Where are we going?
Anybody's guess...
Do WE know?
Nope!
We are kind of nomadic like that..
We get in the car,
load our bags in..
and off we go...
The car is serviced and
road-ready~
The house is house-sat,
The laundry is all done
and I even scrubbed
and polished the hardwood floors
before we left?
What?
Well, I didn't want the housesitter
to think I was lazy!
So....finally...
too tired to move-
We are off!

We usually head North
but I am thinking this time we
will head West and go
along the
Mighty Mississippi for a bit
I love the paddleboats
on the river.
and then we will follow the river up
to the Superior/Duluth area.
We love it up there.
My soul always longs for
Big Water.
If I can't have the ocean,
I want the lake..
Big Water..
the
GitcheeGummee..
The place of legends..
We hope to see lots of
Fall color like this...
AND..
When we get to Duluth I want to
see Glensheen
AGAIN...
We made this trip with my
daughter-in-love and MamasBoy
a few years ago.
She spent summers up there
with her family
and I was fascinated by
Glensheen...
and the story of murder and
intrigue that is part and parcel
of her history.
Let's hope I don't have
to commit murder to
be able to visit here again...
because
You-Know-Who
is
NOT ALWAYS
agreeable to visit
spooky places.
I'll let you know
if we go~
Watch for smoke signals..
just in case I don't have Wi-Fi!
Have a safe and happy trip! It looks beautiful and I'm sure it is if you have any fall color. Take pictures.
ReplyDeleteI hope you told the housesitter that you wanted the house to look the very same when you got back, no stains on those hardwood floors, no dirty dishes, no glasses setting on the good furniture.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your trip. Want to hear all about it when you return...
How fun! Nothing like getting in a car with no specific plan....I am sooo due for a fun spur of the moment road trip like that!! Enjoy...and safe travels!
ReplyDeleteDiana, how fun. I would love to just get in the car and go with no plans. Have fun and I will be watching for those smoke signals.
ReplyDeletesounds like heaven to me.I know how you feel about big water.Sometimes I forget that everyone doesn't have these mighty lakes on their doorstep and it reminds me how lucky we are.I hope for the best of best holidays for you,,
ReplyDeleteHave fun and I can't wait to see the pictures.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful time Diana! Wish I could see those paddleboats but not the spooky place I'm with your husband there!LOL

Suzann ~xoxo~
Have a nice time Diana!
ReplyDeleteI am the same way about water. It soothes my soul...the closest I have gotten to the lake in the last 12 years is my bath tub. I'm over due.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful time and get some rest....by the way you carry on hitting the road is the only way you are gonna rest.
I'm watching for the smoke signals
hugs
That sounds so very fun Diana! I love your spunk for life too. You have an amazing energy, and sounds like you found the perfect soul mate who can keep up with you. Safe travels.

Hope you have a great trip, Diana! While you are on the road, why don't you just trek a few miles further west and come and visit us?! I promise that there never would be a dull moment (ha, ha! But how could there be, with the two of us together?! Hope you get some great fall colors, I am missing fall back in the Midwest!
ReplyDeleteSounds like a great road trip Diana!
ReplyDeleteJim and I are almost at the point where we can do that...can't wait!
That looks like a great route to take. The fall color is spectacular. I hope you see a lot of it and maybe even a ghost or two. Have fun!
