Okay- I mighta lied a little---
OR---let's put it this way---
OR---let's put it this way---
God gave us BLUE paint so that
we could make
OUR OWN BLUE PUMPKINS.
we could make
OUR OWN BLUE PUMPKINS.
So-Here it is!
Here is my very own
BLUE PUMPKIN
that I painted with Annie Sloan
chalk paint.
I know-I know-
some of you will say---
That woman is crazy-
You may, or may not, be right about that!
You may, or may not, be right about that!
While he might not have made a BLUE one
I am pretty sure He never made a
I am pretty sure He never made a
BLACK ONE EITHER..
but someone in the
Retail World did!
Pretty ugly, huh?
I am working outside doing clean up today
so I may be a tad scarce.
Make sure you come back tomorrow
for a POEtic POEst.
Some of you smart ones probably
picked up on that
so I may be a tad scarce.
Make sure you come back tomorrow
for a POEtic POEst.
So while I am out working
I want to leave
you with this
REAL INTERVIEW
that was in the newspaper.
Well, there you have it!
You don't have to get
"all dressed up" if you are just
going to the
Dollar Store!
However, make sure you
ARE DRESSED UP
if you are going to
WALMART!
Of course, underwear is always optional.
Here is an example of someone
DRESSED UP for Walmart.
ps. You still have time to sign up for my giveaway here.
You're gonna love it!
Drawing is Nov.1st.
That last sentence, before the P.S., is sounding like you are stealing "Aunt Jet's" line........... -chuckle- Heh, heh, heh... :-)))))

Good morning Diana, I had to chuckle at the interview. Some of the sites that you see when you go to Walmart are unreal. I have enjoyed catching up with you this morning. Sweet cheeks will love you for your picture of her in the 3D glasses, but we love our grandchildren. Have a wonderful day. Hugs and Prayers from your Missouri Friend.
ReplyDeleteI like that blue pumpkin. It is real nice. Catherine
ReplyDeletewell, a blue pumpkin, I never, lol, I wonder if that lady read her interview, lol,
ReplyDeleteI suppose then we all should dress up to go to Walmart, never know who we may see!
ReplyDeleteOh, wow...love that interview! And I truly love your blue pumpkin! :)
ReplyDeleteSusan
I am cracking up over that newspaper blurb. =) And that blue pumpkin is just too pretty for words!
ReplyDeleteJeanine
Oh my! I read this one to hubby....we both had a good laugh! Dress up to shop? We could do better....and so could a lot of other people we see! lol
ReplyDeleteDiana, You mean I have been wasting my time dress up to go to our $ store? LOL. I know this will sound sad...but when I was young and never ever went anywhere, I did dress nice to go grocery shopping and the drs. office. Of course I had to choose between my two or three dresses. LOL. I'll be back later to see what you are up to. I like that blue pumpkin. I am thinking of getting some fake ones to paint for next year. xoxo,Susie
ReplyDeleteWhere on earth did you find that last photo.....that guy is hilarious (is that how you spell that?) Don't work too hard in the yard...hugs, Penny
ReplyDeleteOMG! That is TOO funny! I can tell you (from personal experience) that people do not get dressed up to shop at Walmart. I buy most of my groceries there and I don't get dressed up to shop there either. I have seen a few of those "crazy" examples in person myself and it is during those times that I think there has to be a candid camera around somewhere. Guess I better REALLY stay out of the dollar stores then!
ReplyDeleteTooooooo funny!!!!! I guess I better make sure I have my lipstick on when I go to Walmart from now on!!!! Love your blue pumpkin. So fun.
ReplyDeleteKris
At work when we need a good laugh late in the evening we will go look up "people of walmart" and we just laugh and giggle!
ReplyDeleteWell here in CA they go to the store in the jammie bottoms, you know the flannel one and slipper shoes with the girls hanging out. Go figure, i don't even dress that way to do my gardening. LOL Love your blue pumpkin.
ReplyDeleteMary
I thank God I have never seen anyone dressed like that at The Dollar Store or Walmart! Still, we do joke about wearing our "Walmart clothes" or whatever. Guess I could take my own Walmart pictures, but I don't know if it's legal or not.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Deb
Very funny... oh yes formal wear for Walmart! My Grands showed me "People of Walmart" I laughed so hard I choked!!! Your blue pumpkins is cool.
ReplyDeletexo
I'm hysterical right now!! Love your blue pumpkin!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the laugh and the "warning".....we are headed to Walmart this afternoon. lol
ReplyDeleteLove your creative blue pumpkin.
That article literally put a huge smile on my face! Too funny!!! And I can not wait to see what you have up your sleeve! Happy Thursday! Nicole xo
ReplyDeleteLOL! That interview is too funny, Diana. Love your blue pumpkin. I thought I saw a blue pumpkin (not the prettiest shape), or maybe it was considered a gourd? Who knows, but it was a blue grey color.
ReplyDeleteHi Diana! I ave been reading, but my stupid iPad is allergic to blogs these days. The blue pumpkin is great!
ReplyDeleteoh I am laughing so hard. I just went and got my hair cut and I dress up to the hairdresser and threw on my wee scarf that my son air brushed. Then Hubby said. You cannot even see the design. I laughed and I said. oh well. I love the green in it. So ya. I am a nutter .. Oh this is funny of Walmart. Ha-ha a hoot.
ReplyDeleteOh blue pumpkin is unique and your unique. Once you see a yellow, orange pumpkin you see them all. Known can be different but you can. Do you know that this year is the weird Zombie life people dress up . Oh my. I would have a nightmare if one came to my door. I have never liked anything scary. Mine you. I get not any in the country. . Bad enough of seeing them here on Haliburton Street they say is a Parade. The first for us and in Toronto parading..
You can have any color pumpkin you want and I personally love blue!
ReplyDeleteLOL!!! about dressing up to shop!
warmly,
deb
I was laughing before I even saw the pic! Dress up for Walmart??? Hilarious!
ReplyDeleteNice blue pumpkin. Will the pie be blue, too?
LOL ~~ My son and I dislike going to WM because it is dirty and 'crazy' people. We had to go get something there the other day so we set in our minds to try and find people who were dressed 'crazy'. We laughed and enjoyed our time there like never before! It's really IS a great place to 'people watch' - but next time I go, I'll make sure to get Dressed UP!! Now about that blue pumpkin.............
ReplyDeleteI like your blue pumpkin, Diana and I will forgive your little fib, as we call it here:) Love the interview - are you sure that wasn't here? I live in Hicksville - hey nothing wrong with it, we can have some fun, though.... Walmart is kinda scary - there should be a horror movie filmed there....it would be very low budget because all the props and extras would already be in place. :) Hugs xo Karen
ReplyDeleteLove your pumpkin. I bought a bluish-grey pumpkin in Ohio last week and it doesn't look real!!
ReplyDeleteYou certainly can see "a lot" at some Walmarts!!
LOL! Yup, I see lots of lookers in Wal-Mart. Love your pumpkin, but guess what? There is actually a pumpkin that they grow now that has a slight shade of blue to it. Lots of injections I'm sure. Hee-hee! We worked in the yard all day Sat. cleaning up and putting everything away. Gave this ole gal a back ache. Have fun!
ReplyDeletehugs,
Jann
I'm crazy about a painted pumpkin. Actually I'm crazy about a painted anything. That fellow is a little to painted for my liking:) LOL!
ReplyDeleteLove the painted pumpkin. Okay, that article has me cracking up. Guess I better wear my heels and pearls the next time I show up at Wally World!
ReplyDeleteYes, clearly the great advantage of the dollar store is not having to put on those fancy duds you wear to walmart. Geez do you think she was kidding? I hope .... Anyway -- LOVe the blue pumpkin. Both my pumpkins are pretty much naturally black now -- they have been self destructing for the last few weeks.
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting. You may have to wait a while before you find me modeling my cheapo necklaces on the blog -- I am too kind to force people to look. :-) ... Cass
Too, too funny!! And yes, painted pumpkins are wonderful!
ReplyDeleteMary Alice
Love your blue pumpkin..Don't forget to get dressed up the next time you go to Wallmart..Can't believe she said that..I guess it only got published becuz it was so stupid..
ReplyDeleteYour blue pumpkin is awesome! You are so right, God may not have created blue ones, but he did give us paint, and glitter, too!
ReplyDeleteLooks like that Walmart shopper is dressed to match your pumpkin!!
I have seen some other Walmart Shoppers! lol And you know I saw in a magazine just this am - you get a smaller pumpkin - paint it black - put it upside down on the other black one. Make a collar. Then a cat face and ears - you have a really cute pumpkin cat.
ReplyDeletethat Walmart picture is really great. Love how the guy in front of him won't dare look at him. so funny.
ReplyDeleteMade my day lol Happy Autumn with love
ReplyDeleteI am visiting from Junk Chic Cottage. I have seen you around in comments but this is my first visit to your blog. It is a HOOT! Thanks for the smiles.
ReplyDeleteWell, even if God didn't make the blue or black pumpkins, He gave us the knowledge and ability to do it! :) I love both. I was going to pick up a black one this year and decorate it with some glitter & bling but too much has been going on and I just forgot.
ReplyDeleteHope you didn't work too hard outside ~ don't want you to be too tired for your poetry. :)
xoxo
Pat
I bought a little pumpkin....but it is headed for a pumpkin pie or two. Have you ever heard of putting the pumpkin in the microwave??? I have tried the oven before, but never the mic. Well, I am up for the challenge, I will let you know how it works. Yeah, we see quite the array of people at Walmart, dressed all sorts of ways. It's good to know that they HAVE to dress up to go there...no nudies please!!!
ReplyDeleteLouise
Oh my...how do I sign up for the drawing?? I love the black one. Paint the stem with a bit of gold or silver paint..then add polka dots all over it with the end of a larger brush.. Is it real or faux? Never mind..I have a feeling you know exactly what you want to do with that pumpkin!! :)
ReplyDeleteWHAT??? You don't dress up when you go to Walmart? For shame!!
ReplyDeleteYou can paint anything with chalk paint and it looks great! As for dressing up, well lets just say I'm ready for Walmart most anytime day or night.
ReplyDeleteDiana, we are getting a Super Dollar store openeing soon. I've been watching the paper to see what the dress code is so I know how to arrive! It is a super store after all. I'm sure I have offended many while shopping at KMart with my attire I'm hoping that black pumpkin was the one that turned blue, cause it's really pretty...Happy Halloween..Judy
ReplyDeleteI never saw a purple cow, I never hope to see one, but I can tell you anyhow I'd rather see than be one. I know it's early n the morning and there is no telling what will pop out of my brain when I am all fresh and sparkly. xo Laura
ReplyDeleteP.S. I'll be back later. Heading over to Walmart in my jammies. :)
Nice job on the blue pumpkin! The getting dressed up for Walmart idea is new to me--doesn't seem that rule is followed very well!
ReplyDeleteSuch a funny comment about "dressing up" to go to Walmart! I don't think I've ever seen someone dressed up there...now dressed DOWN is a different story. :) I've totally seen that happening! Lol!
ReplyDeleteHilarious!!! Walmart is the one place I don't wear makeup.... or my good church clothes... or my good shoes ... especially if I've had coffee and I might have to pee... I HATE walking on Walmart bathroom floors. So gross! If Walmart weren't so cheap, I'd might never go in one again... notice I said might not... LOVE/HATE... that's our relationship. OH... and I like your blue pumpkin!
