President's Day Cherry Cheese Pie

The other day as I was visiting
some of my favorite blogs
I came across this recipe
on Beth Marie's Blog.

It looked like the perfect
dessert for President's Day.
After all wasn't
George Washington noted for
cutting down a cherry tree
and then NOT LYING about
cutting it down?
Well, thank you, I am honoring
good old Georgie's honesty,
by whipping up this pie.
I didn't have a graham cracker crust
so I made my own.
Here's my super-duper easy
recipe for a perfect pie crust.
Shhhhh-It's a secret-
While the crust cooled
I whipped up the cream cheese,
 and added the Eagle brand
condensed sweetened milk.
I then added the lemon juice
Yes! You MUST add lemon juice-
it is what makes it SET-
and the Cool Whip.
Of course I added a liberal tablespoon
of vanilla.

I wish I could lie and say this is
Calorie Free but someone
called me to task for my post
about my
I think the inference was that I might
go to Hell for lying!;<(
So, for today, I am walking the
straight and narrow, cuz
I don't like HOT!
No. I. Don't!

Ps.  SweetCheeks told me the other day
that the shorter you are the closer
you are to Hell!  LOL~
~except for babies- babies don't count
cuz babies can't go to Hell.
Thank you for that information, SweetCheeks.
I said-well, you are still pretty short.
I guess it goes by age because she
informed me that she is the
tallest one in her room.
Whew!
I am gonna start hanging out with
the Munchkins if  can find them~

Here's the recipe:

Easy Cherry Cheese Pie-Beth Marie

•8 inch graham cracker crust
•8 ounce pkg cream cheese softened
•14 ounce can of sweetened condensed milk
•1/3 cup bottled lemon juice
•1 tub of cool whip
•1 can cherry pie filling chilled (may use strawberry or blueberry)

Beat cream cheese till light and fluffy. Gradually beat in condensed milk. Stir in lemon juice and a teaspoon of vanilla (optional). Fold in whipped topping. Pour into crust. Chill at least two hours. Top with pie filling before serving.

Have a happy Tuesday!

  9. Thank you for giving me credit for the recipe Diana. The recipe has been floating around for at least 25 years so I can't take credit for it.

I never thought of using a baked pie crust. I think I would like it because it would cut down some on those dreaded calories. ;-)

  14. I make these from time to time. It's also good to use a sheet cake or a pan of brownies instead of a crust. Just pile that yummy white stuff on top and then the cherries and you have a yummy black forest desert.

You are going to have to keep these in a collection...
