HAPPY VIRAL NEW YEAR---NOT A HAPPY VIRUS

In case you wonder where I have been.

You would find me in bed!

Eight days today with my

very best friend.

His loyalty is amazing.

He is by my side 90% of the time.

He has dragged all his treasures

all over the bedroom hoping

I would enjoy them as much as he does.

Sometimes he gets tired of my pillow and

changes positions.

Other times he just sits and looks at me

with a toy hanging out of his mouth.

All in all he has been my best medicine.

I came home from my daughter's house

a week ago last Tuesday.

On Wednesday morning I woke up coughing so hard

I could not get a deep breath.

I went  the next day

and was tested for Covid and Influenza.

Thankfully, I had/have neither.

I do have a nasty virus.

Today is Day 8 in bed.

I think I turned a corner yesterday

and am coughing a lot less.

The meds have helped and my old stand-by

Thera-Flu

works well for me.

It is compatible with the prescribed meds

so that's a good thing.

I NEVER get sick like this.

I am NOT a good patient.

I just want to be left alone and ignored.

and that works well in this house.

However, Scruffy is the welcomed exclusion.

So, I may be away a while longer.

I haven't been on the computer much.

Just wanted to send out an update.

See you all in a

New Healthy Year.

That's the promise I am claiming.

  20. So very sorry to hear you've been so sick, Diana. Praying for you to feel better soon. Scruffy looks like really good medicine to keep you entertained and feeling loved. I had that back over the Thanksgiving holidays and it took a couple of weeks to feel better. Rest is the best medicine, along with the plenty of fluids and whatever cold/cough medicine that helps. Mainly rest. Take care my friend.

I think you have great company medicine, amazing how sympathetic, even understanding the 'puppy' can be.

  27. Oh, Diana, I can relate and will pray for you. I got a similar virus in early Dec, was in bed the first week, struggled with fatigue the 2nd and kept the cough until 3 weeks. I hope you feel strong soon and the cough doesn't linger.

  31. I'm so sorry you've been sick! Glad you have your sweet companion to keep you company! He has such good bedside manners! Sounds like the cold from h*ll we've all had. Kids brought it home from school, took me the entire month of November to get over it, about a week later, my grandson came down with it again, we all had it most of December! Still gunky in my head but I'm thinking it's going away. No fun! Hope you're feeling better soon! Hugs!

  40. Diana, I'm so sorry you're sick. These viruses are awful, and whenever I get the coughs, they linger on for a long time. It's sweet that you have your Scruffy to comfort you. Pets are such loyal companions. I hope you feel better soon. I always take garlic tablets with colds. It seems to help twice as fast when using them. Take care, Diana.

  44. Sounds like you got the nasty bug going around, RSV. Its pretty nasty but at least you are starting to get some relief and at least it isn't COVID. Most likely you picked it up after your out of town visit.

I still wear a mask out in public and hand sanitize alot. I lived in country where folks masked up years ago all the time, because they believe it is rude to cough or sneeze around other people, and they are big on sanitizing their hands all the time. So not a big deal to me. But I almost NEVER got a bad cold or flu all the years I lived there either. So I don't have an issue masking in public because unfortunately other folks not very careful and not always good about even washing hands after public restrooms. When I see that it grosses me out !!! LOL. Anyways, get Well !!! Dawn Pinnataro Albany, GA

  50. Scruffy is the best!
    Sad you have a virus,
guess it is good that it isn’t Covid
but a hurting cough is not fun at all.
(Keep a good eye on momma for us Scruffy!
You are “the star” right now!
No paper tearing while momma is bed ridden though! PROMISE!)

  51. I feel for you. Get lots of rest and do as the doctor says. I had it twice and the second time my doctor threated to send me to the hospital, so I did exactly as he said. Then, when well, did the shot routine. I haven't had it since. Aren't pets so wonderful. They sense when you are sick and are always there for you. Take care and get well.
