SweetCheeks older sister, Lulu,
has been given
THE TALK
You know the one.
The one all parents look forward to
with dreadful anticipation.
Well,
Lulu is in 5th grade now.
Last year they got THE TALK
about becoming a woman.
Moms (or someone connected to the child)
were invited to be there for
THE TALK.
Lulu weathered that one pretty well.
This year
THE TALK was about reproduction
and involved a MOVIE.
Lulu was talking about it in hushed tones
in the car.
SweetCheeks heard just enough to
know that
THE TALK was something special
AND when she heard there was
A MOVIE involved
her ears perked up.
Nana!
Yes, honey?
You know when I get THE TALK and movie?
Yes?
Well, when I get it I hope they have that
Theater-in-the round thing like they have
at Dizzney Wurld and that they
give me 3D glasses.
Now, I don't know about you, but I
am pretty visual.
Let's just say I almost choked on my coffee.
Her next question?
Whut's so funny?
(In about 4 years she will know what's so funny)
oh, yes... and then there are the talks and movies when you get to high school health class. We hear about them from our grandson... I look like SweetCheeks when I think about it :)
ReplyDeleteWe all need a good smile/laugh after this week. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteSweet and innocent!! Loved it!!
ReplyDeleteOh, now that's funny. Sorry Lulu is growing so fast. The talk makes it sound better than it really is, but in the round with 3D...wonder if she thinks Donald Duck is starring in it. Now, there's an image for you.
ReplyDeleteSo funny and cute and innocent all rolled up into one!!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for always stopping by and leaving such kind comments!!
I do think I am addicted to spray paint!!
Hugs,
Deb
LOVE IT...especially the part of it being in 3D!!
ReplyDeleteHa ha ha ha! That is precious! I remember my sister's giving me the talk - I think I was about 11. My comment 'well as long as I never have to touch it!' ha ha! Darned kids, growing up way too fast!
ReplyDeleteGood Morning Diana, A good chuckle for this cold morning right at freezing. You never know what they are going to tell you. I can't believe that my oldest grandson will be a freshman in high school this coming fall. The kids now grow up so fast. Have a wonderful day. Hugs and Prayers from your Missouri Friend.
ReplyDeleteDiana, I loved this post. So funny, theater in the round. We needed this laugh today, thanks. xoxo,Susie
ReplyDeleteoh my gosh I can hardly type for laughing, poor sweet cheeks will never I repeat never live this down!!!!
ReplyDeleteOh Diana, I can hardly wait till SweetCheeks gets The Talk. I'm sure she will have a quite a bit to say about that!
ReplyDeleteCute. I remember when my oldest friends Grandchild came home about grade 6 and explained about the banana and the balloon she called it that was taught to the girls in her discusion without the boys with a nurse . She goes Yuks. I will never go with a boy..
ReplyDeleteMy friend was shocked.
The second kid is never quite as innocent as the oldest are they? Oh well better they learn in the home I say.
ReplyDeleteThat is hilarious! She just keeps you in stitches, I bet. LOL! It's her sweet innocence that makes her so cute. My youngest son is in the 5th grade right now and will be learning about their changing bodies at school. They just sent home a permission slip for children to learn about puberty. Should be interesting to hear about what he learns when he comes home from that!
ReplyDeleteFrom the mouth of babes! Too funny :) Enjoy your weekend.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Stephanie
Hi Diana, you had me rolling at sweet cheeks 3D comment~ hope spring is starting to head your way, it is so cold here today after storms rolled thru yesterday.... Brrrr, I want to bring out my little Presto Heat Dish!

Cheryl
What a hoot! Now that would really be something - 3-D glasses! xo Nellie
ReplyDeleteOh SC could come up with a mental visualization like that one for us.
ReplyDeleteSnort....
Jen
OMGoodness Diana! This is too funny...you have got to love that Sweet Cheeks!! Enjoy your weekend, Gail
ReplyDeleteSweet Cheeks doesn't realize what she's hoping for! Oh my......
ReplyDeleteSweet Cheeks doesn't realize what she's hoping for! Oh my......
ReplyDeleteSweet Cheeks doesn't realize what she's hoping for! Oh my......
ReplyDeleteThat reminds me of the old Art Linkletter Show, "Kids Say The Darnest Things, do you remember that? You just never know what may come out of an sweet child's mouth, LOL.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful weekend.
Your blogging sister, Connie :)
3D? Too cute! Well, the saying of it...not the visual. :) She is a cutie and so innocent. Don't you wish they could stay innocent a lot longer? Kids grow up too fast these days.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful day and weekend!
I never get tired of sweet cheeks stories.
ReplyDeleteMy husband was in charge of the talk. He came home after going out with my son. He said "well I told him where babies come from and while I was at it, I told him that santa claus, the tooth fairy and the easter bunny are all fake!" Talk about loss of innocence!
That is NOT a movie I would want to see in 3-D.
ReplyDeleteThanks for such a good news post and happy pictures I think after this week we all need some good news !
ReplyDeleteI think Sweet Cheeks might be in for a surprise! LOL That is just too funny!
ReplyDeleteHi Diana, too funny and 3D. LOL.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing this uplift for the day. I think we all needed it. From Boston to Texas.
Have a wonderful weekend. XO
Hugs, CM
I can't believe she is old enough for this! When my girls were that age, we had a very nice book that described this in very modest and sweet terms-but it was still embarrassing for both of us. Considering both girls have five kids and one is pregnant, do you think I didn't teach enough-lol.
ReplyDeleteHugs, Noreen
wow, that seems to be such a young age. But I guess children are "exposed" to soo much already through tv, that they kind of have to give the talk.
ReplyDeleteTimes have changed and we have to face these things so much earlier now. Can you believe I was in the 8th grade before a girlfriend told a group of us girls at a slumber party the facts of life. My response was, "Not my mother and father!"
ReplyDeleteOh, my goodness, from the mouths of babes! Chuckle, chuckle!
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, that's hilarious! That really is the DREADED talk, isn't it? The girls' pictures are darling!
ReplyDeleteOh, SweetCheeks is too funny. Can you imagine hearing the talk and seeing the movie in 3D glasses? She must light up your life with some of the things she says.
ReplyDeleteHave a fun weekend, Diana.
Love,
~Sheri
Diana, This is hilarious! Both sisters are cuties.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Sherry
precious and priceless...and pretty cute little photos to go with!
ReplyDeleteOh my...they are giving The Talk at a much younger age now! Honestly at any age it's a challenge. Certainly can't bury your head in the sand these days. :o)
ReplyDeletelolol! Hmmmmmm...THE TALK and 3D glasses.....? Might want to hold off for a while on that one, D! lolol!
ReplyDeletexoxo laurie
Hi Diana... I wish they would let little girls be little girls a bit longer before "the talk"... we did not have that until junior high... I hate to see little girls pushed into being grownups so fast these days... I know you want to keep yours little forever!... xoxo Julie Marie
ReplyDeleteDon't you want to volunteer to be the one with her at the talk? I can't even begin (or want to) imagine how that will be recieved-LOL
ReplyDeleteToo funny... you gotta love em!
ReplyDelete3-D glasses my FOOT!! LOL LOL LOL!
ReplyDeleteWhat's so funny indeed. Oh Sweet Cheeks the things you have to learn :)
my husband and I previewed "the Movie". 5th grade is pretty generic.. but by 7th grade the slope is way slippery and the government teaching stresses over the top acceptance and explanations of alternate life styles my kids never heard of..by 8th grade the movie teaches how the pill does wonders for all females of reproductive age...especially since it makes girls skin so pretty! so girls should all be taking it.
ReplyDeleteLMAO!!~ Leave it to sweet cheeks. You know she don't want to miss a thing!
ReplyDeleteThey are growing up fast! You are such a sweet Nana. Your little angesl are adorable as always.
ReplyDeleteWhat a funny story!!!!....The girls are just so precious!!
ReplyDeleteAhh yes the talk I had to give that to my daughter in 5th grade and yes I felt she was too young. But since they were talking about it in school I felt I had too.My daughter seemed to take it really well.I know when I got the talk I was a bit grossed out LOL!

Oh boy, now wouldn't that be quite the movie! Geez, I never got "the talk", I was just given a library book when I was in the 4th grade, I remember a picture of a bee pollinating a flower! Good thing I never asked any questions!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the chuckle today ~ very much needed after this week.

Pat
What a scream. THE TALK at an iMax theater.
ReplyDelete3-D! Funniest thing I've heard in a long time...now I need to go and poke my minds eye out.
ReplyDeleteHeck, I want to see THAT movie, oh my 3D!
ReplyDeleteCarol
ROFL!! Theater in the round and 3-D glasses? Scary thought! Funny kid! Hugs, Leena
ReplyDeleteI don't think I could take the movie in 3D even at my age! ROFL Can we place our vote for you to be there when Sweetcheeks gets the talk? This we want to hear about!
ReplyDeleteoh boy, i am really getting a visual on that one. xo laura
ReplyDeleteLOL, I can just see that movie now, with Sweet Cheeks being cheeky.
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh that is funny!! Can you imagine? Kids would be running out of the room screaming! Might be good way to halt teenage pregnancy though...just sayin ;) Thanks for the laugh!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Deborah
The talk...so funny and cute!!!
ReplyDeleteI really needed a laugh today!!!! And I am laughing. out loud. Very loudly!!! SO cute. Sweet Cheeks needs to visit Alabama and visit for a day or two...she's too cute!
ReplyDeleteGoodness me, that baby is SO funny. xoGinger
ReplyDeleteShe is a riot....sooo cute. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm home and catching up on as many older posts as I can, Diana, and this one was a riot! I can just imagine THAT film in 3-D. : )
ReplyDeleteOh, no. Not in 3D!!! I'm not sure anyone needs to see THAT in all its glory.
ReplyDeleteHeee Heee Heee!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the chuckle. I'm glad I didn't have 3D glasses to see that movie. :)
ReplyDeleteSounds like you've got quite some adventures ahead with that one.
Kelly
3D glasses for a reproduction movie? Hmmm...I remember the old B movie I saw once on TV...The Attack Of The 40 Foot Woman.....could you just imagine what 3D glasses could do to a pair of Fallopian tubes? it wouldn't be pretty.....
