I came home from work
and looked out the window.
We don't get many days
with big waves on the Bay
during the Summer months.
When I saw the waves,
I called my daughter and
told her to bring the girls
out to
Jump The Waves.
Lulu & Ria remember
this from last year.
For SweetCheeks it was a whole
new experience.
It was fun to watch them
as they all waded out into
the waves together.
and, just for a moment,
I felt like a kid again myself...
'Deed I did!
A little deeper and the waves
get a big heavier...
Ria encourages SweetCheeks
to go out just a bit further.
(ummm..that is what happens
to MY suit too and I can't
blame it on a life jacket strap!
And here she is..
right in the midst of the waves
Oooopps..
Just a little too scary
and
SweetCheeks comes running home..
where it is safe..
and she feels safe.
Here's just a short sound bite
so you can hear the waves...
Looks like fun! I remember jumping waves when I was a kid.
ReplyDeleteSo cute! I remember jumping waves too...heck I still would if we went to the beach!
ReplyDeleteThat is so much fun Diana. I loved to jump the waves when I was a kid too. Thanks for sharing. Have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteOh to be a kid again and have a nana who is always thinking of fun things for us to do...the best!!
ReplyDeleteLooks as if they are having a great time.
ReplyDeleteI'd love to be at the beach and Jump Waves, the last time I did that was in 1999 in NC.
how exciting,, I love the sound of the waves! Thanks for sharing this,,the kids are having a ball!
ReplyDeleteAhh...to be that little again! I remember my dad teaching me to swim in Lake Erie with those waves!
ReplyDeleteFun, Fun, Fun! And you captured the moment so well!
ReplyDeleteCool, the only waves we had when I was a kid was when a boat went by close to shore!
ReplyDeleteHaving fun & making memories. Those are the stories your grandkids will be telling in years to come. I'm currently on the coast of NC watching the pre-storm waves. There's some crazies out there with boggie boards but I'm sure the cops will be putting an end to that very soon.
ReplyDeleteTake good care,
Karen

Do you have time to run out again and record about 8 hours worth of waves! I love to hear the surf - I think it would help me sleep.
ReplyDeleteYour little girls are so cute out there. And, I was pulling at my pants just looking at SweetCheeks wedgie!!!! GET IT OUT!
Hope you have a wonderful weekend.
Rhonda
Those times are so much fun! oxo
ReplyDeleteWhy is it that other peoples wedgies always make me LAUGH?!!!
ReplyDeleteI love to hear the waves, but like Sweet Cheecks, moving water
Scares me!!
They are so cute, and very brave!
ReplyDeleteI would have done exactly what swee cheeks did! Turn around and run for safety!!
And the bathing suit problem stinks! Happens to all of us I guess LOL!!
xxDaniella
They are oh so adorable! Summer fun like that makes for memories that last a lifetime. How wonderful for you to live close to the water! I sleep with my "wave" noise going in my ears all night long.... I keep dreaming of the day I can live close to the water. Hope you have a wonderful weekend.
ReplyDeleteThat was music to my ears! It sounds like the ocean!
ReplyDeleteXO,
Jane
You are creating great, sweet memories!
ReplyDeleteLove to you and yours,

ReplyDeleteI love to hear the waves too. And even better to watch your sweet girls enjoying themselves in them! I still love to do this too.
How fun...another wonderful summer memory!
ReplyDeleteSweet Cheeks can hardly be expected to jump waves with that restrictive wedgie!. Come on Nana, give a girl a break!
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry but LMAO - swimsuit does this and you have no lifejacket to blame. I'm sorry really I shouldn't laugh, but I can't help myself....maybe I had too much catnip earlier ;)
ReplyDeletePurrs and hugs,
Romeo and "her"
