Is this her favorite door?
Is THIS the door to her heart?
Kind of -This is the front
door to her house.
BUT-it is NOT her favorite door.
I took the picture yesterday
in the snow.
And look at the maple tree
just in front of her house.
It looks magical, doesn't it?
Is THIS the door to her heart?
Nope that is the door to the playhouse.
She does love it- 'specially because
it is a pink door.
And, as some of you know,
we have a little bitty door
built above our family room.
It is crawl access to the old
roof-we built out over part of
the old one and code demanded access.
They were going to stick it in a closet.
I said- Let's make this fun.
THIS is SweetCheeks
FAVORITE DOOR.
There are gnomes that live behind
the door.
One of my very first posts
was all about the gnomes
and SweetCheeks
first interactions with them.
You can read it here
But come Christmas
Santa takes over....
This is several feet off the ground and is
built back and over top of the dining room...
hard to explain.
As you can see, Santa has his list
and is checking it twice....
gonna find out who's naughty
and nice...
which means....
I am probably not gonna get anything
AGAIN this year!
Isn't that a great, magical
little door?
Have a wonderful Saturday!
ps. I am SO glad the world
didn't end yesterday.
I still have laundry to do!
OH, it is my favorite door too! I have been enchanted by your blog since I first learned about this special door :)
ReplyDeleteI am a little worried though... I don't see MY name on Santa's list...
I was naughty this year too, and Santa isn't bringing me a little magical door, but, I fooled him, I bought myself a gift. You still have time, run out and buy your heart's desire. Oh, weelll, maybe that man that lives in your house, might not take that too well, so just buy yourself something nice.
ReplyDeleteOh you will get something I am sure!
ReplyDeleteSweet Cheeks has some beautiful doors, love the snow pictures.
The secret door is too cute with Santa standing guard.
I try and be naughty every year..love that sweet little door..Hugs and smiles Gloria
ReplyDeleteI would have hated for you to go with your laundry undone. Whatever would you have worn? I love those first two photos. The snow is beautiful. We had a dusting yesterday morning, but it will be gone by this afternoon. I think maybe you are right about Santa, but there are still three more shopping days :)
ReplyDeletehope we get a little christmas snow, it would be so much funnier for the kids. Let's hope santa re-evaluates and takes you off of the naught list!
ReplyDeleteI love that door! I need a door for the gnomes and faeries :) I'm sure you're on the nice list. How could you not be, you make everyone smile. Have a wonderful Christmas!!!
ReplyDeleteYou should never be on the naughty list my friend, your heart is filled with love for others.

I just love your door!! The Christmas decor is perfect, especially the little wreath on it! I'm also in love with your front door - how inviting! Picture perfect with the snow coming down!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for visiting our crazy Baby cat!! She keeps us laughing with her antics! I'm just not sure the Christmas tree is going to last until Christmas!
Merry Christmas to you!

Diana, You have always decorated that shelf with the little door. It's so cute. The true is if we moms didn't keep laundry caught up, that would be the end of the world...done in by dirty smelly socks.ewwee. Enjoy this day...we have some sunshine, I better drink it in because the next few days' forecast, look dreary.xoxo,Susie
ReplyDeleteOoooh.... how utterly delightful!... I want to visit there!!!... no wonder it is Sweet Cheeks favorite door, it is mine too!... I loved reading about "George and Ethel"... do they still live there???... I am still a little girl... I always will be... and this post just made me smile so much!... I believe in elves and Santa... and make believe and magical doors... I will never stop believing and I hope your little ones will always believe too... you make everything SO wonderful for them!... xoxo Julie Marie
ReplyDeleteI remember you showing us that door, Diana, and thinking what a great whimsical idea it made, especially at Christmas! It looks like you got quite a bit of snow in your area. We got just enough to cover the grass and some surfaces. I think we are done for now, which is good, because I have to go out and I hate driving in snow. Merry Christmas, if I don't "see" you before! : )
ReplyDeleteI love the doors in snow - so pretty and serene! Oh how I'm wishing for snow here! And that little door is just charming!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great little secret door. Love your fun spirit. Sweetcheeks is lucky to have such an awesome Nana. xo
ReplyDeleteLove that sweet little door! Reminds me of Alice and wonderland!

Hi Diana! Love the story of your little door and little sweet cheeks! I can see why this would be her favorite. Merry Christmas, sweet friend.
ReplyDeleteYou're always a sweetie,
shelia :)
I loved seeing all the doors that could have been Sweet Cheek's favorite, and especially enjoyed reading about her favorite. You've made such a magical world for her...Merry Christmas to you and yours!

LOVE the little door and the snow pics. Diana, you are never naughty! xo
ReplyDeleteIt is a wonderful door, all the doors you showed are lovely, lovely snow. Fun grandmother!
ReplyDeleteThere you go you made me laugh again! Glad it didn't end because I still have to wrap gifts...I always dread it!!!
ReplyDeleteI love the little door no wonder she loves it! Love the Santa!
Love the secret dooor.
ReplyDeleteMe too.
We have lots of snow also.
I'm sure Santa will be leaving you something. A piece of coal at the very least. I'm always a little weirdest out about doors to nowhere. You're never quite sure what is going on behind them, but too scared to check it out.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pictures. Send one day of snow this way.
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas!
So pretty :)
ReplyDeleteWishing you a wonderful Christmas.
XO
Kristin
LOL!! So many doors in Sweet Cheeks life :)

Something to be Found
Lol! You are funny! I personally love the door to Sweet Cheeks' home-it looks lovely. What a lucky little girl to have a playhouse!
ReplyDeleteI don't know what is going on... I was having some issues the other day where a lady said my profile wasn't accesible so she couldn't find hte link to my blog. I fixed that, now i need to troubleshoot this one.
ReplyDeleteDoes this issue you reference occur when you try to reply to my comment on your blog page or were you trying to get back to my blog to comment?
Ahh, I am so new at this stuff -- have no clue what I'm doing ;)
Thanks for letting me know that there is some type of issue occuring.
Ok - I just added an email address to my blogger profile... I wonder if that will help?
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas Diana.
ReplyDeleteSmiles, Dottie
This post reminds me of that long ago song "What's Behind the Green Door?":-)
ReplyDeleteI hope I am not on Santa's "short list.":-)
xo Nellie
Awwe, every door is decorated. Diana, what fun your home is. You made this possible through love and joy.
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas,
warm hugs,
Cotton Peony
Diana: What a beautiful door
ReplyDeleteSweetCheeks has to enter at her home. Love the way it is decorated. As to her other doors, they are all special and what a treat for any little girl and big ones too! I'm so glad we will all live to see another day! It makes Christmas all that more special, and gives us all time to do laundry. Take time out though to enjoy Christmas with your family. See you next year!..Judy
Merry Christmas Diana,
ReplyDeleteLove "your snow" :)
Suzann ~xoxo~
Diana, love both the door to her home and the door to the playhouse. I'm sure she loves the playhouse door and grandma's! I'm glad we're still here but I'm still in my pajama's and it's after 3 PM. Love all the little touches in "sweet cheeks" playhouse.
ReplyDeleteWell, since I would have to climb a ladder to get to that door, I don't think it is my favorite! You know what happens when I get on the ladder...
ReplyDeleteLove the picture of their front door in the snow. That is a Christmas card photo!
If I don't get over here by Tuesday, have a very Merry Christmas!
DIANA! HELLO THERE!
ReplyDeleteI am very pleased to meet you; I have seen your lovely photo around Blogland and I am very happy to see that you came by today! I love that red door!
Many wishes to you and your loved ones as you celebrate the holidays!!!!! Anita
Diana, I hope that you and your family have a safe, wonderful Merry Christmas.
ReplyDeleteTake care all, Janet W

ReplyDeleteI love your little gnome door too.
You always come up with such creative ideas!
If the world had ended yesterday, you would not be stuck doing laundry. Just think of that! On the other hand, nobody would have known about your dirty laundry! Well, the world is still here and I guess we're so grateful that we will do our dirty laundry with the greatest of joy! What am I saying? I think I'm tired. I'm not making sense, am I? As for that amazing door, what child would not be fascinated with that? Especially its location! It's like something has to be going on in there. That's what the little girl in me would think whenever she happened to look up and see it.
ReplyDeleteHeh Diana-
ReplyDeleteWhat a great post-I love the door theme. I like the access one they put in-it does seem that it could be the way to the gnomes or fairies. I wonder if the girls would love to make fairy gardens this summer-
Barb's and Jane's are just so sweet that I want to do eight of them. (why eight?-I don't know...) LOL
That is a super cute door. I can see why Sweet Cheeks likes it.
ReplyDeleteJealous of all that snow for about sixty seconds.
ReplyDeleteLove the door.
xoxo
Diana that is a fun little door! And I love that you decorate it! I'm glad too that the world didn't end - I don't really want to see it end on a day someone has predicted - God said we can't know the day or hour.
ReplyDeleteAnd I always have laundry to do it seems!
Very cute door! Never saw one like that. Just had to drop by. Your poke cake brought back memories, I used to make a red-white-blue one for 4th of July years back. xo
ReplyDeleteDiana,
ReplyDeleteI just wanted to pop over and wish you a very Merry Christmas!!!
I absolutely love that beautiful front door! Very charming.
Hope to see you often in the new year!
Hugs.
Happy Holidays!
Elizabeth
I think Sweet-Cheeks knows what she's talking about! This is a cute little door!
ReplyDeleteI'm pretty sure you haven't been bad enough to not make 'the list' Diana : )
I was pretty happy to wake up and find out that the earth was still in one piece too : )
Merry Christmas!
hugs from here...
How Sweet ~ I Love Sweet Cheeks real home door, but Santa's guarded door indeed is My Favorite.... What wonderful memories your Grands will have! Wishing You & Your Family a Very Merry Christmas

What a fun little door, Diana! I can see why this is SweetCheeks favorite! I would have to say my favorite door is the door to your playhouse:) The snow is just magical, we just received a dusting of it. Oh, I bet when your Hero is bad, you put him behind that little door, don't you???
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas to you and your family, Sweet Cheeks and Julia's picture went to the nursing home with me today. Hubby enjoyed seeing them. Made him wish he had a couple of little girls to spoil. I love her door and the snow looked like what we got only we had high winds with ours. I love the front door to your home. Have a wonderful Christmas with all of your little ones. Hugs and Prayers from Your Missouri Friend.
ReplyDeleteWell, if the world was going to end you might as well not bother with the laundry. I love that door! In fact, I love all secret doors.
ReplyDeleteI love your little magical door! The snow looks beautiful and how wonderful that you will have a white Christmas! Merry Christmas, Diana!
ReplyDeleteIt sure is beautiful in your neck of the woods! And the tiny door is my fav, too. I would like to peek inside! Merry Christmas to you and your sweet family!
ReplyDeleteHi Diana,
ReplyDeleteWhat a darling door and the story. Just delightful and I can see why this is Sweet Cheeks favorite. You have given us such Christmas joy by sharing this. Everyone should be a child again at Christmas with the wonder in a story like yours.
Your pics are always perfect.
Merry Christmas to you and your dear family.
Hugs, CM
Oh...Diana! Your comment about the end of the world and still having laundry to do really puts it in perspective!
ReplyDeleteSmiles,
Carolynn xxx
This girl has a door fetish so I love them all. Especailly that red one! Had to laugh at the end of the world comment. I was glad too because I have lots of Christmas candy I haven't eaten yet. Heck with the laundry!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Jann
Listen friend, you are so hilarious. I think you missed your comedy calling! Love the doors and all your stories.
