Where Have All The Birdies Gone?

Some of you have
asked me how our
babies are doing?

Looking at this picture-
What is your best guess?
Want a second picture
just to make sure?
How about a few words?
Nana! They'hre GONE!
Whehre did they GO?
Whut?

Someone is headed
over to sit on the
steps to have a little
cry all by herself.
Another hard life lesson.
Most little birds fly
the nest at some point
 and we are
NEVER READY....

  2. Oh dear, what a sad little face! The birds can boast that they came from the best nest ever though.

  3. Just precious. Perhaps you can do something special with that sacred nest.

  5. Awwww. That IS a hard life lesson. You should find the episode of The Andy Griffith Show called something like Opie the Birdman - it's one of the very best ones and the last line will make her smile again.

  6. Awww, she got so attached to them. She's going to see lots of baby birds in her lifetime; especially if you get them back in that spot. Maybe that will console her and be something to look forward to.

  10. Diana, You go put an "x" on those steps, where sweetcheeks is crying....cause when that little one flys the nest, you need to know where to sit and cry. Honest girlfriend, it will hurt so badly. My beautiful Sierra, flew to Florida...it just about killed me . I only survive because she is in love and happy. Tell s.c. I am still looking for my baby cardinals. I often wonder do birds come back to their nest, once they fly away.???? Anyone?? xoxo, Susie

  13. It is a mixed blessing when they are gone-we miss seeing them but no more mess. Last night we had a whopper of a storm and I worried about our Dove's nest in the gutter. We got 2" of rain in 45 min. plus hail-all I could think of is were there still eggs, were there babies-did they make it and where was momma? I doubt we'll be checking today.
Have a great weekend dear friend-thanks for your kind prayers for Hunter.
    Love, Noreen

  14. Poor little SweetCheeks, I guess she's finding out that life can sometimes hurt. When we see our little ones hurting, we hurt right along with them, perhaps even more than them.

  19. Ahh, it's a hard lesson to learn, but it happens. I'm doing a post later tonight about my birdies being gone and I could not be happier!!! They poop way too much for me.

  21. It's kind of metaphor for life. Welcome to the real world "Sweet Cheeks". As a Nana don't you just hate when they have to see those things?

  22. I think they flew over to my place to play with the two magpies that taunt my cats every morning.

  29. Awwwww! I understand how she feels. I've gotten close to little birds that have nested with us before. It's kind of sad when they're gone. But at least they're healthy and flying around to make families of their own one day. We once found a baby bird on the ground and tried our best to save it. The next morning, we found it dead. My youngest son cried terribly afterwards. He was so sad. He even named him and hoped that we could raise it. It was not meant to be.

  32. How true...I didn't think I would ever get used to my empty nest but I have found a few things to fill it now.

  33. Awwww...she has the tenderest little heart. No...we are never, ever ready! Mine have flown and I'm still not ready!!

    ReplyDelete
  34. Well, we are seldom ready! I wouldn't say NEVER! I have a son whom I am ready to see spread his wings and fly! He'll be 28 next month and he's still at home. I do like having him, though. I just have plans for his room. *LOL*

  35. How sad. They left so soon? They do grow up too fast.

    ReplyDelete
  36. No we are not!! Not at any age! (well take that back, I have a friend who has 30 somethings at home - they NEED to spread their wings and fly on away!) But mostly, we never want to see them go!

It's OK Sweet Cheeks, (pat, pat, pat) you can cry a bit!

    Blessings,
    Donna

  37. I know how she feels. Hubby and I found three birds that Momma bird booted out of nest. She was feeding them on the ground. Well I could not believe it. That night it called for cold weather. These little birds were having just a wee feather covering. Anyhow. I looked out an hour later. Momma bird was showing them how to fly. Then in the morning underneath where she booted them out. They and her were huddled to-gether. So now I am a happy camper but to a child they have loss their best friends.Of course they take it a little different then grownups. A cry is good for her soul. She will be okay later.
