Can we change the course of cancer with prayer?
That is a hard question, isn't it?
Everyone will have a different "take" on it.
Some believe you should pray for a miracle;
a miracle that results in
an immediate and full healing.
Others believe we should pray people through
their chemotherapy and radiation
and pray for healing that way.
We all pray different ways-
some pray to the God I know~
others just send healing thoughts up.
Whatever we do I know that we
ALL PRAY AND WISH AND HOPE
FOR A CURE FOR CANCER.
I have two dear bloggers this week that are
asking for prayer.
One that many of you know is Beth Marie.
Here is her update on her condition.
Update….
I have finished 10 of the 30 radiation treatments. The radiation is directed to my neck and head so they are pretty tough. The worst side effects are to my mouth. It is raw inside. I have been given a compound prescription that is helping a bit, numbing my mouth and throat so that it is easier for me to swallow meds. Eating is difficult but I have resisted having a feeding tube inserted. So far I haven’t lost a disastrous amount of weight.
Sadly I don’t have any extra weight to fall back on.
The radiation frizzes (burns) my hair so I look like the bride of Frankenstein. I can live with these side effects if it kills the cancer. I will not choose to go through treatment a 3rd time though
The second blogger asking for prayer is
Linda was doing quite well on her chemo treatment plan.
They have been planning on surgery to remove the cancerous tumor.
However, her pre-op check-up shows that she has
CHD-Chronic Heart Disease.
Her heart is only functioning at 33%.
The latest thing is that she has blood clots in her leg.
She has always been full of life and energy but she says she is so tired that she can't do anything right now.
She is optimistic but just tired of not feeling well.
Please pray for both of these fellow bloggers.
They would do the same for each and every one of you.
They are both women of faith and believe in
Divine Healing.
Let's pray for that!
God bless you all and I hope you have a wonderful Sunday.
Thank God today for your own good health-if you are so blessed to have it.
SweetCheeks is out of town for the weekend SOOOO...
the drawing for my giveaway will be on Monday.
That means if you haven't signed up yet-
you still have time to do so here.
Diana, I have had Beth and Linda in my prayers for some time. I feel there is hope always. Wishing God's good blessings on all in need this morning. xoxo, Susie
ReplyDeletePraying for Linda and Beth! I know God answers prayers, my husband and found out in March that he had throat cancer a tumor 3.5 centimeters and stage 4. He was given the strongest chemo they can give and had 35 treatments of radiation. He has a Port and a Peg tube, his throat was swollen and so sore that he couldn't eat. I still have to feed him 1 or 2 times a day thru his tube, but Praise God he IS cancer free. Thanks be to God that still hears our prayers!!!
ReplyDeleteI am certainly sending out prayers to these strong women .
ReplyDeleteI will keep both of these lovely ladies in my prayers, Diana.
ReplyDeletePraying for Linda and Beth.
ReplyDeleteI just quoted "It's A Wonderful Life" on my post and this reminds me of this...when George Bailey is going through his tough time, the son asks his Mother, "Should I pray for him" and her answer was, "Yes, pray very hard".
God bless you and all your sweet army of prayer warriors.
My prayers are with these beautiful ladies. This is a very difficult time for them I know. God bless and comfort them.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Gert

thank you for bringing these sweet ladies' needs to our attention diana....we never know what a day will bring for any of us. i will remember these precious women in my prayers.
ReplyDeleteJust sent up a prayer for these courageous women.
ReplyDeleteGod bless these ladies! Chemo and radiation are so damaging to the whole body, not just the cancer cells. I do believe there is great power in collective prayer and I will keep the prayers going for both.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing we can pray!
xo
Pat
I believe there is kinetic energy in all prayer and positive energy comes from loving thoughts, so yes I will say prayers for these two strong woman.
ReplyDeletexoxo,
Vera
Good Morning Diana, I stopped by both blogs this morning. I keep praying for a cure for all of those with cancer. Both have very strong personalities. Hope all is well with you. Hugs and Prayers from Your Missouri Friend.
ReplyDeleteI will keep them in my prayers. Cancer treatment seems to be just as bad as the actual disease itself it seems. My FIL was battling lung cancer and took a chemo pill after not being able to tolerate the other kind and it made his skin break out and his eyesight go bad. He had trouble seeing good. It made him weak and didn't mix well with other meds he was taking for his heart. He just passed away a couple of days ago so he is no longer battling his diseases. It has been a difficult weekend for us, but we are finally getting over the shock. I agree that if you have good health then you are the richest person on earth!
ReplyDeleteI am including them in my prayers. What beautiful strong women.
ReplyDeleteThere is a wonderful book and a New York Times seller from years back written by Suzanne Somers, about knocking out cancer and doctors who are curing cancer. The book is titled - Knockout. It has so many resources and interviews with the Doctors and with people who are healed from cancer with nontraditional methods. It is a wonderful easy read, even if you don't have cancer diagnosis now, there is a lot of info so one can be prepared as well as work towards preventing cancer.
Oh Diana...I just prayed for these dear ladies. Also for travel mercies for Sweet Cheeks, and the people she is with. It seems cancer is taking it's toll these days. One of my sisters had been in the hospital all last week for testing at the cancer center in Grand Rapids. She passed unexpectedly last night. It all happened so fast! Everyone is in shock. I agree with Kelly...we take our health for granted....appreciate your health if it's good.

Dear Diana, I love that you use your blog as a stepping stone for prayer warrior-ship. We do not need to know what the answer to prayer might be. We just need to pray. The Lord honors prayer, He knows our hearts and the hearts of those in pain and suffering. He has the right answer, but yes . . . we need to send up the prayers. He is listening:)
ReplyDeleteDiana,
ReplyDeleteI just prayed for your blog friends, Beth Marie and Linda.
What a special blog friend you are to all.
love you,
~Sheri
I am adding Linda and Beth Marie to my prayers right now.
ReplyDeleteI do believe in Divine healing and also strength to go through whatever is required.
Our God is a Mighty God!
So many needs, hurts, and pain out there. This is a good reminder to pray for good health and also lift of those in desperate need of God's healing touch. You are so faithful, Diana, in bringing these dear ladies to our attention.
ReplyDeleteMary Alice
Keeping Linda and Beth Marie in my prayers....and asking for strength for them....as we enter the holiday season it's a difficult time to not feel well. But I believe in prayer as well as alternative health cures. Wishing you a beautiful Sunday~
ReplyDeleteBoth Linda and Beth Marie are in my prayers.
ReplyDeletePrayers do help. My mom who is terminal swears by them. She feels that without prayers said by so many for her she would have had the sever pain that was predicted for her when she went through the radiation. None in that area at all! She is also crediting prayer for the cancer not spreading to other parts of her body. We don't know how much time she has left, but for right now she is very tired, but pain free. Not that there hasn't been many hicups, and we take each day day by day, but without prayers she feels that she would be worse off then she is.
So please pray for everyone who needs them as you never know who you will be helping!!!
Diana, I will add Linda and Beth Marie to my pray list. It seems that almost all of the sick people that I pray for have cancer. how sad. you would think by now they would have a cure. Doesn't seem like they are making any headway.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your Sunday as tomorrow SC will be there.
Hugs
Mary
It is always an honor, Diana, to pray for our sweet blogging friends! Sending prayers for peace, comfort and strength as these beautiful women battle on! Thank you for sharing these needs. Blessings, Cindy
ReplyDeleteI will pray for both of these women, and yes I do believe prayer can heal. xo Laura
ReplyDeleteI will be praying for these two women, Diana. I agree, I don't think it is so much HOW we pray, or the specific outcome we might ask for, but that we DO pray. I believe in miracles. Thank you for spreading the word. I know you will keep us posted as to how they are doing. You are such a good friend.
ReplyDeleteI feel for anyone with cancer such a horrible condition and the treatment is so awful, I've known some to come out of it and some who just didn't make it, I hope these two do recover fully
ReplyDeleteMerle.......................
Oh Diana, I will include these brave ladies in my prayers -- and you are right. It's not HOW we pray, but who we pray to!
ReplyDeleteHe knows, and understands.
Thanks for this reminder -- and on another topic, we got that coffee table this afternoon, and I think it's destiny is green!
Cass
I HATE HATE HATE HATE cancer. I just think it is so awful. I saw Beth Marie and have been praying - she sounds like she is going thru so much. I do not know Linda, but that sounds rough too. I will pray for both! I am so sorry.
ReplyDeletePraying for some relief on the way to a cure for Linda and Beth Marie.
ReplyDeletew/L
I am praying for health and strength for these two ladies and for divine healing according to God's plan. Prayer is powerful that is certain.

ReplyDeleteLifting Linda and Beth-Marie in prayer...xoxo
ReplyDeleteThere is much Power in Prayer!!! This is what I believe! The healing is in God's hands! May He heal these lovely women.
ReplyDeletewarmly,
deb
Sending prayers!
ReplyDeleteI believe in strength & hope sent through prayer & healing thought. When I went through Breast cancer surgery last year, I honestly could feel the goodness passed on to me by others. It matters! Kari
ReplyDeleteI will say my prayers and ask that you pray for my friend from work. She was diagnosed this week with breast Caner and some spots on her liver. It is hard to comprehend some times that this is happening. She is a ball of fire all the time and has a great attitude, I am afraid I would curl up in a ball in under desperation. Yes let us find a cure.
ReplyDeleteI have been praying for them both. I am so sad that they are not doing well. When I pray for Linda I never can think of her name so I pray for "The Chocolate Lady." God knows her by name. I pray for Beth Marie often. She has followed me since I started and always leaves such sweet comments. I believe God will answer, not always in the way we pray He will, but I continue to go boldly to the Throne and ask. Prayers for sure!
ReplyDeletePraying too . . .
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Lisa
I also have been praying for them. I thank you for the reminder as well. It make a difference! Thank you, sweet friend.
ReplyDeleteI will pray for these 2 brave women as well as a friend who is battling cancer for the second time in his life and he just remarried a couple months ago.
ReplyDeleteI thought of you and your many dear friends in need of prayer while I was in church this morning. Continued prayers. Jane
ReplyDeletePraying for both!
ReplyDeleteSending prayers and positive thoughts..Tough times...
ReplyDeleteI am just going to lift up my voice and pray along with all these amazing women! These are very trials for anyone to go through! God bless each and everyone! Prayer is so powerful! Love. Roxy
ReplyDeleteThere is nothing worse than feeling sick.....I wish that I could take the sick away from everyone....just makes me so sad. Yes I will pray for these lovely women! Sending them strength and love right now! Please keep us posted friend.....Nicole xoxo
ReplyDeleteBeth Marie and Linda are on my prayer list and I will be giving their names to an intercessory prayer group I've been involved with......God heals in different ways...yes, sometimes miraclously and other times a process.....Prayer does change things when we speak and believe the word! Roxie
ReplyDeleteMy heart goes out to these ladies. I have seen first hand the ravages of chemo and radiation...these are brave souls.
ReplyDeleteYou asked some intriguing questions... for what it's worth, my prayers always go up to our creator. Our savior. And I never let go of that faith. But secondly, and I wish more people would believe in what I do, that we need to support cancer research. We have to support the scientists and doctors finding links and causes, searching for ways to make treatments more tolerable, living with the disease less painful. There are so many causes we can support, many are narrowed down to specific types of cancer and that means so much to people who are losing or have lost a loved one to breast cancer, ovarian cancer, etc. It's important to know where the money is going. Each charity is so different. Gather all the info you can.
Anyway, my preference for supporting cancer research isn't for everyone. Besides God, I think I would place as a much faith as I possible can in a better way all around to deal with an end to the suffering.
Much love and respect for your posts,
Jane
Praying, Diana. ~ Nancy
ReplyDeletesending healing prayers on little angel wings for both your friends.
ReplyDeleteI will start prayers for the ladies. Just today I was talking to a friend and we were both wondering if there'll be a cure we will see in our life times and we both seemed so dismal about it...but hey, prayers do reverse bad things, many times! I just had my Rosary at home and I could've ask the 15 ladies to all pray for them. Still we are going to be a great group around the bloggy friends.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful week sweet lady.
FABBY
Praying for Divine Healing for Beth Marie and Linda. Keeping them in my daily prayers too. God bless them.
ReplyDeleteSending prayers to sweet Beth Marie and Linda. These ladies are so brave - my heart goes out to them and their loved ones. xo Karen
ReplyDeleteIt is so gratifying to see the lengthy list of caring people who are praying for these lovely ladies. I prayed for Laura through the weekend and now I will add these friends as well. I was taught to pray "for the will of God" to triumph. He asks us to bring all of our petitions to him. He cares and listens!
