I think you all know I used to
EAT SUGAR.
What kind of SUGAR
did I eat?
Well,
This wasn't far from
my mouth
when we had them in town.
They left town before I
quit eating sugar.
I was never was a big donut
eater.....but....man...
I won't even tell you how
many of those warm, fresh
babies I could eat as they
came off the moving
production line.
When we were working
on this house I would
bring the guys a big
box of these on
Monday and Friday.
(they loved me...actually
they loved the donuts and
only PRETENDED to love me)
Seriously,
I don't know WHY
they used to tell me to
go fly a kite
when I asked
them to do something.
Which, cleverly,
brings me to kites.
I don't know who is the
bigger kid in this family-
My son-in-law,
The Brawny Man,
or MyHero.
Give them a kite and they
will play on the beach
all day long.
We are talking
BIG PULL YOU
ALONG THE GROUND KITES
here!
My son-in-law goes home and
relaxes.
After MyHero wrestles one
of those things for the
afternoon he needs something
like this....
and this....
But he is still a
Kid-At-Heart
and definitely
NOT KINKY.
So....
You want to see
KINKY, do you?
How about THIS?
Anyone remember
The Kinks?
I am using the title to one
of their best known songs
here-please apply it to
yourself if you perked
up at the word
KINKY.
The song?
"You Really Got Me"
uh-huh-you have a good
day now- m'Kay?
(notice how I cleverly worked
that K in just one more time-
I just tickle myself sometimes!;>)

I heart Krispie Kremes too! xo
ReplyDeleteThe kites look like a lot of fun, but I can understand why your hero would need to lie down afterwards, lol.
ReplyDeleteA few years ago my son and I bought some freshly made donuts with the idea of sharing them with my husband and daughter who were out surfing. Needless to say, by the time they came out of the sea we were holding an empty bag!
Aw - you're too kute Diana - ( and Klever too, lol )
ReplyDeleteGreat post!
XOX
At least your husband is sitting around playing video games. Have you seen grown men doing that? It's Krazy I tell ya!
ReplyDeleteYour Friend, k. I mean "m"! See, you got me doing it now.
Very clever post indeed. I hope Sweetcheeks is excited about school. Josie keeps asking me everyday when school is going to happen.
ReplyDeleteOh yes! You are so clever (can't remember if that is with a c or k?).
ReplyDeleteSweetcheeks first day of school, you better warn the teacher..LOL Bless her heart, Diana, she is growing up. Hope she loves it. I have always wanted to fly a fancy kite....but never had much success flying a regular one.:):) xo, Susie
ReplyDeleteYour Alphabet Laughs have been so much fun to read... Loved them all!!!
ReplyDeleteEach time I drive John to the dr., we pass the Hot Doughnuts sign at KK!!! What temptation!
ReplyDeleteAs for kites, I had many when I was a kid, but never got it more than a few feet off the ground!
Wishing SweetCheeks a good week at Kindergarten!
Now, that is one thing I never tried! Flying a kite, I mean, not the donuts. LOL Actually, our closest location is about an hour away, so that is the only thing that saved me from doing like you and stop popping these things in my mouth! LOL I hope SweetCheeks has a wonderful first day of school! Such exciting time!
ReplyDeleteSigh... Krispy Kremes, the only donuts I would eat as well.... I'm so glad I can't find any real ones near me :)
ReplyDeleteGood luck to Sweetcheeks in Kindy!!! Good luck to you in getting through it too.
You just had to post photos of Krispy Kremes first thing in the morning. They sell them at the grocery store around here, which is not even close to getting to eat them warm, but they are still worth eating.
ReplyDeleteyou made me smile again today, I have never had a Krispie Creme donut, we don't have them here but I know they are wonderful!
ReplyDeleteHave you found big improvements in your health since stopping wheat and sugar? The reason I ask is I I noticed my arthritis is better when I cut the wheat and sugar, am I imagining this,
Your kite flyers are wonderful and what a great place to do it!!!
I keep thinking sweet cheeks is older, she acts and looks older, very clever girl,
Krispy Kremes, I love those things, well actually I just like doughnuts period. I don't buy them often though as they are too fattening.
ReplyDeleteI hope sweet cheeks has a wonderful first day at school.
I love donuts, haven't had a fresh warm one in a long time, but I wasn't all that crazy about the Krispy Kremes, maybe it was the picture on the calendar that turned me off them.
ReplyDeleteHi Diana! Great Ks and I love those donuts too! Yummmmy!! Cute post and yes, I remember the Kinks!! :)
ReplyDeleteBe a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
Oh man. If I knew the earth was ending tomorrow, I think that I would lie in be and eat Krispie Kreme hot donuts and drink diet coke all day. Yum
ReplyDeleteSweet Cheeks must be so excited to be starting Kindergarten, Diana! I love that Kinks song and always turn it up on the radio when it comes on. When I had to go gluten free donuts became number 5 on the list of things I miss eating; especially Boston Creme donuts!
ReplyDeleteI must not be a K person. I never cared much about Krispy Kremes and I find kite flying kind of boring. I must be more of a C person -- chocolate and crochet!
ReplyDeleteThere is a Krispy Kreme kitchen not too very far away from us. Thankfully they have never been a weakness of mine, though I certainly have many other weaknesses.:)
ReplyDeleteHow exciting for SweetCheeks! Her first day of Kindergarten has come quickly, hasn't it? The little ones seem to grow up too fast.:(
Have a great Wednesday, Diana!
xo Nellie
Not a big donut eater...too sweet for me. But we get them every-once-in-a-while...aka once every 2 years :)
ReplyDeleteFunny & clever & amazing how you segue from one topic to the other. It's a gift, I tell ya!
ReplyDeletekrispy kreme's have to contain crack because no matter how hard you try, if you eat one, you are hooked!!!
ReplyDeletewhen they went out of business here (how that could happen I have no idea) I too cried for days!!
xxDaniella
Hi Diana... you are too cute!... I loved the Kinks... I am sure most of these young gals today have never heard of them... that's ok... I don't have a clue who these modern singers are (nor do I want to know)... give me the good old days anytime, xoxo Julie Marie
ReplyDeleteMe no do donuts no more (since Krispy Kreme left) except when with grandkids in Round Rock, Texas. Round Rock Donuts are the very BEST!!! And that is why our grandkids love to see us visit them! It means they will get donuts too!
ReplyDeleteWhere is the photo of Sweet Cheeks today?
You are fun-nee and I remember the Kinks and that song. Would you believe a guy named Kinky actually ran for governor in Texas not long ago?
We used to take Krispy Kremes to the Kids when they we in Kollage!

I wish I didn't like sugar so much. I'd probably be alot thinner! Those Krispy Kreme doughnuts are delicious. Good thing they don't have one of those close to my house.
ReplyDeleteThey do make a good donut! Isn't it great you can still play games you loved as a kid!
ReplyDeleteHi, thanks for your visit. I love sugar too...and I will tell you how many of those babies I can eat..6..yes I am a sugar lover! Love the kites, looks so fun and the nap after too! ;)
ReplyDeleteI can't think of anything sweetier than a Krispy Kreme unles it is 12 Krispy Kremes!!!!! Thank goodness we do not have one in our town. You have to drive about 10 miles to get them.
ReplyDeleteArney was home for a couple of days so I went back to read your posts and I love the table, it is beautiful.
You always make me SMILE, Hugs, Mary
Love the kinks! Those kites are awesome. I've never flown them, but love watching others do it. We're going to Lake Erie this weekend so I'm hoping there will be some out on the beach.
ReplyDeleteI loved the Kinks, too, and now I am going to be singing that song all day!
ReplyDeleteWishing Sweetcheeks a wonderful day! :)
XO,
Jane
I couldn't imagine what would happen to me if I tried flying one of those kites. I would probably end up in another Country.. :)
ReplyDeleteDonuts are always so very tempting!!!
I saw those Krispy Kremes and came right over. Awww, I thought you were sending a box this way. ;-(
ReplyDeleteThey sell them at the grocery here. Tempting, but not the same as those warm ones right off the production line.
Wow. You really went form A-Z with that K post ;)
ReplyDeleteI never learned to fly a kite and I always preferred Dunkin Donuts over Krispy Kreme. I guess that means I'm not a 'K' lover. :(
ReplyDeleteNow I can tell what I've missed...several letters of the alphabet! heehee! My hubby loves doughnuts...I have to settle for a bagel now and pretend it's a doughnut! heehee! Sweet hugs!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE Krispy Kreme donuts! I would heat leftovers in the microwave for 10 seconds and the were just as good as fresh!! Yum!
ReplyDeleteDon't care for Kites. I do remember the Kinks. Danced a few times to that song!
Can't believe Sweet Cheeks is starting Kindergarten!
Those donuts are EVIL good....so soft and sugary...it's too easy to eat more than just one....I stay away from them...it's a good thing I can't reach through the screen right now.....!!!
ReplyDeletethanks for sharing.
ciao bella
Creative Carmelina
I hear ya on the Krisy Kremes! I was sooooo excited when the first one came to Utah. Then one day I made the 15 minute drive to get a hot dozen, and they were GONE! I was crushed! NOOOOO!!!!! (Same when my closest Baskin Robbins closed up - that was tragic!)
ReplyDeleteLove that the boys fly kites! How fun.
Can you believe that I have never eaten a Krispy Kreme? I have heard of them. They are not available in my part of the country.
ReplyDeleteI am not a donut fan, except for those nutty ones...no frosting, just crushed nuts...no idea what they are called, but they have been my favorite since I was a kid. It's been a long time since I had one of those, too.
Now I will probably have to go out and find some soon. :)
Thanks for sharing! Who wouldn't remember the Kinks?
ReplyDeletexoxo,
Amanda
You really got me now - I was all ready to hear the lyrics to LOLA only there's nothing brawny about the namesake for that song! Another fun post.
ReplyDeleteI hope Sweet Cheeks will enjoy kindergarten and have lots of fun. I can't wait to hear all about it.
ReplyDeletexo,
Danielle
Kinky and doughnuts all in one post? LOL I need to pee.
ReplyDeleteI love that Kinks song. Your hero looks a little worn out :)
ReplyDeleteC'mon, you had me at kinky. I thought you had some crazy piece of vintage erotica posted! We're all over here checkin' it out! Now you owe us, Diana. Now you have to find a really good vintage one and fit it in another letter! Maybe X! But fully clothed :)
ReplyDeletemmmm...mmmm...good! When I was pregnant with Jack I would eat three of these in a sitting:) No wonder the kid loves sugar so much.
ReplyDeleteOh kites bring out the kid in me..lol and those Krispie Kremes are to die for! Yummm
ReplyDeleteBlezzings,
Gert
Nothing in the world, better than Krispy Kremes and Sweet Cheeks' first day of Kindergarten.
ReplyDeleteHugs and Blessings
I've never had a Krispy Creme..Guess I'll have to put it on my Bucket list...
ReplyDeleteI ate an entire dozen of KK donuts, once and then was sick for 48 hours. I swore them off that day because I can't eat only ONE and I don't EVER wanna be that sick again.
ReplyDeleteOk, what are you gonna do for x, y and z??? It's hard to believe that Sweetcheeks is going to be in kindergarten! So is my little nephew. They just grow up all too quickly, don't they??
ReplyDeleteDixie-Creme donuts were my favorite, but I think they were only a Mid-West thing.
ReplyDeleteYour husband is a kid at heart. My gosh, he deserved a nap after all that exercise!!
A fun post! Love your kinky Kinks!!
ReplyDeleteAnd who doesn't love to fly a good kite on a sunny day???
Have a fab Thursday!
Becky
OH I used to love these...but being gluten free...not any more!
ReplyDeleteYour A to Z was a real enjoyment.
ReplyDeleteHa,ha Tee, hee
Have a good day.
Unfortunately, I haven't stopped eating sugar, and I enjoyed hot Krispie Kremes on Monday. They were melt-in-your-mouth good :) My husband and I laughed as we ate ours while watching other old couples entering the establishment for their daily "sugar high". LOL
ReplyDeleteI love watching those huge kites at the beach. It takes a real man to wrestle one of those!
Those boys and their toys! Those kites look fun!!
ReplyDeleteI'm not a big donut-eater, just a little donut-eater and was sad when our Krispy Kremes went away.
ReplyDeleteI didn't think I knew the Kinks until you mentioned the song. Shows you how old I am!! =)
I just can't understand how she walks like a woman and talks like a man.
ReplyDeleteNo, that's not a reference to you, Diana! :)
PS - love your frenchy table!
Kelly
