Wondering where I am?
Here's a hint..
Yes! Yes!
The Bahamas!
Wait..
I may be mistaken.
What's that?
No palm trees?
No leaves?
Nope!
Can't be the Bahamas
then, can it?
I love it here-
Up Nort'
(as they say in this
area-the H is silent)
It reminds me of being
a kid again...
a carefree tree climber-
that's what I was.
The other day I told
God I sure wished I
could climb a tree again.
Do you think maybe He is
giving me an opportunity here?
Hmmmm..still a little steep
for this gal.
Now HERE'S a tree I
can probably climb.
And no one will be sitting
here watching me today...
Too cold... 38º to be exact.
We always dream a bit
about buying a little piece
of Heaven up here
but so far...we just look....
and dream...
and go home where
all the kids and grandkids
await us.
Just so I wouldn't get
bored without all the
kids around I brought
along my own
Tickle Me Elmo doll.
Notice he is gazing
at something with
rapt attention.
Is he looking at this beautiful
view just outside our window?
Nope!
He is gazing at
something exploding on TV.
Shoot!
I knew I should have brought
something to play with..
Oh~Wait~I did!
I did!
Maybe later, when I am bored,
I'll bring out the
REAL FUN GAMES..
You know one of those
Fantasy Games
some people play...
Like I pretend I'm
Sue Smith (sorry Sue)
and Sammy Slapp (sorry Sammy)
pretends to pick me up?
No? What do you mean
GET REAL?
Well, then I guess it
is back to the regular
old
52 Pick Up Card Game!
Yep...much more my speed!
Hope YOU are having
as exciting of a day
as I am!;>)
Enjoy your time up north! Lovely views. My husband got a burn permit and he'll be playing with fire today. The girls and I are going to find some "projects" to do indoors.
ReplyDeletetime away is good no matter what you do!
ReplyDeleteSounds like we might be married to brothers. 38 degrees ouch! It's 60 here and I'm bundle up to the chin.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the view and be careful around those trees.
If you do climb a tree, please be careful; I'm not sure your Elmo would notice seeing as how he's concentrating so hard. :)
ReplyDeleteBundle up and enjoy that gorgeous view, but I would definitely stay away from those trees! They look pretty hazardous to me… Have a wonderful weekend!
ReplyDeleteDon't have too much fun!!
ReplyDeleteI bet you could climb a tree if you wanted to! Go for it.... and take a picture. Just have your DH there in case you need a little help getting down!
ReplyDeleteHi Diana! Whatever you do, don't even attempt to climb that tree. Play with your cards or your computer or go for beautiful nature walks. Just relax and breathe in the wonderful fresh air. Have a wonderful time.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your Saturday! What a pretty water view.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure the only thing that holds you back from scaling those trees is the weather! Enjoy your vacay! ~ Maureen
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pictures! I think you can have fun no matter where you are...enjoy the weekend!
ReplyDeleteenjoy every moment, whatever ya decide to do..
ReplyDeleteI'm green with envy! It looks like you are having a great time in spite of the temps. It's just so nice to get away from the routine. Wish I were there!
ReplyDeleteHappy Weekend!
XO,
Jane
Always nice to get out where you can hear nature and take it in beauty. Enjoy the weekend
ReplyDeleteLooks like a very pretty place to get away! Hope you have a wonderful weekend!
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Janet
What is it with guys who just can't leave the TV be? If you go to a cabin without a tv, then there is no running water or indoor plumbing like the cheap places in Yellowstone Park.
ReplyDeleteYou almost took me in..then I remembered it was you....and am beginning to 'suss out' your sense of humour!! Glad that you could enjoy such lovely scenery and ...maybe ...someday...there will be a tree for you to climb! Joan
ReplyDeleteDiana, I was sad when I could not read your site early this morning....then I remembered you went away for the weekend. Hope it's a great time with Elmo:):) Careful climbing girl, you could skin your knees. Smiles, xo, Susie
ReplyDeleteHi, Diana! Do you know what an absolute BLESSING you are? I always know, without a doubt, when I visit your blog I will smile but often you have me laughing out loud! Thank you! Thank you! I've been catching up and have enjoyed every minute! You truly have a gift for writing with humor and I thank you for sharing this gift! Enjoy your time away!
ReplyDeleteIt appears that you had more luck with the hotel Internet than I had on our brief time away. I'm really behind on my blog-following and may never catch up.:) Hopefully that TV has an on/OFF button!:)
ReplyDeleteA change is always welcome, and the Bahamas..... too good :-)
ReplyDeleteNice pictures Diana....love your Tickle Me Elmo doll...it looks just like your MyHero ;-)
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your mini vacation!!!
Suzann ~xoxo~
You are hilarious, Diana!!! I LOVE the pictures and I wish I was on a tropical vacation...I've been so busy writing that I haven't seen the light of day and it's 80 degrees out!
ReplyDeleteSending (((hugs)))) your way and lots of love,
Cindy
Have fun!!!!!!! 38 degrees? WOW! We were in the mid 80's here today. Crazy!
ReplyDeleteYou're so funny! Is this northern Michigan? Sure looks like waterways I'm used to.
ReplyDeleteI picked something cute up for you....saw it and just had to get it cuz it's soooooooooooo Diana! I'll get it out to you this coming week. Something small but sweet.
