Our Dear Friend, Dr. Allen Ball, Has Passed Away

Thank all of you for your prayers in the past.
Our friend,
Dr. Allen Ball
went home yesterday morning.
He is no longer in any pain
or suffering on any level.

He was a man that did
so many good things in his life.
He will be long remembered
by the medical community
and those that love him.

Please keep his wife and family
in your prayers.
His wife, Carol, is shown here with Allen
right after he got the cancer diagnosis.
Rest in peace, Allen.
We will miss you always and forever.

New Word Wednesday

Now - before I start this I want you to
remember something-
I do NOT SWEAR on my blog-
I just don't.

I don't like to offend anyone
SO-if you are
EASILY OFFENDED
you might want to move to another blog today.
However,
I think MOST OF YOU will see
the humor in this.

My son was about 3-1/2 and he was standing
outside with the neighbor
(who he called GRUMP-PA for obvious reasons)
when a rescue squad went by.
Apparently, GRUMPpa said-
There goes that damn ambulance.
Here is your
NEW WORD for WEDNESDAY.

DAMBULANCE!
It is composed of TWO WORDS
Damn & Ambulance.
Mama's Boy thought that was the
REAL NAME of this!
He would say...
Look, Mama!
Here comes the DAMBULANCE!

He was a REAL HIT in church school!
It took us TWO YEARS to convince him
that it was JUST an
AMBULANCE!

So--YOU can choose whether (or not)
you would like
to incorporate this
NEW WORD
into your vocabulary this week.

You all have a great day.
I am going out to try and eradicate some
DAMDELIONS!

It's Time! Another PICK YOUR FAVORITE---PLAYHOUSE FOR GIRLS

I think most of you know that we built a playhouse
for our grandkids when we built this house-
using leftover materials.
I won't post that one here though.

Instead pick one YOU love-

Ready to play along?
You are building this house for a favorite child
OR for
your INNER CHILD!

I'll bring the tea and cookies
and you can pour!
Which place shall we play in?

I have a special guest that said she would
read us a story!

Here is what MyHero does
when I put MY FAIRY COSTUME on
and want to read HIM
a bedtime story.
Pffffffttttttttttttttt-

Happy Tuesday-
I am off to see "my boys" at the VA

I Come To You With A Heavy Heart Asking For Prayer For Beth Marie

One of the bloggers I discovered early in my
blogging life was
Beth Marie
Her blog is

I emailed Beth Marie quite often
outside of the confines of
commenting on her blog.
In the past few weeks I have not had
any response to my emails to her
and I have been
anxious and worried about her.
Yesterday her good friend,
Carol, @ Rambling On
did an update on her health situation.
Beth Marie and I talked because
she was dealing with same type of cancer
that a friend of ours dealt with.
He has had recovery with some
permanent side effects.
However, it has not been a
good journey for Beth.
She has fought the good fight with
radiation and chemo
and has suffered a lot of pain and anxiety.

At this point she is in hospice
and is looking towards
GOING HOME.

Please pray that her passage is a peaceful one.
Please pray that they are able to control her pain
and give her and her family
peace and comfort.
I have shed tears for her
just knowing her as a blogger-
I can't imagine what her family and
close friends are going through.

Please pray for a peaceful journey for her..
or- if you don't pray-
please send good wishes and kind thoughts.

Thank you!

I love you, Beth Marie, and I know
you won't read this but I think God
will let you know!

I will be gone today with
the grandgirls
so bear with me-
I will be back Sunday.

Finish It Up Friday- Five From RIDING WITH NANA

Last weekend I had all three girls sleep over.
On Saturday morning, Ria had to go to dance.
That meant I was left with
Thing One & Thing Two.
Thing One
CANNOT KEEP HER HANDS OFF MY CAMERA!

We are riding along and she is taking selfies
and giving her sister
DIRECTIONS.

SweetCheeks!  Smile for the Camera
OK
Sweet Cheeks- Make a FISH FACE.
OK
SweetCheeks-Do it again-Another smile.
NO!
Come on, SweetCheeks-
I'm taking your picture anyway!
I SAID NO- Lulu!
I'm not going to even look at you!
Okay- SweetCheeks.  Just one more
and I'll leave you alone!
Show us what you feel like
when you have to ride
in the car when PAPA is driving!
And now you know why
I DO NOT RIDE WITH PAPA!
That is EXACTLY how I feel!

And while they were doing this:
Our dancer was doing this-
praying before performing-
Happy Friday!
Hope you have a great weekend!

The Tale of TUXIE The Tuxedo Cat And A Prayer Update on Krista

We went away a couple of weekends ago.
Just before we left I looked out the front door
and there was a beautiful tuxedo cat
sitting on our porch.
He looks EXACTLY like the tuxedo cat
we had 15 years ago.
It is just plain EERIE!
Anyway, We can't have a cat right now
so we stopped by our shelter,
which is a no-kill shelter,
on our way out of town.
CLOSED
They had a number posted for Animal Control.
"Leave the cat on your porch we will pick him up".
We are gone for 2-1/2 days.
We come home and
my heart sinks to my feet-
TUXIE
is now sitting by the
BACK DOOR.
On the front door is a note from animal control
that says-
THE CAT RAN AWAY!

Okay-
We go get cat food, litter,
a litter box and a scooper.
We set the cat up in our heated garage.
We call the shelter again and they have a posting
that someone has lost a tuxedo cat
SIX WEEKS AGO.

We make arrangements with the lady to
pick her cat up....if it is her cat.

She arrives and she is OVERJOYED
and picks Tuxie up and
TAKES HIM HOME.
He does not look any happier to see her
then he is to see us.
We give her the food, the litter and the scooper.

Two hours later she calls.
It is NOT her cat.
Helllllllllllllloooooooooo-
I could pick my cat out in a room full of cats.
Anyway,
She has decided to
KEEP HIM.

We are thrilled because she is a nice lady
and you can tell she was lonesome for her kitty.

Long story short
already too late, isn't it
TUXIE has a new home!

I swear-the strangest things happen to me.
Now-if I could only find a home for this one-

If you'd like him I will arrange
transportation.
You will have to put your own collar on him
and litter train him though.
His name is Squirrely but you can feel
free to change that if you'd like.

Update on Krista!
She is out of ICU--still not able to come home
but getting better.  Debby and her family
thank you for the prayers for all of them.

NEW WORD WEDNESDAY-#4

The new word today applies
to my
HOME STATE of PENNSYLVANIA

The word today is about a city.
It is
PHILLYDELPHFREEYA

The word is pronounced
PHILLY DELPH FREE YA
(just like it's spelled, of course)

My daughter, Miss T, came home
with this one.
She said she was studying about
PHILLYDELPHFREEYA.

Me:You mean Philadelphia!
Miss T:- NO, Mom!
It's PHILLYDELPHFREEYA.
It's the City of Philly where they got free.
Me:  Who got free?
Miss T:I dunno-They didn't tell us that part yet.

Now- HERE'S what is funny about that!
MyHero corrected her!
He said, No, MissT....it is  NOT PHILLYDELPHFREEYA
It IS PHILADEL-THIA!
And, that, after 35 years of corrections,
is STILL how he pronounces it.
I would submit it to the state for a
City Name Change
but I am not sure which
pronunciation I should send in.

Okay- I am prepared.
They are BOTH going to be mad at me today!

IS BOSCH THE BEST? OR-Isn't it? Only The Consumer Knows For Sure!

This is NOT my usual post
but I want to put this out there.

When we redid this house a few years ago
I wanted a top-of-the-line double oven.
We researched and bought a Bosch
from a local dealer that I am NOT going to mention.
We have had Bosch dishwashers
in our last two houses
and they are workhorses.
We thought the oven would be as
good or better-right?

Anyway,
the Bosch oven was delivered,
 unpacked in the truck,
and brought in and set into place.
I was in OVEN HEAVEN!!!!
It did everything except stir the batter for me!
A year or so  went by and the oven would shut off
while it was baking.
I would go down, flip the breaker off,
and it would reset itself.
I called the dealer-
must be a fluke-a power surge at your house.
Odd-nothing else needed resetting.

Long story short-
Within 3 years they had put in a new mother board.
Within 4 years they had put in
a second mother board
and a new harness.
Each time meant at least 30-40 DAYS
without a working oven.
Within  6 years the thing would not work,
and the broke the door off trying to fix it.
AND-AFTER 5 YEARS they no longer
make the parts for them.
No problem- We have a 7 year warranty.
WHAT can you do to fix this thing?
HOW are you going to fix it?
Answer:Your unit is already 8 years old and
OUT OF WARRANTY!
REALLY?
How can that be?
Hmmmm...Seems the dealer gave us the
FLOOR MODEL-
which was already two years old.
OUT OF WARRANTY-OUT OF LUCK.
We are talking a $3,000+ oven here, folks!
MY SPLURGE in this house!
I was beginning to lose my sense of humor..

Guess what?
When you can't get satisfaction locally
you go to the
HEAD HONCHO-
in GERMANY!

Yes- Yes- it's true.
MyHero really WAS MyHero.
He went to the top of the chain
AND
-although I did not have a working oven
for almost a year-
we got a
BRAND NEW STATE OF THE ART BOSCH DOUBLE OVEN
FREE OF CHARGE!
(although we had to pay to have the
cabinet re-sized because this one is 2" taller-
but they threw in a couple of extras
that made it worth it)
I am NOT getting paid for this
but I do like to give credit where credit is due.
I WOULD BUY ANOTHER BOSCH OVEN!
I guess, just like a car,
you can get a lemon of an oven.
It does make you wonder if it was handled roughly
in the delivery...
and why it was UNBOXED before being
brought in.
(was there really a box at all?)

Here is my old baby-sitting in the garage
waiting to be picked up
by a local church group-
one of the men there is sure he can fix it.
Hope he can!.
Live and learn...
AND a local company that I
sent at least 15 people to
to buy their appliances will NEVER get another
referral from me.

So- at the end of the day-
WHO SEZ
there aren't good companies that will
honor their product out there?
With a BOSCH
you, too, can bake these-
or you can buy them from
Stauffers-like I did.
With an oven like that I should
be baking every minute....right?
MyHero thinks I am...shhhhhhh....

See you this afternoon when I am done
cooling my heels over at
THE VA!

PLEASE PLEASE PRAY for this young woman

I am sure a lot of you know
DEBBY @ COZY BLANKET
She is a wonderful woman,
a mother and a grandmother
that gives so much to everyone.

She is asking for prayer for
her beautiful daughter-in-law,
KRISTA
seen here with Debby's son and two grandgirls.
Here is what Debby said last week on her blog.

My daughter-in-law  had been having headaches

for two days when this was taken.

She went to the ER on Tuesday.  Then she went back

on Wed. and was admitted overnight .  The next day she was

transferred to a hospital in Columbus by squad. She is now

in ICU with a torn carotid artery.  They are still doing

testing.  Her headaches have not gone away.  She is on blood

thinners and being carefully watched.  She did have a couple

of mini strokes.  I think her prognosis is good but we have

no idea when she will be home.

I spent the night with the grandgirls.

They are so sensitive and miss her a lot.

They did face time and we all were crying.

Our DIL looked really bad.

I contacted Debby yesterday

and her DIL is still in ICU,

and not doing well.

Please pray that this

young, beautiful mother

is restored to health and her family.

Please pray for those two little girls, too,

that are missing their mom,

and Debby's son that is missing his

wife and worried sick.

Pray for Debby's peace of mind, too.

Thanks so much!

Debby and I both thank you for your prayers.

For those of you that don't pray

please send your good wishes and love.

I am at the dentist in the morning

and will be around later in the day.

LOOK WHO is here visiting for the weekend!

I have the unexpected pleasure of
THREE SISTERS
that showed up
after school yesterday
and are
staying with us for the weekend.
Plus TOMORROW night we will be adding
ONE MORE SUSPECT
to the fold
to spend the night!
That ought to be entertaining!
Plus- we are helping my sister-in-law move...
SO---as you can imagine
I am a BUSY GAL this weekend.

I'll be around on Monday
if I can still walk!
Have a great weekend
and
STAY OUT OF TROUBLE...
oh- wait---
it is ME that is supposed to
STAY OUT OF TROUBLE!

I think that is what my mother said to me
EVERY DAY OF LIFE
when I left the house.

PRACTICING TO BE A LAWYER AND A DENTIST

How does a
FOUR YEAR OLD
get so smart?

Mom:  What's the matter with CharlesInCharge?
Big Boy E:  HUH?  What?
Mom: Why is CharlesInCharge crying?
Big Boy E:  HUH?  I dunno.
Mom:( looking around)
Did you hit him with the golf club?
Big Boy E: You mean the one with the green handle and the purple head on it?
Mom:  Yes!  That's what I mean.
Did you hit him with that?
Big Boy E:  No! I didn't hit him with that, Mom!
Mom:  Well, did you hit him with
 another one then?
Big Boy E: What do you mean?  What one?
Mom (looking around and pointing).
Did you hit him with that one?
Big Boy E:  Which one?
Mom: (pointing directly at  one)
Did you hit him with that one?
Big Boy E: (pointing)
You mean that one?
The one with the silver handle
and the green head?
Mom:  Yes!  That one!
Did you hit him with that one?
Big Boy E:.  Yes! Yes I did !
I hit him with that one!
Mom:  Ethan!!!!  WHAT DO YOU SAY?
Big Boy E:  Sorry, Chaw-lie

And that, my friends, is how Big Boy E
passed his entrance exam to law school
at AGE FOUR!

Hope you have a GREAT Friday!
If you are wondering where I was
and why I didn't visit yesterday
I will tell you this.
I spent my morning like this:
My poor dentist could not get
me numb enough to be able to
deaden a "hot" tooth.
That means I get to go back on
MONDAY morning for
 SURGICAL STRENGTH
Novocaine (or whatever it is called).
Whoo Hooo-
Doesn't that just sound like a good way
to spend a morning?
Anyway, I spent the rest of my day
yesterday licking my lips wounds.
Now the only bonus?
This is my dentist!
Yeah- see what I mean?
That would be
Yes-that is his real name.
You can click on his name for
an appointment for yourself.
No charge for the free advertising,
Bobby!
You're welcome!
Look at that-He has nice teeth, too...hmmmm..
Did you ever wonder who does
the dentist's teeth?
Maybe that would be one to put on the list.
(oh-he is gonna kill me)
Maybe I should have waited until
AFTER my appointment
to do this post, huh?
Anyway-Have a great Friday!
