Six Months Til Christmas!

Do you want to shoot me?
It's about 90º here.
Does it make you think
of Christmas shopping?
Well, being as I am usually
the last one to the
party...I wanted to be
the first one
to mention Christmas.

Speaking of Christmas,
Did you know that hunting
down the perfect
Christmas tree can
be dangerous?
Don't believe me?
Look at this....
It's enough to make you want
to never go to a
"cut your own tree place"
ever again.
Or..as SweetCheeks likes to
call it
That STOOOPID TRHEE PLACE.

Okay-
I am going to go hide now
before some blogger
decides to
hunt me down
and hurt me.
Have a great day and remember~
It is never too early
to start
Christmas shopping.
The six months will be gone
before you know it!;>)

  2. Don't do live trees here,At Christmas... but you can walk anywhere on our place, rather than right around the house, and get slapped in the face by a limb.

Thanks for the reminder, I'll start shopping tomorrow..........not.

  3. LOL! Great picture of Sweetcheeks, Diana! It is not too early. I'm already planning ahead for gifts. Plus, with an Etsy shop, I'm planning on things to make for it. Well, actually I'm up to Halloween and Fall stuff that I'll be working on next. Hobby Lobby already started putting up their Christmas stuff last week when I was there!

  4. HAHAHA! We already have our big Christmas present and a couple stocking stuffers for our girls. After going broke around Christmas time for several years in a row, I am always on the lookout for Christmas presents. Thank you for the reminder!

  5. I will the one who says it "please don't remind me"! But yes I have a little stash started for that big day just 6 months away. I guess I need to start adding more to it and soon.

Not sure when or how though. :o) So far it's just a thought in the back of my mind...you never know. It just may stay there! Hope your week is lovely!

ps. YEs the smash book is just that. add stuff and smash it between the covers with the included glue stick/pen! It is one of those things that is so easy it makes you think there is a catch, but there isn't!!

  10. I was thinking of that last night. I do have SOME presents bought - but with our family getting as big as it is, I have TONS of shopping to do. At least Amazon delivers to my door.

  13. I am going to point my finger at you. Of course in love. To each their own and I see you have many followers of the Big Christmas Ahead already. Ya!

I find Christmas very sad sad every year. You may ask why?

Alot of children do not get gifts for Christmas. Dad's are out of work and Moms. The list goes on. That is the time that good wills ask for toys for kids. Some not even get enough for children how much we give. How then does a Mom tell her child. Santa passed by or we have no work to the kids that do not believe in Santa. The teens.

I find more people are not happy at that time. More people are complaining. Too much planning to do, have not time to decorate the tree tonight. The tree dont fit in the room or it is too small or the tree looks so scraggy what I paid for it or the artificial tree looks too fake. Never ends of complaints. Half of the people complain about the present they got or did not get. These are people like us. People who can give gifts. Yet how many of us complain of something at Christmas? You notive people are stressed before Christmas is here. Slow down people.

All I ever hear after Christmas. Thank goodness we got Christmas over with. Way too much work. I am beat. All I ever was. In the kitchen . Thank godness it comes once a year.

Then you hear. I ate so much that after New Years . I am going on a diet. When some people have know food for their bellies. They would love a big meal people complain about.

Other then Christ is the Reason. Most complained about Christmas big time. It is more talked about presents then For Christ is the reason. Oh we go to church, we read our bibles but you hear more about the gifts that day and for the whole week. Sorry my friend. If we had peace towards families less complaining . It would be sooo peaceful less stressful.

So I pass with six months before Christmas. I can enjoy every day of Spring, summer and fall with a Amen.
To beable to look up at the sky or see sun shinning or a bird singing. To me that is a joy that remains. Not running with heads cut off to please them for Christmas.

Okay aim fire at me. Guys. I know. You may think I am a pessimist. That I am seeing the cloud instead of the silver linning of Christmas. Not really.
Sure what silver linning there is at Christmas.I should be seeing.

In reality more people suffer without at christmas then any other season. It is fact. And as a Christian. I feel quilty of those who have nothing. Little children do not understand but when other children get presents others not. How does that effect a Mom and Dad for her child or children. Being not able to put food on the table and a present or two under the tree for Christmas. See we who have much. Really do not have the feeling inside like those who have nothing. Maybe as a kid we knew what poor meant. I mean now. Do we really know our neighbours needs. Or we just say good morning near Christmas. Run to the car, drag this big tree out of the trunk. Someone's child looking out the window may say. Mom why can we not have a tree like them?

Sorry to take up you post.

You hit a soft core in me today on the subject of Christmas. To me Christmas is very sad to those who have not. I give at that time and I am sure all you do.

You cannot save the world. The poor you will have always.

I really think the days are gone to give from the heart. It has become too commercial on T.V and what is in styles or name brands. That is what it is all about now..receive unless it is in per say. It becomes what if he or she does not like it. Or I know she wouldnt like that. She would like this better. All about in the pickins.

Now if you say. That is not in our famiy or friends. Then you are truly blessed. They except nor complain. Amen.

You should write a book. It would be a great Inspiration.

    Love ya.

  14. WHAT? I am certainly not ready to think about Christmas. Instead, my thoughts are wandering towards fall and football season. That is a very busy time for us. We don't buy many gifts any more, so I don't shop in advance like I did years ago.

  15. Diana, my friend, my friend.

what can I say??? Ugh...comes to mind.

  16. Already working on my "gift stash," Diana.:-) The next six months will pass all too quickly, particularly for those of us in the "older adult" category.:-) Allergies dictate an artificial tree around here, so no more tree farms for us.

  27. Hi Diana: I probably won't even be caught up with all the blogs before Christmas but come October I start humming Christmas carols and then it's full steam ahead, and I love every minute of it..Happy Monday..Judy

  28. Hi Diana! No shopping for me because I give everyone money. My grandchildren are all grown up and they can get what they want and they love that! The same with my children. I also give my granddaughters a gift certificate for Chapters. They like that. All three love to read. I put the certificate in a fancy Christmas bag, insert the card with the money and I fill the bag with a huge assortment of boxes of candies, the sort of candies I know each of them likes. But for now, Diana, I just want to enjoy the summer.

I must confess though that I hate to take my Christmas tree down. I know this is horrible but I sometimes take it down the third week of January. I just get so attached to those lights and beautiful tree decorations.
