Why did I think
TODAY
was the
FIRST DAY
of summer?
It was yesterday!
What do I LOVE about
summer?
Pink Lemonade Slushes!
I love the way the wind
ruffles the waves
out in front of the house.
I love that our
Fairy Garden
is flourishing...
I love driving across
the peninsula
to Algoma and
watching the kids play
in the
BIG WATER of Lake Michigan.
I love the slow roll
of fog that wraps
its hazy arms around
the lighthouse.
But, most of all,
I love our backyard
and the faces you see.

Gotta love a face like that!
Yes, Summer started yesterday. So you're kinda slow, I still love you!

The fairy garden is looking great now. I like the sound of the strawberry lemonade. And SweetCheeks face in the last pic looks like someone forgot to put the sugar in her lemonade!
ReplyDeleteYou certainly have all the makings for a perfect summer day! I can't wait to hit the beaches of Lake MI in a few days!
ReplyDeleteA perfect day to me would be sitting in your yard sipping a Pink Lemonade slushy, facing the water, and catching that face out of the corner of my eye, Diana! Enjoy it all!
ReplyDeleteI thought summer always started on June 21st. What happened? When did it change to June 20th and who changed it? And IS CHRISTMAS STILL GOING TO BE DECEMBER 25th?
ReplyDeleteI mean, REALLY? Why change things that have been working perfectly for ages?
And the iced lemonade and Sweet Cheeks face look pretty inviting. Summer is sensational! I hope it's not shorter. Did they take a day away or will fall start one day later, too?
You are so cute. I think that slushy looks yummy! ha

One wonderful summer day! what a beautiful lighthouse. And the Slushee would be a wonderful refresher after working in those flowers.
ReplyDeleteI would have to agree that the face in the backyard is the best. Happy summer my friend.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Laura
Summer at your house sure looks like fun. I could move right into that fairy garden if I was just a little bit smaller.. ok , a whole lot smaller. LOL
ReplyDeleteYou're in such a great location. I know the grandchildren must love to visit -- especially if you give them pink drinks!
ReplyDeleteI love how your fairy garden is in a wheelbarrow. Do you actually move it around the yard? My daughter would love this...
ReplyDeleteDiana, Your fairy garden is looking great. That was one of the things I saw in Shipshewana that I truly liked. You will have sooo many picture of sc, to show her when she's a primping teen:):):) It's going to be smouldering here the next few days...it already was the past few .LOL Smiles, xo, Susie
ReplyDeleteI'm just like you. I had it in my head that summer started on June 21. Finally I realized that date was my late mother in law's birthday. (Maybe I NEVER knew when summer started. hehehe)
ReplyDeleteI would love it, if it was not 90+ degrees...yuck!
ReplyDeleteFunny. Gotta love that face!
ReplyDeleteYummy, and your fairy garden is looking great!!! :D Happy Summer!!!

I saw your photograph with, obviously, a glass of something ....and I thought 'oh no...what has she been up to now?' but I'm glad that it was alright....! Loved the 'face'!!! Joan
ReplyDeleteWhat lovely summer activities you have mentioned! I'd love to be in the "big water.":) Just be glad that is a face of summer and not of winter, else it might freeze like that!:)

Enjoy the start of summer! So hot here in NY!
ReplyDeleteOne of those icy slushes would have been great yesterday when it was mid 90's. Today it is a lot cooler. . . supposed to get down to 55 tonight. LOVE that!!

ReplyDeleteWarmly,
