Well, What's your best bet?
What do YOU think happened when
The SweetCheeks met Baby BrightEyes
for the very first time?
Little Cousins touching hands for the first time.
Looking good-
A smile and a sigh.
And the
Seal of Approval.
Nana: What do you think, SweetCheeks?
SCheeks: She's cute, Nana!
Is she gonna be on your blog all the time now?
Nana: (laughing). Well, she's been on at least twice already. How many more times do you think she should be on it?
SCheeks: ONCE or LESS!
She was being absolutely serious, I fear!
And there you have it, folks.
The "old star" taking the protege under her wing...
as long as she doesn't have to share
too much of the spotlight.
But, guess what?
She will ALWAYS be a shining star to me!
And she KNOWS that!
But, guess what?
She will ALWAYS be a shining star to me!
And she KNOWS that!
Precious pictures! You must have a smile that never leaves your face to have such precious ones in your life!
ReplyDeleteSuch sweet pictures of the girls together. I'm sure sharing the spotlight is going to be a big focus with everyone right now. Best wishes with all the transitions happening at your daughter's home. Hugs!
ReplyDeleteSo precious. The pictures and the sweet cheek's comments.
ReplyDeleteAll too soon, Sweet Cheeks will grow up and not care if she is or isn't the star in the spotlight, but there is a stand-in in line! You are so blessed to have grandchildren!
ReplyDeleteSo sweet how SC holds the baby and kisses her. I think as long as she has the majority of the spotlight all will be well. LOL. You have such adorable grandchildren.
ReplyDeleteWhat a priceless picture. Well SC has been the star for a long time so it's only natural that she would be concerned that some of her thunder will be gone. Kids are so precious and honest. But I bet they will be the best of friends. That baby is sure the cutest.
ReplyDeleteMary
Diana, I love that picture of SC just looking at BE. The kiss on the head touches my heart. I have a picture of my oldest granddaughter, Sierra, Holding her cousin, Lynzie....it looks almost like this one. Bless all the sweet granddaughters and grandsons. xoxo,Susie

ReplyDeleteABSOLUTELY DARLING!!! ♥♥
ReplyDeleteSweet Cheeks and Bright Eyes, so sweet. The photos are precious!
ReplyDeleteSweet pics... Memories....
ReplyDeleteOh yes, her nose will be a wee "bit out of joint" for awhile. It's only natural.
But just wait till Bright Eyes begins to really notice Sweet Cheeks! When Bright Eyes begins to gaze at Sweet Cheeks, with adoration! The way a tiny little girl, looks at the little bit older little girl cousin, in the family. Total adoration. Total "I want to be with you and follow you and do everything you do-ness."
Total adoration is a hard thing, to not like. :-)))))
Remember, 'Busy Nana', no email reply to this comment! Please. No. Go back to doing all the tons of things you have to do, around you, while you are there. Really!
Tessa~
Looks as if everything will work out between them. You weren't holding Bright Eyes when they first were introduced were you? =D
ReplyDeleteIf those two decide to team up, you could be in big trouble!
ReplyDeleteI'm sure that Sweet Cheeks will share with Bright Eyes equal time on your blog.
ReplyDeleteSC always brings a smile to my face with her comments. They will be best friends!
ReplyDeleteOut of the mouths of babes! Love your stories....
ReplyDeletesweet sweet.melts my heart!
ReplyDeleteLOL- well, at least she didn't tell you to put her back!
ReplyDeleteThis is going to be awesome to watch...and follow. Have a happy day!
Sweet Cheeks is not as tough as she sounds, now is she? Looks at her kissing that sweet baby!
ReplyDeleteO, I think BBE will be the star to SC before you know it. She'll take that baby under her little wing and be the protector. They are both so precious.
ReplyDeleterut roe... looks like its time to inform Sweet Cheeks about the real fact of life.. which of course, as my uncle gray always said-- " the sun dont shine on the same dogs rear end every day~!" oh how true it is..
ReplyDeleteLove the photos and stories of your babies. Nothing captures my heart like a child or a baby. I pray for my little Connor who's two that he will adjust easily to his baby sister. He's just a baby himself. They got back family/prego photos and they are adorable. I can't download to share. So had. I want the world to see. I love my babies. We all do, don't we!
ReplyDeleteIt's a beautiful thing :-)
ReplyDeleteOh Diana she is beautiful....you are sooooooooo blessed!!! Congrats!!! Hope mommy and baby are doing well and you as well :)
ReplyDeleteHaven't been around much but I will try to visit more often
Suzann ~xoxo~
P.S. I will be in Traverse next week for a bit...not sure how long but I haven't been to Traverse since 2007 so I am excited to see my family!!!
This made me smile so much! Karli was the princess for a looong time and after we found out we were having A baby and we told her, she just lost it. After a while she made amends but then we found out there were 2 in there.... Oh BOY! Her life was ruined. Almost 6 years later, guess how they are? Best buddies. All three. Well, most of the time. :) Beautiful babies, Diana. Congratulations!!
ReplyDeleteTalk about melting my heart.. what sweet and precious pictures and children. Such a heavenly gift! I'm so glad I'm getting to meet your family.
ReplyDeleteThis is so sweet! Congratulations on your sweet little Bright Eyes! Tell Sweet Cheeks that a grandma's heart doesn't have to share love, it just grows and makes room for more!
ReplyDeleteOh my heart!!! This is just superb!!!!!! Thank you for sharing Diana! I am a bit teary eyed seeing the LOVE on SC face as she kisses BE..
ReplyDeleteAh, but then human nature comes out! Yikes!!! TeeHeHee!!!! Nana's work is never done!!!
These pictures are just priceless! I believe that these 2 will find common ground together.
What a blessing this is!!! <3
Such a sweet pic of two precious cousins! Thanks for sharing this! The great thing about grandmas is that they always have plenty of love to go around. :)
ReplyDeleteTell Sweet Cheeks that when you SHARE the spotlight you only SHINE brighter. I love that last photo.
ReplyDeletexo Danielle
What a great photo! Once a star, always a star in a Nana's eyes! I have a feisty one here, too. Loves to share the spotlight, but only on her terms!! ;)
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet picture of the two of them together! Something tells me that Miss Sweetcheeks will always make sure she has her share of the spot light!
ReplyDeleteLOL! What an adorable photo!
ReplyDeleteToo cute! Precious photos! She will love her to pieces soon!
ReplyDeleteOf course! Sweet cheeks is sweet and in no time flat will be wanting to feature tiny cousin right along with herself in Grandma's blog. Okay..maybe not. LOL Such beautiful little grands!!
ReplyDeletePRECIOUS pictures of this beautiful event! What a family treasure.
ReplyDeleteAnd SweetCheeks? Oh my goodness, that little girl does not let anything get by her! - what a smartie to mentally calculate the "suggested time allotted" to the little newcomer and be so vocal about it! This exchange will certainly go down in your family history!
LOL Diana... there's room for all, isn't there?
ReplyDeleteV
Couldn't be any sweeter...
ReplyDeleteThey are both so beautiful, Diana. Cousin love :)
ReplyDeletexo Laura
What a precious story! They are adorable! I just love Sweet Cheeks and her sense of humor- that spotlight can get mighty small when one has to share! Truly, lovely photos!

ReplyDeleteGot to *love* that Sweet Cheeks. She puts the AH in AH-dorable!
ReplyDeleteShe doesn't want you to forget her - but you never would!

ReplyDeleteSweet Cheeks is a gem! I love the things she says. Lovely pictures of the cousins together.
ReplyDeleteHow sweet. S.C. knows that she is special and doesn't want to share that. That's pretty normal I would say. She has a special bond with you. What a cute picture of her kissing the baby. Thanks for your comment today. It has been a rough day for sure. We spent time with Chris tonight and he is doing a little better. He's bi-polar so it's always a worry. It's just so sad and it shouldn't have happened this way. Thanks
ReplyDeletePrecious Darlings :) Blessings, Cindy
ReplyDeleteA beautiful moment captured....Love the love.
ReplyDeleteAnd....I detect a small "fear" that someone is going to be left off Nana's blog. I know that won't happen....and I look forward to seeing the photos of your beautiful Grands!!!
So precious.
ReplyDeleteAdorable. What a beautiful baby!
'once or less,' she is so precious! And there is nothing more beautiful than newborn hands and feet, non, nom, nom. take care gram.
ReplyDeleteI was wondering how this meeting would go. Of course, she's a sweet girl and bound to love a cute baby. But, sharing the limelight might be a tad tough for her. "Once or less" breaks me up.
ReplyDeleteWhat a precious time, that is just an adorable photograph! She's already in love, I can tell! Oh Sweet Cheeks, her comment was just too cute!
ReplyDeletesweet! what a precious little princess! love the pictures.
