Ruth rushed to the washer when she heard
all the thumping and bumping.
She was quite taken aback to realize
that Tom was IN the shirt.
She told him to
follow the instructions
on the shirt tag and then
throw in the washing machine.
follow the instructions
on the shirt tag and then
throw in the washing machine.
He informed her that he had read the
tag and it said...
Wear and Wash.
She realized, too late,
that because
he was dyslexic,
she should have forewarned him
she should have forewarned him
that it did NOT say
WEAR and WASH..
It said
It said
WASH and WEAR!

You are too much! Although I have seen tags on clothing that say "Do not iron while wearing."
ReplyDeleteUm, Tom isn't very bright, is he??? Mine always throws his golf hats in the washer. Guess I should be glad he doesn't wash his balls in there...golf balls, I mean. Tee hee.
ReplyDeleteHave fun with your purging, packing and preparing. Ugh.
hugs,
Sissie
Aw, you Silly Girl!! You make Fridays even MORE fun!!
ReplyDeleteI'm thinking about you as you pack and choose and delete and pass along and have to decide on which to keep and which to donate---I can see all those boxes now, and the lettering on the sides of "Goodwill" and "Kitchen items" and "Fragile." I remember my first "help to move" was a lovely young couple who rented an above-garage apartment. I was in about second grade, she was tall and slim with a gorgeous long ponytail, doing her work in shorts and a pretty sleeveless cotton shirt, and I was probably my usual grubby Summer self. I could wrap newspaper around dishes and glasses like a pro, for some reason, and she trusted me to get them done safely.
I could read better than anybody in my class, but remember so well that I was helping to label the boxes, and, after zip-snicking that tape on the box flaps over the dishes, I innocently and in my grown-up fashion asked, "Do you want me to put FRAGGLE on it?"
Love to you all your Lovies!! Hope your weather is glorious as ours has been for a couple of weeks.

I feel like I am on the spin cycle 24/7 in my head...and it's driving me crazy. I'll blame it on old age and hormones...lol
ReplyDeleteI've known a few people who take things that way.
ReplyDeleteHAVE A GREAT WEEKEND!!!!
ReplyDeleteDiana, I swear if I had owned a bathtub with jets I would have thrown the kids, clothes and all in it at times. LOL I do not envy you in the least what with all the sorting and packing. We sure can gather a lot of stuff in a few short years....or so it seems. Take some nice breaks and treat yourself to a good coffee. Blessings to all, xoxo, Susie
ReplyDeleteToo funny. Good luck with the packing!
ReplyDeleteHa!
ReplyDeleteHave a cozy weekend...
Downsizing sounds inviting!!!
Lol! This was a good one! Good luck with your purging, packing, and downsizing. It's a lot of work, for sure. :)
ReplyDeleteOh, Diana! What a laugh! Lots of work ahead for you! I'd help you if I could.:-) Have a great week-end. xo Nellie
ReplyDeleteMay Dog protect Tom in the future.
ReplyDeleteHahahaha! That's a really good one! You are moving now? You sold your house? It has to be hard making all the decisions involved in downsizing.
ReplyDeleteI am so slow - had to go back and read it twice - now I got it! lol
ReplyDeleteYou always find a way to lighten the day for us. Missed you. Sorting and packing is not my thing anymore. The next time I move will be when they haul me off.
ReplyDeleteHa!
ReplyDeleteYou poor busy bee! Aren't you getting tired of all the packing? Where to next?
I do not envy you the job of sorting, packing and purging!
ReplyDeletePraying for you to have a nice weekend. xoxo
Yes, life sure does get out of control at times! Moving, packing, downsizing! So much work! Nancy
ReplyDeleteHey, Tom does not have to take a shower in the morning now!!
ReplyDeleteOh how funny. You made my day.
ReplyDeleteHugs,\Mary
Poor Tom!! Oh, my! So thankful you are purging, sweet friend. There is something so gratifying about it, isn't there? Sending love and hugs to you!
ReplyDeleteLaughing...
ReplyDeleteYou are so creative and funny. And yes...you deserve time to work on what is important.
ReplyDeleteSending love and prayers,
Jane x
Missing the key detail
ReplyDeleteThinking of you dear Diana, Been there and done that; that's when I gave up garage sailing each week. If I lived near you, I'd volunteer to come help-I know how tough it is preparing to move. Praying for ease in the prep, a great place to move to and that your house would sell quickly((I'm sure it will, because it is a beauty).
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Noreen
You always keep us laughing. And I am renaming "downsizing" to "right-sizing". You and I are "right-sizing" according to this time of our lives!
ReplyDeleteLife does spin out of control...too often...take care of yourself. Miss Shirley is correct: "right-sizing" is the perfect phrase for this special time of our lives. xoxo
