Sprinklers, Sunsets And Stunners

As some of you know
I worked the 4th of July
weekend.
It bellied up in place
right after my regular
3 day stint so I worked
six days in a row.

However, being a
Holiday means that
you are given a bit of
leeway.
That means you can work
through lunch and
leave a half-hour early...
which is exactly what  I did.

Right now it is close to midnight
and I am too tired to do
much of a post..
but I will give
you a taste of my day
once I got home.

It started out like this...

and ended like this...

and this....
the first response to the
first firework of the night
going off next door...
And the night culminated
with this...
but there's a whole lotta
magic in between.
I'll show you the other
stuff tomorrow
if Paddy's pig doesn't
eat my film.
Seriously~

  2. Hi Diana!
What a lovely way to spend your evening. Nothing better than spending it with family and fireworks with all the trimmings.

  7. Aaaaa... fireworks! We didn't get to pop any this year and even public displays were banned. We're in a drought. It's been twenty something days straight that it's gotten up to over 100 degrees and we've had no rain. We've gone from extreme drought to exceptional status - whatever that means. I think it's about as dry as I have seen it in my lifetime. But - we put in a pool this year and water still comes out the end of a garden hose so my yard and garden are looking good! :-) But - this was also my first year to ever not see fireworks. I support the county commisioner's decision, though. Not too long ago a nearby town went up in flames and we went out their and looked at the damage Sunday. The firefighters did an amazing job saving several homes. The mountain burned, grass, trees and storage structures burned and the fire burned right up to within a few feet of several homes - yet the homes were saved. My son and his girlfriend both were out there fighting fires all night that night, but you can't really imagine the intensity of it without seeing it. We don't need any more fires, so banning fireworks was probably a good idea. However, I feel for those who make their living selling the things.

  13. It has been so great catching up on the posts I've missed here Diana, from the Bread and Wine posts to your handsome son-in-law to this one. I also loved your poem that you posted with the beautiful blue bowl and marigolds!
Too bad you had to work the whole weekend. It still looks like you got to enjoy some great downtime in the evening though.
Hey thank you for the info about the general side effects. I felt so crappy for the first week and it wasn't so much the pain, just the discomfort all over and the fog I was in for days. I remember trying to write a list of things we needed for my daughter and I kept forgetting how to spell things. I remember writing 'have the dog shaved' but I spelled it chaved and kept looking at it thinking...that doesn't look right somehow. LOL!
But all is going great with the mind now. I didn't trust myself to comment on anyone's posts for fear that I would write something outrageous!
    hugs from here...
