I grew up in an
Irish Community
in Pennsylvania.
Do you know I believed in
Leprechauns until I was at
least 12 years old?
Yes.I.Did.
Matter of fact,
I still believe in them.
I always associate them
with Shamrocks.
And, my girls do,too.
Last year they blessed me
with several sweet pieces of
Irish China.
Today, I am taking a little time
to play with it....
I will be putting a few of these
here and there in the
kitchen window.
They always make me smile.
I will be paying homage to my
Irish heritage and hoping that
THE BAD LEPRECHAUNS
don't bring me bad juju.
And there ARE a few bad
ones out there!
Now I KNOW some of you
MIGHT NOT BELIEVE
in leprechauns
but here I show you true
and irrefutable proof.
I found this on the internet
AND as we ALL know.
EVERYTHING we read on the
internet is true.
God be with ye and I'll be around
a wee bit later to see what
tricks you are up to.
What pretty china. My nephews totally believe in leprechauns. My sister goes to great lengths on March 17th to leave clues throughout the house for her boys.

Your china is gorgeous, Diana! I've never seen a pattern like that. What a sweet gift from your girls. I'm Irish too:) I was expecting to see a large hairy chested leprechaun at the end of your post!!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful dishes. And I have never believed in leprechauns. I actually hadn't even heard of them until I saw a Lucky Charms commercial. But - my son Billy's hockey team was once given green jerseys so they named themselves the Leprechauns and they passed a box of Lucky Charms around for players to munch on during their bench time. That was pretty cute.
ReplyDeleteAnd I may not have believed in leprechauns but I did believe a few other silly things. Then - when I caught on to the fact that most of what my Dad told me was not really true I quit believing him altogether - and was honest with my kids, for the most part, anyway.

ReplyDeleteMy Grandmother was Irish - and made all of us grandkids think we were 100% pure Irish - her influence was so strong - that we all claim today to be of Irish Heritage and totally ignore the English and Scottish side of things LOL

ReplyDeleteMy great-grandmother was Irish (Scotch-Ulster, actually)....and I guess almost all of my ancestors were either Irish or from the Scottish borders w/ northern England.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, my grandmother used to always tell me stories, and she used to tell me about the Sack Man. DId you hear any Sack Man stories growing up? :/
And I do believe in fairies, from Banshees to Pixies and everything in between (including leprechauns)....
