Wow!
Today will be short and sweet.
I was going to take 3 days off but life
has a way of changing at a moment's notice.
MyHero and I decided to take a couple of days
away on the spur of the moment.
We went NORTH.
We thought we were COLD HERE - but-
when we got UP NORTH we discovered that
there are still snow banks that are 6 to 8 feet high!
This was taken MAY 10TH~
And our favorite part of UP NORTH is
LAKE SUPERIOR.
It is still 40% covered by ICE
frozen right to the bottom close to shore.
Crazy even for the Upper Peninsula!!
I stopped the car to take a picture of a tree.
MyHero said: You're crazy!
NO ONE is going to see that!
Me: Yes! Yes! They will.
People that read my blog will see a FACE!
Now-Don't let me down, okay?
Tell me that YOU see a face there!
Edited to add:
for those who CAN'T see it- do you see it now?
Edited to add:
for those who CAN'T see it- do you see it now?
as I visit your blogs
and try to catch up a bit.
And, tomorrow, if you are VERY GOOD
and promise
not to slam the cat's tail in the door,
I will show you a different kind of face-
One that floats.
Seriously~
that is one very cool face in that tree, Welcome back! ( we still have ice, yukko)
ReplyDeleteWe went to about 90 degrees yesterday and that was in between rain and more rain...it's either raining and you watch the grass grow or you are melting mowing it ! ;) Yesterday I'd have jumped in your snowbank! :)
ReplyDeleteYou are too funny and I hope you had a good trip even though it was cold.
ReplyDeleteBrrrr.....................
ReplyDeleteDiana, I expect , maybe , a little snow here and there in April...but in May !!! I heard on the news it snowed in South Dakota and Colorado. Too much snow for me. I could see where to could close one eye and see a face . LOL Hope you took a coat on your trip north. Yes, you were missed , very much. xoxo, Susie
ReplyDeleteOkay, I finally saw the face. Thank heavens. I feel so sorry for the people that still have the snow. I'm so glad you are back. You were missed.
ReplyDeleteI like the tree and see a sort-of-face, especially the lips. Does that count? Amazing weather. We are so enjoying "open-window" weather here in Texas when we would normally be hiding behind the air conditioning. Love it.
ReplyDeleteYES, we did miss you! And why on earth would anyone take a few days to go farther north??? LOL But I love Lake Superior too. I'm thinking I'll wait until maybe June or July to go up there. And yeah, I totally see that face!! (not really, but I'll keep working at it. I'm sure it's there if you say so.) :-D So glad to see you back. Hope you didn't bring any snow back with you.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure it's a lovely part of the country, but I just could not deal with snow and ice in May! It is still only in the 60's here and I cold now! Glad you're back and nice face! ;)
ReplyDeleteNo, I don't see it, Diana! Maybe your brain froze. Although I will say that one knot on the tree looks like an ear to me. Glad you had a nice trip with your Hero. I'd love to take a long weekend sometime soon, with no particular reason for it, and just get away. Hopefully, this Summer we can do that.
ReplyDeleteOkay I see the face... It is good to have you back! I hope you had a wonderful time away! Missed you and I remember trips to that Lake to see the ice coming out and over the banks as a child! Love, Roxy
ReplyDeleteGlad to see you back! Looks like you had too much fun. :)
ReplyDeleteI did miss you! The tree face reminded me of yesterday when a friend gave me a small stone to look at and she asked me what I saw. I saw it right away...mother holding a child....weird minds think alike, methinks.
ReplyDeleteHey Missy, sure missed you girl! Happy you are back! Okay, I just don't see anything but a tree! I'll have another cuppa and come back and look again!!
ReplyDeleteOh that is so funny Diana. I saw the face right away!!! Yes you were missed...so happy you are back. Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteXO Barbara
Definitely missed you! Glad you had a nice break. Um, about the tree? I didn't see it till I read your labels, LOL, but, aha! There it is! Very clever.
ReplyDeleteI see it, I see the face! Missed you!
ReplyDeleteThat is the neatest tree. I love seeing funny things that Mother Nature has "created", and that you see just at the right angle to recognize a face or animal. :)
ReplyDeleteGosh, what an awful Spring with all that snow and ice. Wishing you warm days to melt it all, but not so fast that you get flooding. LOL.
Wonderful tree, Diana! It is also wonderful to have you return! You have definitely been missed! xo Nellie
ReplyDeleteI did miss you!!! Glad to see you didn't hit an iceberg or anything up there. Oh, and I sort of saw a face. Not the exact one that you did, because I thought the eye was an ear, but still it was a face. Tell MyHero he was WRONG.
ReplyDeleteDo not analyze this, but I see a snake with a duck's head. You couldn't think of a warmer place to go on vacation? Here I was thinking you were floating down some lazy river. = D
ReplyDeleteSo glad to have you back!
OMG!! I totally saw it right away! That tree needs a serious nose job ;).
ReplyDeleteWelcome back and yes, we all missed you! (That snow is unbelievable!)
I thought of the song, "One eyed purple people eater." Looks like a monster to me:) Yes, we missed you.
ReplyDeleteI'll have to admit that I didn't know you were gone, because I was away a few days myself! lol! I see a duck's head on the tree trunk.
ReplyDeleteHope you had fun on your getaway!
I was hoping that your time away from blogland was a happy/respite filled one. Glad you could sneak away with the hubby. I'm also glad that snow is way up north away from West MI. I have a feeling Lake MI is never ever going to warm up this year based on the ice cover.
ReplyDeleteYes, I missed you. As to the face, well, I see it now!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait for the floating face! :) I DO see a face in that tree! Glad you're back!
ReplyDeleteYes! I missed you! But, I had Grace and Olivia last Thursday - Saturday, kids over for Mother's Day Sunday and Brilyn and Asher from Monday - Today (they just left, so I am checking blogs before putting away toys) so I've hardly had time to read blogs myself. I was happy to see that BJ was back, though. She made my blogger dashboard look welcoming for me while you were away.
ReplyDeleteAnd yes - I see that face! One eye open and the other closed. It's a winking lady! LOL
I see a face!
ReplyDeleteLOL on the face on the tree- I thought the eye looked like the ear- hey It's a Picasso! Hope you had fun. I however do not want to see that "s" word for a long long time!! My Dad grew up in Calumet- Keewanau Peninsula of the U.P of Michigan. They sure had rough winters there. Lake Superior is a beauty!
ReplyDeleteThe eye you pointed out to me looked more like the face and the nose looked like an arm.
ReplyDeleteYeah I saw tht and started to tell you the eyelashes on other eye was showing, then noticed you'd pointed them out.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I missed my morning chuckle, but I got one this morning and seeing what you were doing. It is great to have you back among us. Why didn't you pick a warm spot to go to???? We have been back down in the 40's at night. Unreal. Sometimes, hubby's just don't see what we do, but really they could act like it. Haha. Have a wonderful day. Hugs and Prayers from Your Missouri Friend.
ReplyDeleteI see! I see!
ReplyDeleteExcept I see an ear where you see an eye! LOL
Welcome home!!
After looking for a few seconds, I did finally see it but I would never have if you had not written in the details!
ReplyDeleteserious imagination Nana!! brrrrr
ReplyDeleteSo glad that you are back - was beginning to worry about you. Hope that you had a wonderful vacation with your HERO and got some much needed rest. I really missed your witty posts.
ReplyDeleteMary
Yes, I missed you..and I did see the face...I thought I was missing you because I don't automatically get your post anymore (:..Glad all is well
ReplyDeleteAt first I saw a huge ear on the tree! Until you pointed out the other parts. lol. Isn't wonderful when you can get away. Hoping to this weekend. At least for the day. Mom is doing ok so I feel better about going for a day trip. Having lots of siblings helps also.
ReplyDeleteBut our yard is really starting to green up with all the perennials so there is a lot to see out there also. Some plants are even blooming. Seems impossible with this cold, doesn't it???
Hi Diana, wow did I miss you! There is just something wrong with snow still around in May in my book! I see the face too. How cool is that. Have a lovely afternoon.
ReplyDeleteJulie
Okay, I didn't see it until you pointed it out... sorry. I am glad you had some time away, but I'm also glad you're back. You were missed.
ReplyDeleteI missed you but I was away for Mothers day. I posted some crazy things in the car wash with my camera.. I think my way from home made me a wee bit feeling I was 16 to 50. I have pictures up today.
ReplyDeleteGlad you had time away. Ya I miss you Girly. Glad your back with your tree. I spy for us.
I didn't at first but your arrows certainly helped me see it!
ReplyDeleteJeanine
Yes, I missed you. Don't you dare think I am crazy, but there is a face in my bathroom tile. Really, there is!
ReplyDeleteTell hubby he just doesn't know your deranged readers! LOL I spotted the face right away - but wait, does that make me deranged?
ReplyDeleteJudy
Welcome back friend...hope you had a great trip!! I spotted that face even before you said it:)
ReplyDeleteI DID.....I missed you, Nana.. Glad you are back...and I DID....I did see the face on the tree...now I must be honest and say I didn't see EYELASHES 'til you told me I did. :))
ReplyDeletexo
Oh Yes, I saw the face right away, but you know me.....that's what I do best....... notice faces in the many sides of nature haha.
ReplyDeleteDiana, YES, I DID MISS YOU, and I was getting curious as to where you were. What a nice trip you had with husband. I can't believe all that snow that is still there up north of you.
So glad you're back, and try to stop by tomorrow and say Happy Birthday to me.
love,
~Sheri
Glad you are back but super happy that you took a little away time with your hubby (at least I am assuming that is who 'your hero' is). Blessings for the day, Cindy
ReplyDeletewelcome back, diana! and yes, i see the face!
ReplyDeleteYou tickle me...you sure do. xxoo
ReplyDeleteHi Diana, so nice to see you back and hope you had a great time away. Yes, I see the face.
ReplyDeleteMissed You!
Hugs!!
I SEE The FACE!!! How nice to see pretty snow. We've already had the AC on this year! Just now got to switch it off again and open the windows because of a cooling rain shower. Have fun on your trip, and send more photos!
ReplyDeleteHi Diana, I have been so very busy that I've hardly had time to miss anyone. Of course, I am thankful that you showed us the parts of the face because otherwise I wasn't sure. We had snow this week too and I'm tired of it, I tell you!
ReplyDeleteHope you have a wonderful rest of the week.
Hugs, Noreen
Glad you had a nice time on your trip. And after you pointed it out - it does look like a face1
ReplyDeleteSo glad to see you back, Diana! The blogging world just isn't the same without you:) Wow, hard to believe all that SNOW in May in the UP! How would you like to live there?? Sorry, I don't see the face in the tree. To me it kind of looks like the profile of an elephant! I know, I am nutty too I guess!
ReplyDeleteWhat a cool face!! Hope you had a fun getaway :)
ReplyDeleteSusan
People with imaginative minds will see that face right away. Glad you are back. Missed you.
ReplyDeletexo Danielle
I saw the profile right away, but I am always seeing faces in things! I am odd that way! lol
ReplyDeleteIt is in the mid 80's here in Oregon City, OR
Oh, my! Why would you go North after this crazy winter?? I will have to believe it was a wrong turn and not done on purpose! It is still pretty cool and rainy and dreary down near Madison, too. It is teaching us patience. When everyone else's lilacs have finished blooming, and their gardens and flowers are planted, we will just be enjoying that wonderful lilac scent and getting dirt under our nails. It will just prolong the joy after the winter and spring we have survived.
ReplyDeleteI really DO see a face! How neat! I can't believe how cold it is up north during this time of year. You really do live in the frozen tundra, don't you? I hope it starts warming up and becomes nicer for you soon.
ReplyDeleteSo funny. Wow! It's really cold!
ReplyDeleteYes you were missed. I didn't see the face till you pointed it out....you have a great imagination!! My husband and I thought of moving to Superior years ago, but we chose Appleton. Glad we made the choice of Appleton.
ReplyDeleteI saw a face but I saw an arm where you saw a nose ;)
ReplyDeleteYikes still super cold up there! We had snow on Mother's Day, that was pretty bad. I think most of my flowers have lived through it. I'm ready for full on spring!!
~Shanon
Of course we can see the face!! Tell him to take another look ~ :) Hope you had a fun time! That ice and snow is a bit much but hey, I'll be wishing for it when we get those 100+ days this summer.

Hello Diana, I saw Woodie Wood Pecker.............don't ask me why............LOL. I took a long break from blogging and boy has everything changed. I lost my reading list so now I have to go back and find all my old friends.
ReplyDeleteSusan@ Susan's Hearts and Flowers
t
Yes,Yes I see a face. But I have to admit I thought the eye was the ear? Wow who would of thought that there was still so much snow hanging around. Hope you had a nice time.
ReplyDeleteIt really has been a late spring year in the north...and yes, I see the face!
ReplyDeleteGlad you got away pal!! I can not believe all of that snow still! And YES I see that face! What a cool find! Wishing you an outstanding weekend lady! Nicole xoxo
ReplyDeleteHands of for your imagination!
ReplyDeleteYes, I missed you!!! I saw something like a face especially after you labeled the parts lol. But that 'eye' looked like an ear to me hahaha.
ReplyDeleteYou have the greatest imagination, and yes I can see the face...it's so cute.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful wonderful trip...did you bring a parka.
Jen
Yes, yes, yes I see the face :) I love it, Diana, and it shows your wonderful imagination!
ReplyDeleteIt's SO good to stop by, say hi, and get a good laugh. Enjoy the remainder of your week! Hugs
Well, hello!! What a cold, but fun trip. You are so funny to take a picture of that face...always thinking of us readers. :) XOXO
ReplyDeleteWelcome back, Diana!
ReplyDeleteI did see the face after you labeled the facial parts!
Glad you took a few days, though it is cold here. The springtime seems to be playing peek-a-boo! It really does not last too long and it is gone again!
ReplyDeleteI am not quite sure I see the face...
Blessings dear. Catherine
Oh Welcome back Diana! I hope your trip was a good one even though it was not the warmth you had hoped for. Your tree is unusual and fascinating. I love the face that you labeled and now I see! I love your whimsical Spirit!!! :)
ReplyDeleteOF COURSE we missed you! Glad you could get away for a bit. And yes, I saw the face.
ReplyDeleteYes, you were very missed! I was surprised to see more snow, but u know.... It's super chilly here, too! Hugs and welcome home!
ReplyDeleteOf course you were missed, but I'm glad you had someone to commiserate with. That old fellow looks like a good conversationalist and I hope you hugged him! Good to have you back..Happy Thursday..Judy
ReplyDeleteWell... I see something, but not a face.
ReplyDeleteMaybe it has to be seen in person :-)
Yes, you were missed!! Even in the blogging community things seemed very quiet with you away. Your sweet smiling face brings joy to my heart, and it was missed.
North???? Are you crazy girl
Much love, Debbie
We head "up north" next week to our cabin in northern WI. You have frightened me with pictures of snow. Here in TX I have been swimming in my pool. I guess I need to pack some warmer clothes and not my bathing suit!
ReplyDeleteAnd, am I the only one who sees a perfect profile of a duck? Mallard to be exact. lol
Yes I can see the face (now you've pointed it out!).
