Isn't that what kids say?
Bike Me?
Oh!
It's BITE-NOT BIKE.
Anyhow..
Bike Me Baby!
I got my bike painted!
Remember this?
The psychedelic shirt?
Y'all laughed
at that shirt, didn't you?
Little did you know
that I was going to
paint my bike
crazy colors....
See?
See?
Cool huh?
Now, remember....
I started with
THIS!
I couldn't get the three
speed stuff off so I had
to cut it with wire cutters.
MyHero's last words this morning?
You aren't gonna paint that bike
PINK, are you?
I don't want a PINK bike
in front of the house!
My reply?
Hmmm...Not 'xactly..
Hmmm...Remember
Lucy & Ricky?
Gonna have some
'splaning to do~
So...being a good girl..Pffffttt..
I painted her white.
Seat close up-painted white-first coat.
Crazy color polka dots...
Now comes the FUN part...
Spray painting OVER the dots!
Now..see...don't you think
this is a good compromise?
Not 'xactly PINK.
Not 'xactly white!
Can you see the polka dots on
the fenders?
Sorry...not very good picture there.
It is the softest pink imaginable.
Ballet Pink by Krylon..
Such a soft pink it is
Almost White.
Where did my inspiration
come from?
She MADE me do it!
She wanted it to match
HER BIKE!
Papa won't complain
about the color
TOO MUCH
cuz he kinda likes
SweetCheeks!
I found this for the
back carrier.
Spray painted to match, of course.
Shoot! I didn't get a picture of it.
It's painted pink AND white!
I stuck some plants in her
so you could see her
"dressed"
I have to DO UP the front carrier yet~
But, so far...
I am loving it.
And look what else it matches..
SweetCheeks
own little watering can.
Is that the cutest
watering can
you ever saw?
So...those who guessed
white were right..
Those that guessed
pink were right...
and those that begged
me to paint it green
are plumb outta luck.
Those polka dots add the perfect touch. Very sweet. Looks like a strong line of storms is heading across the big lake to MI. Good thing you were able to sneak in some painting yesterday.
ReplyDeleteWow,
ReplyDeleteGreat job. I like the new look. :)
Nana's happy. Papa's happy and SweetCheek's is happy too.
Have a wonderful day.
Take care, Janet W
LOL! Great post, Diana! I love it! Love the polka dots. Let us know how it goes when you explain to Sweet Cheeks that you won't actually be riding it. : )
ReplyDeleteAs long as you like it, thats the important thing! I do like the white pinkish. But I still have to admit, if it had been mine I would have painted it green......LOL
ReplyDeleteSO CUTE!!! Well done :)
ReplyDeleteLove the way you've painted it! I wouldn't have guessed pink/white....I could see you do it psychedelic in stripes and spots....looks good though! Joan
ReplyDeletewell it looks just perfect and that is the sweetest watering can ever!
ReplyDeleteThat is the best looking bike i have ever seen barr none!!! Was the original your own bike diana? I would have never thought to paint the whole bike! seat included!!! I wish your giveaway had gone for a bit longer.. but my kids were born in 97, 2000 and 2005, so might not have worked!!!! Hope the weather is warming up for you all now... does it get very warm in summer over there? I am so missing the heat now! It can still get up to 28 c during the day but maybe ten or so at night, and chilly in the morning!!! Hope you are well! lots of love to you!!

The polka dots and white-pinkish.. Perfect! I love it!!
ReplyDeleteso lovely!!! looks beautiful with basket of flowers!
ReplyDeleteWhat about TURQUOISE? Well...that settles it...you need another bike now! heehee! It looks marvelous, my friend!
ReplyDeleteVery cute!
ReplyDeleteBut your post title is offensive! Or maybe it's hilarious? I can't make up my mind!
m.
I think thats the cutest old bike ever...you know mine is white...but there is another one out there just waiting for the spray cans...
ReplyDeleteI am liking your polka dot thing. I think one in celery and dots.
Tell John and Jettie to get over it. This is one of the colors that I wanted but they can't get at our lumber yard and the guys say walmart doesn't have it. After seeing the color there, I think its a mission for Rebecca! If its pink, she can find it!
Its 80 here already this morning and humid. Yuck.
Oh...this is SO sweet, Diana! I love the shade of pink and the polka dots! Now make sure you get a chain and lock it around a large rock or railing or something so someone doesn't steal it...oh, I forgot, that's just around here!! ;-D
ReplyDeleteNice job! Sweet Cheeks must be thrilled!
XO,
Jane
Fantabuloso!!!!
ReplyDeleteSweet Diana, I love polka dots! and so subtle, oh, your Hero must jus' lobe it!!
Great job - When my sweetie sees this, mine's a go!!
There's the brightest yellow hanging in the corner tree of the nursery downtown, and that's all he sees right now. He told me it had to be an itty bitty one with training wheels. I think, he too, saw a bright, bright pink coming to our yard!! (my fav color, too)
Thank you Diana from women everywhere who will now get a bicycle in their yards...
Great job,
Hugs,
Donna
That bicycle is a work of art, Diana! Of course, it needed to match SweetCheeks' bike! I'll agree - painting once is enough.:-)
ReplyDeletexoxo Nellie
That's quite the prettiest bicycle I have ever seen. You should do a blue and white polka dot one for your hero!
ReplyDeleteToo cute Diana. I love the polka dot idea. I have an old bike. Guess what color I painted it? That would be turquoise. Really the first few years it was yellow. Then I when it faded I went to my new fav color. I haven't planted it for the season yet. Yours is so cute and I bet Sweet Cheeks loves it.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Jann
Oooh it is too sweet Diana, I love it!... and I knew you would have a basket of beautiful flowers in the front... hmmm... I really want one now!... xoxo Julie Marie

ReplyDeleteI love it! I must say that I've never seen a polka dotted bike, how fun! You had me a little worried there when I saw those funny looking stickers on the bike, though! And the basket of geraniums is the perfect touch! Now I want to find a bike to paint (and glitter, haha!).
ReplyDeleteIt would have been better for your health if you would have just kept it burgandy and actually RODE it. :) Looks cute though. When are you going to add a garage on to the playhouse for all of the boy's cars?
ReplyDeleteDiana you are such a hoot! I love it but wish I could see it better. Great job-I forgot it was going to be a decoration and not a bike for riding.
ReplyDeleteHope you have a delightful day.
Hugs, Noreen

ReplyDeleteOh, that is so cool, Diana! I have a vacation pic from some little town near Washington DC that I am going to send you when I locate it...now, this is NOT something we would want to do, but it WAS eye-catching! Someone had taken had taken probably over 100 old bikes and painted them all stark white, and made a fence with them...some had funny little things on them, birdcages, etc...it was a hoot, really! Big news--we're going on vacation to Florida on Monday! We'll be gone a week and I am excited...I just found out and am really thrilled!
Love,
Cindy
The polka dots are perfect! I think I would have blamed MyHero's failing eyesight in his older age for making the bike look slightly pink. Pink, I don't see any pink, what are you talking about, that's white!
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh I love it? Are you going to ride that down the road? So cute!!!!
