This is a long post with
lots of pictures.
Get yourself some coffee
and sit a spell.
Our Sweet Little
BRIGHT EYES
turned one!
That certainly is a cause for celebration.
One BIG REASON for
THE CELEBRATION
is that Mama & Daddy had
decided
No More Babies.
SURPRISE! SURPRISE!
THE BEST SURPRISE
in the world came along!
And, on the 11th she turned ONE!
Mama Mimi put on a most wonderful party.
I took so many pictures that I am going
to condense them into manageable bites for you.
The decorations were beautiful.
Balloons hanging from the ceiling,
pink flowers and picture collages
and a high chair dressed in a tulle skirt..
There was a full meal and then a
CANDY BAR set up filled with
PINK CANDY, of course!
Everyone had so much fun.
We put Bright Eyes in her tutu-skirted chair
to wait for something special.
Here it is !
The highlight of the day was
BABY'S OWN CAKE!
She looked around and didn't quite know
what to do with it.
AH-HA!
After a bit of encouragement
she decided she could EAT the cake.
However, being the dainty little miss she is,
she did NOT want to get her hands dirty.
She NEVER TOUCHED the cake
with her hands!
It was so funny to watch her.
We were all laughing so she laughed, too.
After cake it was time for a
SINK BATH.
Can you see all those curls when her hair
is freshly washed?
That is just like her Mama's was when she was little.
This was her present from me & Papa.
An American Girl Bitty Baby.
We always give one to each grandgirl for her
first birthday.
She is inspecting her new baby here.
Deciding whether she loves the baby....
Deciding she loves it enough to give it a kiss.
She got lots of kisses, too.
No one loves Bright Eyes any better than her
COUSIN LULU.
Speaking of LULU----
Let me tell you-
NEVER leave your PHONE where a LULU
can get ahold of it...
or, as we like to call her, the
SELFIE QUEEN!
Why, you ask?
Well, because when you get home and
check your pictures you will find
several hundred photos that look
something like this!
And now you know how she got her
NICKNAME!
She is DEFINITELY a
LULU!
LULU!
Have a great Monday.
I'll be around checking on you all today!
ps. SweetCheeks spent the night with me.
We might have had a
PINK PUKER IN THE BED
along about midnight.
Gotta love a
PINK PUKER!
She had a miraculous healing when it was
time to go see the new
CINDERELLA MOVIE!
Oh, Diana, what a sweet baby girl! And a perfect birthday to celebrate! Pretty Lulu too :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a cutie pie Diana..great pics!! Loved the highchair all dressed up in the tutu!
ReplyDeleteAdorable! All one-year olds have a similar reaction...what?! this is ALL for me? Love Bright Eyes's expression and the no-hands approach. Poor SweetCheeks...glad that the illness was a quick mover. And LuLu...very nice selfie with all those great effects. Stay vertical, everyone!
ReplyDeleteJust adorable. What a girl party!! So many sweets! Sorry they had a not so good affect on Sweet Cheeks.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful time that must have been .... definitely cause for a huge celebration! Our girls had Bitty Babies, too. I still have one of the Bitty Bears, sitting in an egg cup in my china cabinet
ReplyDeleteWow, what an amazing first birthday, Diana! Your daughter thought of everything, down to the pink tuille skirt on the highchair. I was drooling over the candy bar, how fun. But the kids all loved that! Little Bright Eyes is just adorable, I can't believe she didn't tear into her cake with her bare hands, how funny!
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful party for such a beautiful little girl. That tulle skirting around the high chair is the perfect touch. Such wonderful pictures. How much fun to have your grands nearby to spoil and love. Hugs!
ReplyDeleteBright Eyes looks like she really enjoyed the PINK party and especially her cake, which by the way, was beautiful! So glad the Pink Puker felt good enough to see the movie.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Jan ♥
What a happy post. I am all smiles.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful party - you missed nothing! I bet the girls all loved the pinks! sure hope you share/shared that with pink Saturday over at How Sweet The Sound blog linky party!
Did you love the new Cinderella movie? I was actually thinking of going this afternoon, but I have so much work to do. I cannot WAIT to see it!

ReplyDeleteWow! What a beautiful party for a beautiful baby!
ReplyDeleteDeb
Diana, I love the photos. Send Lulu over, she knows more about fixing photos than I do. :) I adore the look on Baby Girl's face when she saw her new baby doll. That is precious. Wow, what a nice cupcake. LOL. Your daughter had some clever decorating ideas. Blessings for a nice week of warmer weather. xoxo,Susie
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet birthday party and precious girls! xo
ReplyDeleteWhat a precious birthday party, and Surprises are something special when they look like BrightEyes.
ReplyDeleteNothing better than a pink birthday party! One of our girls was very dainy when it came to her birthday cake. Her twin, however, was another story and went at it with great gusto! Really funny to see the difference. Bitty Baby is a wonderful choice! xo Nellie
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness!!! I love every picture!!! Your granddaughter is so beautiful, and her pink cake is so cute.I love the candy bar too!! It's just perfect.
ReplyDeleteKathy
So much pink and so much sweetness ~ it looks like the best pink party ever! The too much candy part of the tale doesn't sound like as much fun, but I am glad she was up and about for Cinderella! Even as a grandma your bed is not your own, huh?
ReplyDeleteOh. My. God Diana - Bright Eyes is breathtakingly gorgeous !!!
ReplyDeleteI've gone up and down to look at her 3 times - she's perfect - absolutely perfect !
xoxo
What a Happy, Happy Birthday Number 1. Your grandbabies are beautiful.
ReplyDeleteoh that precious Baby!!! she has always (well, for her whole year) been a Joy and a Baby Beauty. and now, to hear that she was also an unexpected Surprise. how delicious.
ReplyDeleteactually, I'd figured that after 3 boys, mama and daddy decided to try one more time, for a girl.
but... they had actually rather given up. but she decided that she wanted to join their loving family. and so, she did.
obviously, mama and daddy are over the moon, about having a little girl. ,-)))) as well they should be.
boys are super. we had two of them. but oh, there is something about having a little girl baby. to dress in pinks and have bows in her hair, and precious dresses when she gets a bit older and...... well, I rest my case, with the tulle decorated high chair. :-)
hugs all round... Tessa
Good Morning, Such a perfect 1st birthday party for such a precious little girl. I loved the expressions on her face and the pictures with her baby doll. Her mama definitely knew how to plan a party. Sweetcheeks has a wonderful grandma who takes very good care of all of her grandchildren. They keep you young. Hugs and Prayers from Your Missouri Friend Shirley.

LOL What a fabulous party...if they do that when she is 1, I can't imagine what her sweet 16 will be like. She is adorable.
ReplyDeleteAlways a fun post on your blog --- even with an 'uncomfortable' ending. Guess Cinderella cures what ails you!!! Sally
ReplyDeleteA pink tulle highchair for the sweet Bright Eyes...adorable. I love to watch babies with their birthday cakes! I can't believe she didn't smoosh it. As always, I love seeing pics of your girls and all the fun you have with them. Poor Sweet Cheeks...I'm glad to hear that Cinderella cured her of her, ummm...condition. ;)
ReplyDeleteWhat a precious party in pink! I saw Cinderella this weekend too, and it was magical. It will heal the sickest of children or adults!
ReplyDeleteSo precious. All that pink goodness, and those sweet girls. We too loved our Bitty Babies around here.
ReplyDeleteDiana I'm so very late to the pink after party! Template and final estimates today called me away from from favorite bloggers. I am charmed by all the adorable photos of bright eyes! The pink tutu, fit for a precious ballerina in her highchair with the giant cute pink cupcake! I too did the American girl with my Grand... I think it is a lovely tradition for girls. Now gotta say we should introduce your Lulu to my Gabby, both selfie queens! What is it with the selfies with these girls??? Show me a camera and I run!
ReplyDeleteThank you Diana for sharing your beautiful Grands with us.
xoxo,
Vera
Oh so cute! You guys really go all out when you party! I just love how she wouldn't touch the cake! At least she didn't throw any around the room. lol.
ReplyDeleteHow sweet it is! The good Lord knows what is best for us when we don't. Bright eyes is a jewel fro heaven. All your photos and blog will be a treasure to her when she is older.
ReplyDeleteDid your family have a pink birthday party for the whole town.?You sure go out or come in with a Big bang. Oh wow! I seen your note say you would be a way yesterday so having my lunch of soup in a cup now Monday. Love the pictures. Oh she is darling that Grand-baby of one year old.
ReplyDeleteShe loves dolly all right.
I have four Birthdays. Sid and Grandson Evan the last two. So I have been busy on phone and heaven knows what. Melissa was Yesterday.

ReplyDeleteJudy
Oh, it sounds like a wonderful party to celebrate Bright Eye's first year! wow, the party decorations are great, and I love that pink candy bar. What a sweet birthday cake, she looks darling in these pictures. Is the American Girl Bitty Baby part of the American Girl collection? She will have that doll from grandma for a very long time (maybe forever), what a special gift. Such cute pictures of Lulu - she's getting older every time I see her. And I hope SweetCheeks is feeling better - maybe too much candy? What a delightful post this is, and you know how much I LOVE PINK!
ReplyDeletelove, ~Sheri
What a lovely party, Diana! OMW, where do I begin? I love the pink candy bar and Bright Eyes cake is gorgeous! She is a true princess- tutu and all! It looks like a wonderful party and a great time for all. There is nothing quite like the first birthday party and cake! Amazing how quickly grands can recover when Cinderella is in town! You have a lovely family!

What a darling beautiful baby that is... and all that pink delicious yumminess and cupcake cake!! What a special occasion that was. Oh and you and Sweet Cheeks spending the night together… I can tell there’s some kindred spirit there among you two. Aren’t grandchildren something extra special! Enjoy each moment with them dear Diana!
ReplyDeleteCielo
Oh my goodness! Too much sweetness in this post! I can't believe Bright Eyes is already a year old, and isn't she just a little doll! I just love the tutu high chair and that little cake, but the best part is that she didn't use her hands to eat it! Oh, that is too funny! I'm sorry about Sweet Cheeks having a bad tummy and that is no fun for Nana, either....Glad she recovered quickly, though. You'll have to let us know what you thought of the movie. I don't have little girls to go see it with, but I might make my Mr. take me to it for punishment. :) Happy Birthday to Bright Eyes! xo K
ReplyDeleteSo much gorgeous sweetening . The post is just too sweet for words , thanks for sharing ...:)
ReplyDeleteYou all always have first class parties - and this was no exception. She is just gorgeous and so sweet looking. And that cupcake wasn't so bad looking either.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday to Bright Eyes! What a great sweet fun party! She's adorable and I love how she was hands off with the cake. Only 1 little 4 yr old boy here who still has his "longish" curly hair, and no more kiddos ever, so it was fun to see all the "pink" here! And Lulu is cute and funny too. Bet Cinderella was great!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful baby! Such a blessing! Pure Sweetcheeks!
ReplyDeleteKid's parties always good.
ReplyDeleteMerle..........
What a beautiful pink party! Love those curls! Sorry about the unfortunate incident at midnight. ;p

That is so funny that she never touched the cake with her hands! I love the decorated high chair and the candy bar is precious! I'm totally craving pink cake now too. I bet y'all had a fantastic time. Love the selfies too! They're actually pretty artistic! So glad Sweet Cheeks perked up in time for the movie. ;)
ReplyDeleteLooks like a beautiful party! I love all the pink..ahhh...and with all that candy and cake I would just have to hope I could come home alive. I'm not really very good at resisting temptation when temptation is cake and candy! The birthday girl is adorable, and so are Lulu and Sweet Cheeks!
ReplyDeleteI just knew there would be a ton of pink goodness at her party! I love her adorable cake. That candy bar is stocked well too! I thought the tutu around the highchair was adorable! I've never seen that done before. So glad that she had a great party and loved her new doll.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great party and beautiful baby. One is my favorite age, sweet sweet!

ReplyDeleteWow! You have shared a feast of all things pink and sweet! My goodness, my cheeks hurt from smiling as I read through your post, and then I felt so sad for Sweet Cheeks - too much sweet is no fun, especially at midnight! The party and decor were perfectly awesome, but Miss Bright Eyes was the show all by herself - love love loved it all! Hugs to you today!
ReplyDeleteCute post Diana. She is just a sweetie. Love the Cake. Happy number one! I hope the pink puker is feeling better. Maybe she's not the center of attention anymore.
ReplyDeleteAdorable photos, Diana. All that pink makes a darling 1st birthday party. Passing along the tutu idea. Really cute.
ReplyDeleteOur little Miss Em had chocolate cake and white icing all over her pretty little face. I think the pink birthday dress survived.
So much fun to have these little ones in our lives.
Bright Eyes sure is adorable and what a wonderful birthday party!! Sorry about Pink Puker! We are planning a girls night out and go see the movie Cinderella too! Nancy

ReplyDeleteWhat an adorable baby ~ and party too! Your daughter didn't miss a detail. We have the same Bitty Baby tradition with our girls, only I do it on their 3rd birthday and dress the doll and the girl in the Bitty birthday outfit. So fun to watch their face when they notice that the baby is dressed like them. It's all about making a memory isn't it? You are blessed indeed with so many cuties. Sorry sweet cheeks was sick, that's no fun for anyone.
