You know I usually do a review of
Romantic Homes magazine.
Well, another little magazine that has
come a long way is
No I AM NOT selling these magazines
or getting paid to promote them.
I only promote things I like-
for no compensation.
Now this feature in RC is called
BLOG SPOT
French Essence.
Kelly has a blog called
and I have followed her for a long time!
She moves her things around a lot so her
home always looks fresh and "new".
I love Kelly's style.
Doesn't this look comfortable?
See the plates on the open hutch doors? Cute!
Also in this issue is
Laurie @ Heaven's Walk.
Under the header of
FARMHOUSE
the article is titled
Life Is Beautiful
I found Laurie right after she started blogging
and it has been fun to see all the changes
she has made over the years...from..romantic
to shabby chic to nordic to prairie style with a boho attitude.
Her porch is charming...
as is her kitchen.
I wish they had featured her gardens here.
They didn't so I dug up a picture myself.
A third article is titled
RENEWED RANCH
with a subtitle of
Reign & Shine.
The homeowners are Kathy & Jason Hepton
but I can't find a website connected to them.
But---their house is just lovely.
Isn't this a pretty dining room?
And here is a bit of their kitchen.
I love the touches of turquoise in there.
There is a feature called
PLAYHOUSE.
Little Girl Dreams
has a 2 page spread.
Christine Torda had this built for her daughter, Birdie.
This is one shot of the interior.
Under the heading of
DECORATE
is an article
Naturally Bountiful.
I am sure you can still find this on the newstands.
I saw it at Barnes & Nobles this weekend.
The cover looks like this.
I think that cover picture is from
So there you go!
Fall is sliding towards winter so
thought you would enjoy seeing this before
the snow flies.
AND-in case you DON'T remember
this is what winter looks like on
the road in front of MY HOUSE!
I just can't wait!
I love Kelly and Laurie and constantly drool over there houses. Sorry, I am definitely not drooling over your house in winter LOL. xoxo Laura
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing this, D!
ReplyDeleteI'm going to check this little magazine out on next shopping trip!
I hear tell that winter in America is going to be a bit less severe this year! However... I can't recall a winter where I haven't see play on ice at Lambeau!
Let's pray!

OOOPS!
ReplyDelete...forgot "my"!
on "my" next shopping trip!

you got me giggling over the wonderful winter roads. Last year in March for St Patrick's Day we were going to drive up to Door County to see the area (Where To Retire magazine had featured it and it looked so lovely in the summer-time photos). We spent the night before St Pat's at a hotel south of Door County and when we woke up it was lightly snowing. Ate breakfast and the snow came down more and more. Started driving and realized heading North was not a good idea. Turned around and barely could stay on the road. The view in your pictures above was what we saw in our rear-view mirror as we happily headed South!
ReplyDeleteHi Diana,
ReplyDeleteI have that magazine and now I've got to go back and look at t again. I keep all my magazines scattered throughout the house and I love going back and looking at them over and over again....Mr. Sissie just shakes his head cause he doesn't get it! LOL!
I don't miss those nasty snow storms and cold weather at all. The nice fall weather is perfect for me.
Hugs,
Sissie
Diana, I love the lamp in the Decorate picture. I like the romantic country look. :):) I really hate winter when I see those pictures of your road...it made me think of our own, last winter. Thanks for the info on this magazine, I have never heard of it before. Blessings, xoxo,Susie
ReplyDeleteGood Morning,
ReplyDeleteOk you had me swooning over the pics from Romantic Country and our wonderful blog friends that are featured. I was smiling and so enjoying going down the post until the last few pictures. Wiped the smile right off my face lol!!!! Ughhhhhhh to even think about this coming again.

ReplyDeleteAloha from Hawai'i... Just sayin'.
ReplyDeleteHugs and happy mahalo,
Kelley~
I love that magazine and it is so special reading fellow bloggers and seeing them featured, Doesn't make you proud of them?
ReplyDeleteNow that was cruel about the snow. I was outdoor barefooted yesterday - a little chilly but still barefooted. Ugh, Winter is going to be brutal again this year they say. Brace yourselves, won't be much longer. You know though? I have several blooms still going in my garden so winter can WAIT!
Lordy! How on earth do people get to work and to the grocery store in those kinds of snowy conditions?
ReplyDeleteAre you sure you didn't take those winter photos at my house? LOL The magazine looks great...some of my favorite bloggers...I need to pick up a copy!
ReplyDeleteOhhh nooo. YOu are so *naughty*! To remind us of what's coming! -grinnnn-
ReplyDeleteHappy rest of October,
Tessa~
"Here there be musing" blog
"Here there be more words" blog
Lovely homes of lovely bloggers, but Diana ... Really had to remind us whats on the way! Who knows perhaps this winter will be mild ... Yeah!
ReplyDeleteI am crazy in love with that little girl's play house! Darling!
ReplyDeleteAnd oh yeah - here in Michigan I can match you picture for picture of what's comin' down the road again for us! HELP!
Thank you SO much for featuring me here today. I was pleasantly surprised when I saw this post. It was such a thrill to be featured in that magazine and a once of a lifetime experience, I'm sure! It's fun to look back at those pics as so many things have already changed since then. LOL! I was in good company with the others that you shared today too.
ReplyDeleteHi Diana. Thanks for the tip of the magazine. Magazine afficianado that I am (I can't even spell it) I don't think I've seen this one. I also love Kelly's home and am always happy to find new ones too. I always try to say some little quip that will cheer you up and on, but, SORRY, can't think of a one about your view in winter!!..Happy Weekend (at least you can have that)..Judy
ReplyDeleteI love every image of the country décor magazine. Wish I still had my country home, but maybe not, I just remembered it was HUGE!
ReplyDeleteKelly0s country style is so romantic, and inviting.
Enjoy your weekend dear Diana.
FABBY
Oh Diana....didn't you hear??? No snow this winter....(sigh, just dreaming)....lol!
ReplyDeleteLouise
Great review of the features in the magazine. I have the next issue already, and it's fantastic, too!
ReplyDeleteLove the feature on Kelly...she's such a sweetie.
Your reminder of what's to come was kind of a downer though.
Happy Sunday!
Debbie

Those homes are beautiful. White would not work at all in our house! I have heard this winter is to be extremely harsh, but so far, we are still in summertime mode and drought. Would love some of that white moisture soaking into our ground and lake.
ReplyDeleteThe grass is always greener, huh?
Love your review of this magazine. I've not seen it on the shelves, but then again I've been too busy viewing leaves and such to notice. I'll have to look for it to savor during the colder months, although you know we don't get that white stuff in my part of the woods, well, we have experienced a little of the white stuff, but it's not common. How's that for a bunch of run-on sentences? Can't imagine having to deal with snow like that. When are you moving south?
ReplyDeleteYou are just the sweetest, Diana! Thank you for including my old farmhouse in your RC review! I will never forget that day meeting Fifi and Mark. We had such a great time. I think we spent most of it laughing. lol Oh how I wish my yard looked that green and full of blooming flowers now. You should see all the golden leaves scattered and piled up all over the place. I'll be out there blowing and mowing tomorrow til the cows come home. :) Oh, and they did do a feature story on my gardens in the premier issue of Country Style Gardens this past spring. That was quite a surprise for me. Wasn't expecting that one at all. :)
ReplyDeleteI don't even want to start thinking of all the cold, snowy, dreary days of winter. It's sooo depressing! At least we're headed back to Sanibel in the spring for a couple weeks, and hopefully will be there for a whole month the following year....God willing! :)
Have a blessed Sunday, sweets! xoxo laurie
Great features....except the last photos of the snow. :) No wonder you don't like winter.

ReplyDeleteI just love Romantic Country magazine, and recently started subscribing to it. It's always fun to see fellow bloggers homes featured. Just wish the magazine would come out more than 4x a year. And boy, am I sure looking forward to another cold and snowy Midwestern winter (not!!)!!
