NEW WORD WEDNESDAY - #3

Our new word today is brought to us by
SWEET CHEEKS!

She has always had a whole
repertoire of her
OWN WORDS
that she developed as she
learned to talk.
Your new word today is
HORRUNGUS!

Here is how it is pronounced
HOR-EE-UNGUS

HORRUNGUS is composed of two words:
Horrid & Humongous.
This is an example of something
HORRUNGUS!
Hmmmm....Kinda looks like
MyHero when he gets up in the morning.
Of course, that would be
BEFORE COFFEE!

Here is what
HORRUNGUS
looks like at Walmart!
Although this may just be more
HORRID
but is not a comment on size...
face cut off to protect the guilty
As usual, your mission for the week
is to be able to use
HORRUNGUS
at least once this week.

And you can't use Walmart, either,
I already did!

Have a wonderful Wednesday!

  3. Cute- and I understand this language as I've been known to do this myself! That photo of the gal at WalMart is beyond words!

  5. Diana, You know Walmart has the best choices in Horrungus around.... next place would be Gas America service stations.. They come out with a soda that takes two hands and some times the crook of their arms, cigarettes and scratch off tickets. Ewwwe. I always say, if your soda take two hands to carry, you may be drinking too much soda. LOL. Some people need a list of priorities, I guess. I am glad you posted about sweet cheeks....I have missed her. Have fun today, xoxo,Susie

  9. Oh how cute Diana. I love the made up words a phrases kids come up with. I remember when Grace called cheerleaders "team girls" and Michael would refer to the cashier at the grocery store the "paying station". So wonderful how their little miinds work.
Hope you are enjoying a beautiful spring day!
    XO Barbara

  11. This is a great one! (I'm pleading the Fifth on the Walmart thing. To be honest, the worst I've done there is to run to pick up a necessary thing or two while wearing dirty gardening clothes. Even then, I wasn't the worst dressed person in the place.)

  12. Diana,
I love SweetCheeks word! But with the Walmart photo I'm just wordless! I guess in her world no mirrors exist!

  14. Great new word! Well done, Sweet Cheeks! Now just when I am wondering WHAT Wal*Mart? Where?! I am remembering a group of young people who looked stoned or emaciated and then we realized that they were dressed in wild animal skins. I kid you not. When we went outside, we saw one of the young men seated on the ground leaning against the building wearing antlers! If I had a camera, I might have taken a photo. Apparently they were living in the woods and were getting pretty hungry, not to mention dirty. We did consider calling the police because those kids needed an intervention. Oh my! Now that's another story I've not told.

  15. Jalen and I don't make up words....but we agree that we can be goofy at times and that is good. I'll have to think for a bit on HORRUNGUS. I am off to grandparents day at his school this morning.

  25. Oh Diana... Once again you have me in stitches!
I just said to my husband " its Wednesday and I must go and see what our word for the day is" glad I didn't miss it. :-)
Wow! That's quite the man you wake up to in the morning.
I really have a hard time comprehending people in wall mart and their mug shots.
Just amazing! And I worry about what I look like when I go to town?
I will certainly use my new word this week.

    Enjoy your day,
    Debbie

  27. No fair!!! You made Walmart off limits! Lol. Today I saw a similar sight and made a comment, not where anyone could hear, after which Mr. Conscience (aka Mr. C.) called me judgmental. I truly wasn't but knew how miserable she must be feeling. So there, Mr. C.! I simply think so many don't know that feeling better is easily within their reach. Now I'll stop with my HORRUNGOUS comment.

  28. Honestly I don't think I can come up with anything more horrungus than those Wal Mart photos. I can't believe they actually allow people to shop in their stores that dress like that!!
Great word-I vote for a publishing of "The New Edition Sweet Cheeks Dictionary!"

  29. Sweet angel of death - where do you find these pictures, Diana!?!

Things at work will be horrungus this week with humongus amounts of paperwork to be dealing with and horrid paper cuts from said paperwork!

  30. Such a cute pic of SweetCheeks! I saw a HORRUNGUS-ly dressed woman when I was grocery shopping today. (and no, it was NOT at Walmart!). She was built like, well, the woman in the photo, wore skin tight super short shorts (which showed off her very well endowed pasty white legs), and was wearing short little "bootie" style boots...................

  31. For me...that word would probably be used to describe a headache...yep, that's the kind I get! Sweet Cheeks is such a cutie! And, I think I'll just stay away from "W" thank you very much :) Blessings, Cindy

  32. Do you ever think that SweetCheeks has a face shaped like Reese Witherspoon? Look at her little chin. She's darling.
I will get plenty of opportunities to use her word...especially when I have to clean up one of Jack Henry's horrungus "accidents". ;)
Did they kick you out of the VA yet for all your shameless flirting? I bet you received a couple of new marriage proposals!
    xoxo, T.

  33. Oh my, what are some people thinking when they leave the house! I think that word is a close cousin to humungus!! That is one I used as a kid for something large!

    ReplyDelete
  34. Oh, that SweetCheeks has a vocabulary all on her own, doesn't she? Such a sweet post, Diana, and I am enjoying all these new words, and trying to figure out what they all mean haha because I know they mean something to this precious child. :~)

  44. That adorable child keeps you so entertained! The only thing I know about the word that fits perfectly is that I'm positive I look "horrungus" every morning of my life. Especially NAKED! Yeah. That's it. Perfect word to discribe me! I would send a pic..but..I would have to cover up face to protect the innocent..and that would be cheating. It takes the entire ....anyway. You get the point. Sweetcheeks does it again!! :):)

  49. As always whenever I see one of these "Walmart" lovelies I don't know whether to laugh hysterically or to wretch violently - Horrungus may not go quite far enough to describe this beauty.

    ReplyDelete
  50. HAHAHA. That is definitely a great word! She is a keeper!
