Here is a look at the
FIRST PEEK
the boys had
of their new sister.
She is just a few hours old and
still tired from her journey.
One of the wisest things I ever heard was
my own doctor telling me to
NOT HOLD THE NEW BABY
when you introduce the older siblings.
That way there is no immediate jealousy
that the new baby is
TAKING MOM AWAY.
Wasn't that smart advice?
We head home from the hospital
after lunch today.
I'll be back when we get
settled in.
Thank you for all the
wonderful comments and
Well Wishes!
This is a precious photo. God bless you all.
ReplyDeleteSo sweet! And very good advice! We gave Elie a very special baby at the hospital when her sister arrived. Funny story, she was rocking said baby (doll) and the nurse walked in and bout had a heart attack... She thought it was the real baby!!! It did look real (still have it...it was anatomically correct too, LOL)
ReplyDeleteDiana, That is the cutest photo. The boys look so darn cute. I think SC may be the jealous one....giving up her youngest girl title. Then again ,she may assume a role of bigger sister to her new cousin. I know a new baby is a jot, but can be exhausting for everyone. Blessings to all, get some rest. xoxox,Susie
ReplyDeletePriceless photo! What fun those three are going to have! And that is really wise advice form the doctor. Even husbands get envious of the time and attention mommy devotes to a new baby sometimes!
ReplyDeleteWhat great advice from your doctor! I will spread the word to my family. Linda@Wetcreek Blog
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful picture of their family - something to treasure forever. God bless all of you as you start on this new journey. Very good advise from the Dr.
ReplyDeleteMary
Oh, perfect advice to remember! Thanks for sharing your gorgeous 'fat baby'...her siblings are Darling too! I also cannot wait to see what happens with Sweet Cheeks, she's always so opinionated, lol! Congrats, congrats, wow, what a blessed family you all are these days!!!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
FABBY
The photo is beautiful! What wonderful advice your doctor gave you!
ReplyDeleteDiana,
ReplyDeleteJust Precious! Hope all get settled in together today.

That little princess is truly lucky to have such handsome big brothers! They will be wonderful protectors! xo Nellie
ReplyDeleteDiana ~ Thanks so much for stopping by... Oh my what a beautiful little girl, and those brothers....adorable. Funny last evening I was looking at a picture of our son...now 48 when he was the age of your boys, and lo and behold...he's wearing the same outfit...a little Blues Brother. Will post it when I get it from my son.
ReplyDeleteThat was excellent advice from your doctor. I had some good advice years ago, "When you go to visit a new baby...if there are siblings, take then a gift too, and talk to them first".... I've done that for many years. I had two girls first and then a boy...and then 5 years later a surprise and another girl.
I tried to follow some one the other day, and it wouldn't let me either...try again OK.
Best wishes with you new little blessing and your family.
What a precious photo. Love the hats. Can't wait to see more of Baby Bright Eyes!
ReplyDeleteThat probably is good advice. I never thought of that before but it makes perfect sense! That's a sweet picture of them looking at her. That's good that she will have big brothers to protect her as she grows up.
ReplyDeleteOh how precious! I think I'll pass that along to my daughter-in-law. She said that since my Connor is a mama's baby that she thought that she would have Chad bring in Cora and put her in Connor's arms. Sweet, either way. Can't wait to get my hands on my first granddaughter. Your baby girl is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteTHEY ARE SO CUTE! And great advice!
ReplyDeleteThe first of many adorable photos, I'm sure.
ReplyDeleteMay God bless this adorable family!
A moment in time...so sweet, Diana!
ReplyDeleteAwe, such a sweet photo, and those two brothers will make sure she is treated fairly, I'm sure, lol.
ReplyDeleteAww, those Blues Brotherd are just too cute meeting their baby sister! What great advice too, oh so smart! Your little bundle of joy is just precious!

ReplyDeleteI remember you giving me that advice. We followed it.... and it worked. :-) With both Grace and Brilyn when they got new little siblings. :-) And little Baby Bright Eyes looks beautiful. Those boys will love her, I'm sure.
ReplyDeleteThat's wonderful advice for introducing a new sibling! I bet the boys will adore her. :) She's a lucky little girl!
ReplyDeleteTerrific advice! It's always a delicate point when the siblings see the new one! I hope Mimi is recovering well. I know she'll need some help for a while. She's lucky to have you so handy! Take care and enjoy your new Granddaughter!
ReplyDeleteThat is great advice and funny thing is, until now, I'd never heard it before. The other good advice I have heard is never to fret about providing a child with siblings for it is the best gift a parent can give. What an adorable photo...slated to become an instant family treasure. Hope that your daughter is feeling better with each passing day.
ReplyDeleteI love this picture of the brothers peeking at the new baby. She is a doll!
ReplyDeleteHugs!

ReplyDeleteWhat a cute pic! She's precious-congrats! :)
ReplyDeleteSusan
Love the hats!!
ReplyDeleteExcellent advice!
ReplyDeleteMethinks' that the hardest and most important business-at-hand, for the first week or so, is to not dote on the new baby. I mean, take care of her! But try not to "adore" her. She won't know the difference, but the siblings will. Gotta' make it as easy on them, as is humanly possible. 'Cause no matter how *great* it sounds, to adults.... All this sweet-talk about loving their new baby sister.... In sibling eyes, this baby is taking AWAY from them. Taking attention, love, attention, attention, attention... Oh yes, and love. -grin-
Which is all common sense. But.... Very hard for big people to appreciate common sense, in the fact of a new baby.
Good luck! You will be "in charge." Good luck with the interesting couple of weeks.
Lots of hugs,
Tessa~
Me also thinks, this will be a good time for a lesson for Sweet Cheeks. When she remarks about the FAT baby, she could be gently instructed, that it is not kind, to say things like referring to any one as being FAT. Gently, but firmly, told! It's time she learned about how "words can hurt." And learned that smart little girls, try to not "hurt" with words.
ReplyDeleteTessa~
(Who is very full of "Tough Love")

ReplyDeleteThose hats in this photo and the last one you posted of the boys are just so darn handsome!!!! Does mom or Nana buy these hats? I loved putting hats on my son when he was that age. Thanks for sharing! <3
The boys look so cute admiring their baby sister! I love their cute hats! What a sweet heart she is, she sure won't lack for attention! That was wise advise from your doctor for sure! Hope you are having a great weekend, and get some much needed rest!
