The Birds-Alfred Hitchcock-Are You Out There?

We woke early and sat
sipping coffee.

Looking out our bayside windows
we saw quite a sight.

Birds!
Birds and more birds!

Headed NORTH?
Seriously?
Aren't you guys supposed
to be headed
SOUTH?

It's a bird...
It's a plane..
NO-
It's definitely, definitely, definitely
(remember Rainman)
BIRDS!
The film is about 40 seconds
long and you will notice
that there are a couple
of
SMART BIRDS
headed South!
I heard THAT!
Who said
Duck Soup?

So....if there was a hunter
out front with a gun..
could it be said
he was
Shooting A Bird?

  1. Our air current was weird Monday- 3 layers of clouds- the middle one going one way and the other 2 going the other. Maybe it confused them.
Geese are flying south here now.
But nothing like that. The regular smaller birds are gathering in the trees getting ready. We had a murder just northeast of here yesterday morning. I hate crows. They kill other birds.
We have had a 40 degree temperature change in the last few days and that could have them in a panic, too.
I went to bed at 2 and back up at 4.
I think I might eat some eggs and head back to bed.

  5. Ooh that is almost Alfred Hitchcock like. We saw something similar the other day over the water while we were at the beach, just a large group of birds flying over the water like that. I wonder if they know something we don't!!

  6. You need to come visit me in about 2 months. We have had for the past three years at least 200 buzzards that camp out in our trees (1/2 acre) for 3 months. It is just awful. We have worked with the Ohio Dept. of
Natural Resources and they have been to our home. They are nasty. Should see our cars.....seriously, it isn't purty.

  7. Oh wow, that's a whole lots of birds! I actually love the Alfred Hitchcock movie The Birds. I've seen it a ton of times. I thought Rod Taylor was dreamy! Am I dating myself with that comment? But in real life, I'd probably be freaked out by that many birds!

  8. We live near a river, and Canadian Geese stay here year around. If you go over to the river, take ear plugs. They also fly over our house a lot, in the spring and fall, and can get pretty loud....

  9. As I was about to type a response, I looked out the window and saw an eagle. And he was flying south, haha! Sounds like the birds in WI are totally confused! And I thought you said you lived on the "good" side of the bay!!!

  12. Chuckle! Hellooooo, guys!? That'a way! >>>>>
    Kind of creepy so many.

Yesterday we had a hawk land on our large bird feeder & sit & stare into our office window. We both were afraid to move to get the camera. Awesome birds.

Today the squirrels are driving us crazy. Must be a nasty winter coming on the way they are eating & digging holes in the ground again. Ugh!

TY for your note. I'll read it to Sherry tonight.
Have a great eve, Diana ~
    Hugs of love,

  13. I have to tell you I do get spooked when I see a lot of birds lining up on a power line!
But ducks or geese flying south-No. I love to see their migration and hear the honking as they pass.

  15. That is kind of creepy. I saw The Birds when I was only 7, and it freaked me out! Big flocks of birds still give me the willies.
