for flying backwards on your chair in class. Not to mention those excuse notes! I am SO GLAD I have gotten to know you. You always make me laugh.

  30. Great pictures! Kids are always so cute and photogenic! The fruit bowl is a neat idea and so nice of you to allow the squirrels to go next door to eat! We can't have them starving, right? Of course,I'd love to see one running around with a rubber banana in its mouth! Not sure why I find that image amusing. Guess I'm just that way LOL! Don't you love remembering those stories from when you were in school? I'm sure it was mortifying at the time, but funny now. Thanks for the laugh and enjoy your day! Hugs, Leena

  37. Lol, I'd say your pretty aria gets her sass from her grandmother. ;)
Your school stories made me chuckle...I was usually the good one but I had a couple of teachers that brought out the sass in me. I still think I got a "C" in one class because that particular teacher did not like me (the feeling was mutual).
The clementines are cute! And I love how CJK believes fairies are living in that dollhouse. Awwww!
