The Horrors Of Halloween - Going Going GONE

I couldn't resist

posting this again

for Halloween.

This is SweetCheeks

at two years old.

She is 6 now.

Here she is holding

THE PUMPKIN

she picked out.

Ummm...

Here she is about

15 seconds later.

Ummmmm.....

Poor SweetCheeks.

I love that we have a

moment like this forever

frozen in time.

Someday she will show this

to her own granddaughter

and smile a sweet/sad

little smile-remembering

the little girl she used to be.

I hope you have a

Happy Safe Halloween.

I LOVE BLOGGERS!!!

You know one of the best things about blogging?
The people you meet!
LOOK AT THIS!

Do you remember a few weeks ago when
I put THIS CHALKBOARD up in
my kitchen?
At that time I said
I was not very good at
CHALK TALK!
So-
Guess what?
A very sweet blogger, Ms. M,
over at
did this for me!
Can you believe it?

She is something, isn't she?
If you don't know this gal she is one of the
funniest bloggers I know.
And she eats Twinkies and Doritos with cheese....shhhhh

She is uber talented and does more than just
chalkboards-she does lots of "littles"
like this.
Is that cute, or what?
Hope that is okay to use that, m.
I have a lawyer on retention, just in case
you're pitching a hissy fit.

Anyway, A big thanks, m!
I LOVE that Chalkboard done right!

You can click on the chalkboard to go to her blog.
You are WAAAAAY too good to me!

There's A Ghost In My House- Or Two- Or Three

Years and years ago I cut
this out of some magazine.
I thought it would be fun to do this
for one of the old houses we lived in.
Isn't he sweetly spooky?
And, he has a friend!
I don't know the source of these because
I have had the clipping for so many years.

Anyway.
SweetCheeks and Ria and I
decided that it might be fun
to make our own little ghosts.
I used plain old tissue paper like you use for gifts.

Don't laugh- After SweetCheeks
cut out the first one I ironed the
tissue paper with a dry iron to flatten it out.

We commenced to cutting-
Yes! We do wear our princess dresses for crafts.
And cutting.....
Some of us wear our bride dresses......
And...when we are done we have some
SPOOKTACULAR  GHOSTS.
Do you love it?
I used magic marker on a couple of them
for the eyes and mouth.
Pretty skeeery-----
I wish I could show you how eerie they look from outside
but it was hard to get a picture.
This is the best I could do.
They look better from outside!

This was taken in the backyard with the
tree reflected in the window.

Now...you know what else is skeery inside?
It's the
CAPED CRUSADER!
Caught after he flew in to
steal some donut holes!
Oh- I am SOOO going to get it now!
If you don't hear from me in 24 hours
please call and tell someone that
I went missing!

I will be doing a disappearing act
for most of the day but I will
BE BACK LATE
to catch up with all of you~

Three Ingredient Artichoke Dip

I am lucky to have grandkids
that will eat almost anything.

So.....
What sounds like a fun treat?
Artichoke Dip!
Seriously!
Artichoke Dip!
All you need is:
1 can of water packed artichokes.
1 cup of grated parmesan cheese
1/2 cup of mayo.
 Chop the artichokes.
Stir in the parmesan and mayo.
Heat for 5 minutes in the microwave on high.
or put into a mini crock pot
and heat through.

I served this with crackers this time
but I usually serve it with french bread pieces.
So, how did the kids fare that will
"eat almost anything"?
You will notice we are eating in our
Princess clothes.
Thing One
says:
ART - AH - CHOKE
It makes you want to CHOKE when
you eat it!
Thing Two
The "bride" didn't like it much either.
Yeah...
Welcome to the real world, Nana.
What's this?
Even Rosetta looks a little stunned!

Never fear-
Nothing wasted here.
MyHero polished it off.

LOOK AT THIS HOUSE My Daughter Found!

I was gone all day yesterday.
I drove South about 100 miles to look at
THIS HOUSE
with my daughter.
I won't post the address yet
or tell you just where it is
but it is in their scope.
It needs work.
Quite a lot of work...
WHERE do you find walls that are this thick?
You find it in a house that was built in the 1860's!
This is a kitchen window with original sill.
There are lots of original features
but the bathrooms have been updated beautifully.
There's a nice big living room
To the left you can see the front door with transom.
Front side porch off the kitchen
Back side porch & pergola off the kitchen
Kitchen is a gut job-plain & simple.
Except the original brick floor and wall would stay.
That's a small pantry on the far right.
So....This MIGHT be the home for two little boys
and a brand new baby girl to grow up in.
It MIGHT be their forever home.
Can't you see those little guys scrambling around
the barn that sits behind the house?
IF they get the house I found a
WONDERFUL HOUSEWARMING GIFT
for them.
A MOOOOVE IN Present.
A MOOOOOVING statue for their front yard.
Shhhhhhhh.....I want it to be a total surprise!

I have some sweet little girls here
for the weekend so I will visit
as I can today!

It's A Baby- But Is It A Boy Or A Girl?

None of my kids ever
knew before the birth what
they were going to have-
be it boy or girl it was a surprise.
However,
this time my wonderful Mimi wanted to know.
who would join the ranks of this
sweet family.
Are these precious thumbsuckers going to have
brother or a sister?
The found out yesterday!
Are you ready?
Is it a boy?
Is it a girl?

Baby is due on March 17th-
St. Patricks Day!
So...St. Patrick is a boy, right?
Well,
St. Patrick might be a boy
but WE are having
A GIRL!!!

~Whooo Hoooo~
Now we pray for a healthy little baby girl,
and a smooth pregnancy and birth
Thank You, Lord!
We just can't wait.....
but we will.....

And meanwhile we will be dreaming
about this!

That will make
FIVE Grandgirls and SIX Grandboys
and ONE little Angel in Heaven
watching over them all.

Well, Looky Who Is HOUSE PROUD!

Nope!  NOT ME!

A few weeks ago I signed up for
A GIVEAWAY.

I seldom sign up for them but this
one involved a book...and you
KNOW how much I LOVE books.

Whooo Hooooo!
I won!
I won a book about Louisiana homes.
When I opened the book I saw that not only
had Valorie Hart signed it but so had
Ron & Jeff
-although I think Ron might have forged Jeff's name-
just a thought

So-Whose house is it you want to know?
Well, it is my friend, Ron,
over at
(Now I wonder when he chose that name if
he realized that an ACORN is actually
a NUT of some kind)

I think he is just a TAD SCARED about
what I might say.
Don't you worry your sweet little head
I will cross out all the bad parts, Ron,
I promise!

He, and his partner, Jeff,
have this wonderful, warm home
in New Orleans, y'all!
Come inside for a peek!
Do you love it?
Wait till you see the kitchen!
I think there have been
MANY MANY COCKTAILS
served at that bar.
Just a wild hunch on my part.
Those lemons are just for garnishing
some kind of drink...I know it!
Let's just say, if Ron isn't shopping,
or vacationing or teaching,
he's having a cocktail!.

Do you love it?
How about this?
If you love oyster shells and
New Orleans and just plain old
good taste in everything,
you will love Ron.

Here's what their house looks like
all decked out for Fall.
facade 6
Now, I didn't show you
ALL the pictures because
I want you to visit
his blog to see them for yourself.
So......
If you get a chance pop over to
and say
BOO
He'll know what that means!

Hi........
Do you know bj over at Sweet Nothings?
Did you notice she was GONE?

She is a TREASURE!
And now she has a NEW BLOG
Here's what happened to her blog:

I lost all my sweet and loyal followers....over 1700.....I lost my original DASHBOARD and over 400 blogs that I followed. I lost my DESIGN page and LAYOUT so I lost over 200 drafts for future posts.
However, what I DIDN'T lose is my love for all of you and for blogging, itself.

So, please, please
help this dear Texas
olden crazy head  lady
get her blog back up and running.

you are in for a treat!
Pinky Promise!

ps.  While I am asking for "help"
can anyone tell me why my blog
IS NOT showing up as a new post?
I have cleared all my caches and cookies
and it only shows up as a new post
once in a while.
If anyone has ANY ideas as to
how to fix that I would be
really grateful.
Thanks!

PHANTOMS IN THE PLAYHOUSE?

I am trying to catch up
since our seminar weekend.
I off-loaded the pictures from
my camera today
AND
it appears that there might be a
Phantom hanging out around
The Playhouse.

Do you see it here?
Is it in the window?
Nope!
Why are they laughing?
Do THEY see the PHANTOM?

Is this the phantom?
Nope!
That is just Papa/MyHero.
He is in his 2nd childhood and
has taken up volleyball.
Is the phantom IN the volleyball?
Nope!

Now! Do you see it now?
Look at that black arrow-
Upper left hand side of the picture.
THAT is what makes this a PHANTOM!
When we hung the skeleton up all his limbs
were hanging down straight.

We didn't notice that
THE PHANTOM
was waving at the camera
until after we took the pictures.
Now you know why I decorate for FALL
instead of Halloween.
Weird things happen around here.
That waving skeleton is
kinda creepy, huh?

Not NEARLY as creepy as THIS though!
Click on image for a tutorial.

I'll be creeping around to visit you myself later
to say BOO!
