A VERY QUICK UPDATE ON MY HERO!

THANK YOU!
THANK YOU!!
THANK YOU!!!
Thank you for all your prayers!
His lung scan came back today.
 The small 'spots' are gone.
 The other spots remain unchanged
so are most likely old scar tissue.
 That is a huge relief
It means he can continue the treatment
as it is outlined.

However, he has moved to
a new stage of pain level.
Please keep him in your prayers
 as we move to
a stronger pain relief medication.
 He cannot take
some of the more common ones and,
 because he cannot swallow,
he can't take the time released ones.
He will move to a pain relief patch
at this point.
Thanks again for all your prayers!
 We believe that miracles
often come in small doses.
 There was a good chance
 that the cancer had metastasized
to his lungs
and it appears that has not happened.

Praise the Lord!
SO- Y'all are
NOT FIRED
as pray-ers!
You did good!
Very, very good!
I will keep you posted!

Nurse Ratchett signing out
for the day!

This is just outstanding!!! I do know that collective prayer makes a huge difference and Praise God that He heard all of ours! I so hope the patches help. If they do, please send me one. :) Seriously, he needs relief and we'll pray for the pain to lessen for him.

Nurse Ratchett, I so wish I were closer to try and help in some way. Just know I'm always here for you and prayers continue for John's comfort and healing and for strength for you.

  7. Oh Sweet D, this is good news. You have the best team of prayers in blogland! This will crack you up. I have a friend who had a lung cancer scare this week. I texted her "Hail Mary's from here". She texted back . . . football? I responded . . . "Not a reference to Aaron Rodgers, you CHEESEHEAD!" The story has a happy ending . . . the nodules were benign. May God continue to bestow his blessings to your hero, to you and your family, and those that are working so hard to heal your hero!

  84. oh I do hope and pray that things do improve. Control of pain is a very big deal and so I hope they find something quickly. I know that meditation and breathing really help (as in childbirth the breathing helps) but don't know much else. A friend of ours has spent his entire adult life in pain being injured during WW2 and although he regained the use of his limbs after a time he was in constant pain, that followed by kidney cancer. He had to go to a pain clinic where he was taught techniques to help control it. Along with good meds. I know that's not much inspiration but I do understand. Take care of each other. Hugs, Janice
