I am tired but happy this morning.
I worked off and on all day yesterday
Christmasfying the place
Yes that is a real word-
Yes, I can make up a word if I want to.
Are you READY for RED?
I know all you white lovers are rolling your eyes
(I can only see the whites of your eyes now-
perfect for you, huh?;>)
Anyway,
I HAVE RED!
I have red ornaments on our main tree!
Want to see it?
How about I show it to you in bits and pieces?
Here hides MyHero's Best Friend.
You can see him here if you missed it before.
He's pretty cute.
Right above him sits a card from a special friend.
And-Can you spot the nest?
It's the Irish in me- A nest in the tree
It brings Good Luck...or bird lice-
depending on your nest.
Glass icicles make the tree drip with charm.
We love red birds!
And we like our silver birds, too.
I know Tete is freaking out because
she does NOT LIKE glitter.
So, that is bits and pieces of the tree.
I will give you an overall picture later.
This one is not very clear.
There you have it.
Oh-Wait I do have one other small thing
to show you.
The children's nativity!
Apparently, they like RED too.
For evidence I offer you the red monkey
on the roof next to the angel.
Of course our nativity has a monkey.
AND a Penguin
AND a Hardhat worker.
Baby Jesus loves them all.
Wait...Wait...Wait...
Where IS Baby Jesus?
And the hunt begins!
Looking beautiful! Funny I am not a red person but bring it in for the holidays...it just feels more festive with some red around!! Happy Holidays!
ReplyDeleteLove it all Diana, I do white, silver and gold in my living room and red in the den. Yours is very pretty and festive. I have the little elf also,(and I must find it today)still working on mine.
ReplyDeleteGlad youre back to normal. I love the crew at the manger
ReplyDeleteHi Diana,
ReplyDeleteI'm so happy for you and your family and the good news that you've received about your grandson.
I love your tree and your special red ornaments. I'm kinda tired of white myself and have decided to go with traditional reds and greens this year. I plan to reveal my tree soon.
hugs
Sissie
Your Christasfying is beautiful, Diana. Lovely tree...we actually found a nest in our tree one year. The girls were little and sooo excited. Still thinking about you and your sweet little grandson. Hope he is doing better every day.
ReplyDeleteA stunning work of art! It's all so very lovely.
ReplyDeleteI gave the grands that very manger scene and my daughter-in-law later told me that it was mildly disturbing to her whenever she saw the characters go sailing through the air. Boys just don't have the same reverence...their own father glued a rat to Jesus's head on a school project twenty-five years earlier. What did I expect? Hope you find Jesus. Don't you think that's clever how I worked that in there?
(How is that baby grand of yours doing? Is he finding his feet?)
Everything looks so pretty Diana... and you know me, I loved red and green... and glitter... and ALL of the traditional colors and decorations of Christmas... your little kneehugger is darling, I love them too... have fun Christmas~fying... xoxo Julie Marie
ReplyDeleteLove the children's nativity, especially the monkey....Jesus does love them all....even tho monkey's aren't MY fave. I'm glad you've been able to get at Christmasfying your house....now if I could only do the same. :-) Happy Christmasfying.....I'll be back to check it out when you post more pics.
ReplyDeleteOh, I forgot to say I remember those little elves from when I was a kid or from when my kids were little?...I didn't care for them much then....wonder whatever happened to the ones we had???
ReplyDeleteBeautiful tree!! And I love the nativity...we have one like that too :) Maybe we should add a monkey...he's looks pretty cute up there ;)
ReplyDeleteLove, love your tree, Diana! So pretty! Where do you get all that energy from? I know you have to be exhausted from everything happening in the last week. How is our baby boy doing? The Nativity set is precious! :) Don't you dare move the monkey!
ReplyDeleteI hadn't heard about a nest in the tree....hmmm....where is my spring stuff....I need some nests! Hugs, Penny
ReplyDeleteYou made great progress yesterday! Your tree is so pretty and classic. And don't you just love all the little traditions of Christmas!
ReplyDeleteYour tree is gorgeous. I'm so glad you were able to fill your heart with happy things yesterday. Love up that grandson!!
ReplyDeleteLovely tree! I like all the red ornaments as well. I knew that about the next in the tree...I had forgotten it. But your "or Lice" comment made me laugh quite out loud!!!
ReplyDeleteThe nativity is so cute...what nativity is complete with out some variety of animals (the penguin is a nice touch too) and a hard hat worker?
Pat
Diana, I can tell you where baby Jesus is...he's between the North Pole sign and Santa Claus....No kidding. My mom had some odds and ends she has picked up at rummages , So every year there was baby Jesus just like I said. I used to tell my girls...it's officially Christmas season once my mother had the porch decorated LOL. Oh I miss my mommy and her crazy decor. I like your ornanments. I keep special cards also and put them on the tree. Can't wait to see all your cute decorations. xoxox,Susie
ReplyDeletep.s. praying everyone has caught their breath..and all is well.
You are so funny! I love visiting here.. Your tree is gorgeous, I don't have ours up yet (we own a Christmas tree farm & I will be the last one to get one : )
ReplyDeleteI bought that nativity last year on your suggestion... Thanks for that..
Now on yesterday's post, will you tell darling husband that when he does do a payback, that he lets us all in on it.. : ) was a cute pic of sleeping elves : )
That reminds me when my Godson had a broken baby Jesus, and said, "oh well, we don't need him." uhhhh....wait a minute!
ReplyDeleteDeb
What a gorgeous tree! It's huge too! I love the combination of nature inspired ornaments mixed with the sparkly icicles.
ReplyDeleteI am a huge fan of red too, Diana! It looks great. You were able to accomplish lots. See ya soon. xo
ReplyDeleteIt's looking good. I love this time of year. Brilyn and I did a little decorating of our own yesterday while she was here. Asher was good and he slept most of the day and we put lights outside. I'll have to take pictures when it gets dark.
ReplyDeleteRed is the color I am using a lot of this year too!

ReplyDeleteBeautiful. I love red too! Love the nativity, we use them with our Bible class.
ReplyDeleteI love your red tree. It is hard to get an evening shot with all the lights burning. There must be some trick to it. I have never heard of putting a nest in a tree for good luck.
ReplyDeleteMy next door neighbors growing up gave me a birds nest, and I always put it in the tree.

ReplyDeleteFABBY
It would not very Christmas without red. Love what you have done.
ReplyDeleteRed is my favorite color but even more so at Christmas! I never heard of this Irish tradition for the tree but organic things always look great on them!
ReplyDeleteIsn't it great to be back to normal and having the knowledge that your little grandson is better! Truly a season of blessings!
What's a nativity without a monkey and a penguin :)
ReplyDeleteLooks like you have been pretty busy. I love all of the red. xo Laura

I wish I lived closer because I would there to help you decorate! Your sneak peeks look fabulous, so festive! You better watch that elf! I think he's a rascal! Seriously, so happy you can decorate! I know you would like to curl up and go to bed, but I know why you're decorating! You're a fabulous Nana! XO!
ReplyDeleteIt's lovely Diana! Red is beautiful for Christmas! Even if we white lovers use it a bit more sparingly! LOL!
ReplyDeleteO, Loni...eh, I mean, Nana, I LOVE red for Christmas (and any other time, too) I always use red and white.
ReplyDeleteYour tree is beautiful...and so is that cutie-pie nativity set, monkey and all. :))
Is Little Man walking yet..?
Oh Diana what a beautiful tree! I love the "red"...smile
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Gert
I'm a red girl so I love all the red Diana...your tree looks beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI'm a huge fan of red, so I love your use of it. Even blurry, that tree looks gorgeous. Can't wait to see more!
ReplyDeleteDiana,
ReplyDeleteYour tree is so pretty, and you know me.....I LOVE ALL THE RED! So glad that you could decorate your tree with everything that's happening in your world lately. I will post our trees on Sunday, so you can check them out if you want.
It's good to have you back, Diana.
Love,
~Sheri
Hey, is that "Elf On A Shelf"? Jess was talking about him the other day.
ReplyDeleteLove,
~Me
Baby Jesus will show up on Christmas morning, of course!
ReplyDeleteI like your red tree and it has a very nice shape too. Is it real?
Oh yes, you were very clever working drip in with icicles!
Ooooops, I meant "Elf On The Shelf."
ReplyDelete~Sheri
gah! I see some white and silvery things on there so that makes the red ok. I have always had a little bird nest on our tree. I heard many years ago that it is good luck but contrary to the holiday which is not about luck. Oh well, it's the first one put on the tree and the last one taken off, I like the tradition.
ReplyDeleteYour tree is lovely, Diana...it will be an extra-special Christmas for your family!
ReplyDeleteRed is a beautiful bright color. So it will be visible where ever it is kept. All your decoration are fine.
ReplyDeleteGood morning, Diana! So happy to read that your dear little guys is doing much better. What a scare!
ReplyDeleteYou tree is gorgeous with those special treasures tucked in the branches. And the nativity is just so sweet. Wonder if that elf might have something to do with the missing baby Jesus? He is looking a little mischievous!
I love looking at people's trees. Yours is lovely. I like red also, although very little red is on my tree. However, every year my tree is different, so perhaps some red is in order this year.
ReplyDeleteLove the red and sparkles! It's great! So sorry that I haven't check in with you. Glad everything is better.
ReplyDeleteyour tree looks so warm and elegant, diana! enjoy your weekend!
ReplyDeleteFirst off, I am so thrilled that your little guy is home from the hospital and recovering nicely. I know how scary that must have been for all of you.
ReplyDeleteNow, what's this about red ornaments? I love all the traditional colors (actually, traditional or non-traditional works for me) of Christmas. I just love the warmth of color, so bring it on!
Your tree looks gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteThe other characters in the Nativity scene look perplexed as to where Jesus is - standing there with their arms outstretched!
Your tree is so pretty, Diana. Even with all that red, and even with all that glitter:) I think Tete secretly loves the sparkly stuff, she just doesn't want to admit it!
