More Answers to ASK ME ANYTHING

Okay then!
Had enough yet?
Shall I continue?
You know I have to show you at least
ONE PICTURE from this trip.
Look at this lush little flower. Cute, huh?
Anyway, moving right along.
You sure asked a lot of questions.
Here are some EASY answers to some FUN questions.
Question:
What fragrance do you wear?
Answer:
I know you are gonna laugh about this, Liz!
I wear HAPPY by Clinque in the summer-seriously-lol
Or-BEACH by Bobbi Brown.
In Fall I switch to
Tuscany per Dona by Estee Lauder

Question:
What's your favorite food?
What do you like to cook?
Eating Sugar?
Answer:
I love French food  but don't eat it often.
Don't snicker but the BEST French food I ever had
was at The Bistro in Epcot (Disney).
I like to cook but I like cooking for a crowd
better than just cooking for the two of us.
My FAVORITE though is baking.
I LOVE to bake-pies, cookies, cupcakes,tarts...
you name it- I will bake it.
When we built this kitchen we put in a huge
Bosch double oven and I love it.
Bosch 800 Series - Electric Oven (Double Oven) - Built-in - 30" - ...
Which brings me to sugar-my weakness.
I went for 7 out of the last 10 years
without eating sugar.
5 years in the first stretch and
then off an on for the last  five years-
As of this week I am off again
and hoping to stay off this time.
Sugar to me is like cocaine to an addict.
One piece of candy is too much
and the whole box
is not enough.
I could LIVE on sugar.
My blood sugars are good but
I know it is not good for me.
So, here in front of God and Bloggers
I am telling you
that I am going to do my best to
NOT EAT SUGAR.
I feel 100% better when I don't eat it.

Question:
What would be the most surprising thing about you
that we don't know?
Answer:
Hmmmm....A few things probably...lol
#1
I won the state (PA)
FHA (Future Homemakers Award)
as a senior in high school and they called a
special assembly to present it.
Ummm...My HomeEc teacher hated me
and had to sit on the stage when it was presented.
I wore the pin to school every day.-lol
#2
I married MyHero after only dating him for
THIRTY DAYS.
I would not recommend this for any sane person.
#3
I drive everywhere.
MyHero never drives when we go anywhere.
He reads or works on his computer.
I am not a good rider and
he is not a good driver-lol-and admits it.

Question:
Where haven't you visited
that you would like to go?
What is your heritage?
Answer:
I would love to visit Ireland.
My father's mother came to the US from Ireland.
Her name was Rose Owen.
So, I am English/Irish on my father's side.
I am Pennsylvania Dutch on my mother's side and French.

Okay- Think that's enough for today.
BUT
Remember that sweet little lush flower I showed
you at the beginning?
Well, here is where it grows.
Yes- It grows right below
THIS SIGN
No wonder it's so lush.

More answers coming tomorrow.
Y'all come on back now, ya hear?

  2. I'm smiling at all your fun trivia about yourself. I'm assuming you will reveal your trip destination in the future. I'm guessing you don't want all the paparazzi right now following you.

  3. How much fun to get to know you better! My sweet hubby and I got engaged 3 weeks after our first date, got married 9 months later, and have been happily married now for almost 18 years. When you know - you know :) And, the plant is hilarious! Life to the full! Melissa

  5. Ok, those are the easy ones. Let's see how you do on the sistah's questions...bwahahahahaha!
Have a good day and stay out of trouble.

  7. What a fun way to get to know you Diana. I love your answers and I too have been wearing Happy for years...love the fragrance. In the fall and winter months I will also wear Happy for men...more of an earthy scent. Was wondering where you grew up in Pa. I am also a home grown Pennsy gal...grew up outside of Philly and lived in Bucks county before coming to New Jersey.

So funny you showed up your Home Ec teacher...good for you for wearing your pin to school everyday!

    Wishing you a wonderful week!
    XO Barbara

  8. Diana, I love knowing more about you. But just knowing you are nice is enough really. That toilet sign, makes me think of my daughter Karen...she had to go to every bathroom, if we stopped anywhere at any time. I always asked her if she was secretly a plumbing inspecter.:) Hope you are having a wonderful Sunday. xoxo,Susie

  9. gosh I love hearing about you, and your answers do not surprise me, YET!

  10. Love that you wore that pin everyday! hahaha! So you!
You must have serious will power to avoid sugar with all the baking and the littles around. I am weak...I admit it.

  11. Good for you! A special assembly!! Wow!

No sugar. But it must be difficult baking so much when all the things you bake have sugar in them!!

When we were talking about how great my Grandpa's home grown tomatoes were, he told us he had planted them in the ground where the outhouse used to be. I sure hope he was kidding us.

  12. I love this! Glad you wore than pin every day, too.

I dated John only 6 mos. but you beat me on that one, too. Of course, we were 35 and 39, too.

  13. I am still laughing over the origin of the beautiful flower.

  14. Yeah, Diana's off sugar, so is Claudia of Mockingbird Hill Cottage! Now I really won't feel so lonely. It will be 6 weeks tomorrow since I've eaten any desserts, except for one sleepless night when I got up and ate 3 pieces of my husband's chocolate cherry candy. My blood sugar numbers are much better and I do feel better, except those times like last night when I walked into our laundry room (where our snack area is) and saw his pack of Fig Newtons lying there. I didn't even pick them up but I went straight to the raisin box and ate 5 of them. That did the trick.

How will you handle the holiday baking thing, Diana? I'm hoping that by then I'll be strong enough to bake some for family dinners and not eat a bite of it. Now homemade rolls might be more difficult to resist. Oh, I just remembered--the pecan pies I make for Thanksgiving, I don't dare bake them. I'd never be able to resist them.

How good to you plan on being in the holidays, Diana? That's my first question in this series.

  15. You are so funny Diana!! Love all of your answers except the one about not eating sugar. That's no fun.

  16. I guess that flower gets plenty of fertilizer, huh?
And I don't feel well when I don't eat sugar. I've tried cutting back - but I think sugar agrees with me. It's kind of weird how different things seem to work for different bodies. And - you doing without sugar makes me wonder how you can stand drinking coffee. I put lots and lots of sugar in mine. With no sugar, I'd have no coffee. LOL

  17. I have some irish in me too. I think that's where my freckles and curly hair come from. LOL! I enjoy baking more than cooking too. I also love sugar. It is my weakness. I've never tried going off of it before. I'm sure I would have withdrawals or something. You have more willpower than me! In fact, I'm baking a cake as I write this. LOL!

  36. Can I go to Ireland with you? I'm not a big sugar fan so I won't tempt you with sweets while we're gone. You don't drink so you won't coax me to drink wine. We could consider it a trip necessary for our health. lol

    ReplyDelete
  37. D- I'm a total sugar addict. Bad. Kudos to you for being able to avoid it. I gave up chocolate for lent this year...ALL OF IT... and promptly gained about en pounds back as soon as lent was over, b/c I cleared the shelf of the leftover bunnies.

We're just getting our computer de-bugged from a virus. It's been really hard to even get on the internet some days. I thought it was the kids downloading games and crap, but then once we found the virus I knew it was Dan. He did it. DJ mix-it. Still have to download this new protection stuff.

Hope you are having a great get-a-way!

    Peace, A

  38. That just cracked me up (the toilet sign)! Love that you married hubby after 30 days - you must be a woman who really knows what she wants! I'm not a good rider, either, but hubby still does most of the driving. I'm just enjoying this entire Questions series! Keep it coming...and good luck with the "no sugar" thing.

So funny about the plant, It's getting some kind of fertilizer.

  46. You and I are definitely sugar twins. My sugar levels are great, but sugar makes me feel terrible. SIGH!!! I have been eating it again lately and paying the price, so I just vowed today (after a chocolate chip cookie) to stop again. xo Laura
