Rain Rain Go Away I Want These Boys To Go Out To Play

If you read my blog yesterday you know I have
TWO LITTLE GUYS
spending a couple of days with us while Mom works.
We woke up to this...
Can you see the line of rain coming across the bay?
It whips up the water as it hits the shore.
Yep- It is an INSIDE kind of day.
Breakfast has been served---Now---
What to do - What to do - What to do?
Puzzles, and lacing cards and movies, Oh My!

Some spelling cards:
What do you mean you can't spell C-A-T?
You're over a year old already.
Then it's time for snacks
And drinks all around.
Milk for the Kids:
And for me-
Oh- Wait- I don't drink!

Glance at the clock...
Huh?  It's only

8:30 AM???? WHAT????
Only 4-1/2 hours until nap time!
See you then-if I make it that long!

  2. LOL Isn't it amazing how time stands still when you're having fun? Sounds like a long and exciting day. I'll bet you'll need a nap, too. :)

  3. Diana, Grandkids take a lot of entertaining. That is fun, to have a nice rainy day inside with kids. I love the movie part. I remember watching some fun disney things with my g.kids. Enjoy yourself. xoxo,Susie

  4. They are so cute. Enjoy it. Soon they will be stinky teenagers who have to wake up at 5:30 a.m to catch the darn school bus. Just kidding. They are adorable and always will be.

  7. I would have taken a nap with them, Diana! : ) I love the lacing cards ~ I will have to look for them for my granddaughter.

  8. You might have to rethink that bottle...of course it's a long time until 5 o'clock! heehee You'll have fun...I know you will! Sweet hugs!

  9. You are such a good grandmother :-) No nips, now.

  10. Haha! Cute post. I suggest a nap when they have one, you may need it. :) Let's see, it's rainy and probably a bit dark out. Have you tried the blanket over a couple of chairs to make a tent? To hide from the rain? (This is pretend, you know...haha) A movie sounds good!
    Have fun!

  11. I'm sure those boys will find plenty to do. Do you have blocks? Or cars with tracks? Or lego? Or - you could get out several spoons and reflective objects and look into them to see which ones turn your reflections upside down. (concave & convex curve studies are fun for little one) Or, get out some blankets or sheets and make a hide out and have a picnic inside. Or make cookies. Even boys like cookies! My issue is having so much to do that we don't have time for a nap - and then I send Momma home with cranky toddlers. LOL

  12. I used to love those lacing cards and totally forgot about them until you mentioned them! There's always TV to watch. I hear little boys love to watch The View.

  13. Good Morning Diana, Aren't we going to have fun with such little cuties? We are going to be tired when we get through, but it will be an enjoyable day. Take a nap when they do or at least set down and rest, you will need it. Some things never change that we have for our little ones to play with, but it is harder when they get older. Cartoons can keep them entertained. Have a wonderful day. Hugs and Prayers from Your Missouri Friend.

  14. LOL!!

It is so dry here. We really need some of that rain and the temps have been in the mid 90s for 2 weeks now.

  15. oh happy day. Your a good Grandma.

Plus your blogs are a hoot to read in your self explanatory Grandma talk.

Oh wow your going to be putting your feet up and sleeping while they nap.

Sounds like you want to be a helper in school in the lunch room and then hop and a skip over to the gymn later. They can use sweet, loving Nanas like you.

You have all the experience. You think?

    Ha,ha.

  17. Oh no, a day inside! You'll need to get creative. How about a camping day - blankets over tables for tents, reading books by flash light and a picnic lunch. And there is always cookie baking! ... Good luck!

  33. Oh, it's so good of Grandma to take care of those boys. You know, I wouldn't leave my kids with anyone but my mom and mother-in-law. I bet you're so tired when they leave and need a nap of your own.

    Hang in there, dear.

    Love,

  48. This is too funny!!!...This is why we have kids when we are young...more patience and more energy...!..They are adorable...

  49. Oh I can soooooo relate to this. I know, you look at the clock and its like it does not move. I am now watching a friends two kids while she goes to college. She is one of Alexandra's friends. She has a 9 month old with separation anxiety and a 3 year old who is not much better. Tristen is delighted but scares the little girl because he is so eager and plays rough. He is used to playing with Reina who is older. I have to add that Reina will also be there for about 3 hours and Gabby is dropping off El Chubso (Cooper) so I may be a basket case by tomorrows end and you can bet that clock will be slow moving. I had not thought about the lacing thingies. I got a bunch of other stuff today though

  50. Hi Diana, that is the reason we have our children when we are young . . . once our "get up and go" has "got up and went" . . . it's hard to keep up with their tremendous level of energy.
When I visit my daughter I sleep like I'm dead to the world, not because the bed is more comfortable than my bed at home, but because I'm exhausted, LOL
The other side too it, is that they are so much fun. There is nothing quite so sweet as a young child.
    Have a fun week.
    Your blogging sister, Connie :)

  52. Oh boy!!I LOVE those kinds of days!! Honestly.....it always increases my faith in God and makes me more humble.....even I could murder someone, and I'm a nice person too!......but those urges are there....see...humility. I am more sympathetic with all those folks on death row now.

  53. I can remember days like this! I would go through my whole "Rainy Day Activity book" before 10 a.m. Hang in there!

  54. No fair! Rain on a babysitting day? How rude! Well, if you need to, dress them in rain gear and go teach them how to puddle jump! Or make popsicle stick or whatever you have boats and sail them around where you have water moving. I used to love doing that when I was a kid. They'e good guys though so I'm sure you'll survive LOL! Gooooooo nap time! Hugs, Leena
