Back when I first started blogging
I used to do something called
Magazine Mockery.
It was basically ADS that I found
that I would put my own
"SPIN" on.
I have a full file folder of those ads
that need to be
EXPLAINED to MY liking.
I think Saturday is a good day to do this feature.
Everyone is busy and spending family time
so these will be
VERY SHORT READS.
Here we go with
AD #1
Roger told Connie that he had agreed
to install the expensive new refrigerator
because he thought she would fill
it with lots of healthy foods...
and start cooking more.
He gently told her, over cocktails,
that although he loved her dearly,
he was sick and tired of
drinking his dinner.
Happy Saturday folks...
try to NOT drink your dinner!
Cute, Diana!

Roger is going to be "wearing" his liquid dinner!!! Happy Sat.
ReplyDeleteDiana, I'm laughing and it's much earlier than normal!! That's just too cute!
ReplyDeleteDiana, Have you ever seen a real fridge looking like those in ads.?? Where's her tupperware left-overs? LOL. xoxo,Susie
ReplyDeleteI remember when you used to do these. One of my favorite parts of your blog! I agree with Mildred, Roger will soon be wearing his dinner!
ReplyDeleteHaha. Love it!
ReplyDeleteGreat sense of humour!! Who has a fridge that looks like that?!?! -Jenn
ReplyDeleteI think I must have started following you after this..
ReplyDeleteI promise I won't drink my dinner today!
I'm still drinking my morning cup of coffee! Is that acceptable? lol Have a fabulous day my friend! Hugs, Diane
ReplyDeleteGood Morning Diana, I have enjoyed the chuckles in catching up with you this morning. I am enjoying spending the time with the boys. The rain didn't help to much this week. I love the pictures of the girls and boys. I would miss not being able to see the kids as often as I do. They are my stress reliever at times. Congratulations on being an author. I am proud of you. Well I am off to see my other half. He feels neglected because I haven't been there as much. It is a good change of scenery. Have a wonderful day. We are going to have more rain. Take care. Hugs and Prayers from Your Missouri friend Shirley
ReplyDeleteoh my,,,, drink your dinner, well, I know some people drink their dinner in the form of Slim Fast, remember that stuff!
ReplyDeleteOh, Diana, only you would think up that scenario. I'm up to chapter 11 in your book and loving every minute of it. It's hard to put down and gets better as it goes along.
ReplyDeleteI am enjoying my second cup of coffee and reading your post. Poor Roger deserved a good solid meal. No drinking our meals here...LOL
ReplyDeleteThanks for your sweet visit. I am awaiting your book. xoxo
LOL Love it, what a cool idea!
ReplyDeleteI would rather EAT my calories than DRINK them any day! :-) That being said, a nice glass of sweet tea, since I'm from the South, is really cooling on a hot summer day.:-) xo Nellie
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to Saturday's!!!
ReplyDeletexoxo,
Vera
I don't know, I think Connie is trying to get Roger's mind off her not cooking, by wearing that strapless number ;). I am so thrilled with your new book!!! You have been entertaining us readers with your off-beat wit for a long time! Blessings to you.
ReplyDeleteMaybe Roger is the reason Connie drinks her dinners.

I like your idea of doing Ad Spins on Saturday, great idea.
Oh, how cute is that one! I love this idea. Do more!
ReplyDeleteAnd Connie told Roger that a nice new fridge would be a great place for him to chill whenever the idea crossed his mind that she would be home all day filling it with healthy food and cooking for him.
ReplyDeleteROFL Can't wait to see the rest of these. That fridge is big enough for his corpse too! :-0

ReplyDeleteDiana, I don't think I was around when you did your Saturday Ad Spins cause it's new to me. Look forward to seeing more.
ReplyDeleteOh, just wanted to tell you that the beaded wire heart is a wall hanging. It was so pretty in the shop that I couldn't resist, and I already hung it in my guest bedroom. Another person thought it was a necklace, so it must have looked like one. :~)
