The clue should be in the word
NAWTH.
Up here we say North...
Down THERE they say
Nawth.
Gotta love people
with those
S'uthern accents.
Yes.You.Do.
As a matter of fact
we DO love a COUPLE of those
S'uthern people.
Yes.We.Do.
Want to know where we
found them?
We found them in this
beautiful, beautiful home.
I should have moved the cars
first, I suppose...
but you get the idea!
See this?
This is the window of the
bathroom that we used
in the guest suite.
She put that little bird out there
to keep REAL BIRDS from
sitting there and doing...
well-you know-
what birds do.
Yes-That's what you think it is.
Want to see a shutter
up close and personal?
There's a mist afoot-
another clue to where we are.
I can't tell you how beautifully
we were treated
Down South.
MyHero and MistahJeff
go back a LONG way.
But MizB & I
didn't really know each other.
Now we do!
picture...but trust me-
she is beautiful-
inside and out.
I adore her.
No-wait-I love her.
I want to marry her.
oh- wait-
that's not right-
I mean I love her like a
SISTER (if I had one).
She is sweet and lovely
and has the most wonderful laugh.
Now, MistahJeff can put on
his old crudgmugeon act
but he can't fool me-
Underneath that is a
sweet heart.
Want to see more?
Well, you will have to come
back tomorrow and I will
show you some pictures of
the INSIDE OF this
beautiful home.
It is gorgeous!
Beyond gorgeous!
Meanwhile you can take a
peek at the mountains they
enjoy each and every day.
Is that breathtaking , or what?
So...was your guess
The Smoky Mountains?
Do you know WHY they are
smoky?
Because good old boys like
this sit out in the garage
and puff their fool heads off.
MyHero told me
Real Men Smoke.
I told him real men only
smoke butts they pick up off
the street and he should
Get Busy!
Y'all come back tomorrow
cuz you sure don't want to miss
the
REST OF THE STORY..
and it starts with this....
Are you in Normandy? By the look of that house, that would be my first guess. Beautiful!
ReplyDeletem.
I know, I know, but I'm not ruining the surprise...
ReplyDeleteBet you were served sweet tea, or as I call it, syrup. Funny how a southern girl doesn't like that stuff they serve in the south, isn't it?
The house is gorgeous, and of course the mountains are quite lovely. The turkeys are amazing, haven't seen a real bronze turkey in many years. All the for market birds are white, so the dark ink in the pin feathers don't spoil the look of the skin.
LOLing at those good ol' boys smokin' up the Smokies. Great post and can't wait for part 2.
ReplyDeleteI'm from Tennessee and went to school in Knoxville, so the scenery looks like home to me.
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous home your friends have!
What the heck is that in the last picture, Diana? Vultures? Were they following you and your Hero? : ) Such a beautiful house! It looks like it should be in a magazine. I'll look forward to seeing more.
ReplyDeleteWhy, bless your heart and give you a corn pone! ;P I know why they are called the Smokey Mountains because I live in Alabama in the foothills of the Appalachians.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your stay down South! Your post is *precious*
xo,
RJ
I'd say Tennessee or North Carolina - maybe even North Georgia - I love the Smoky Mountains - gorgeous places - that home is amazing -
ReplyDeleteThey're called that because of the low lying clouds and fog - breathtaking views!
Hope you have a blessed day,
Kathy
Love the smokies. My kids are heading near there for camp soon.
ReplyDeleteGreat photos.
Diana, There's a warning out in the Smokies...some of the camps are having bear problems...be careful, wear your track shoes. :):) Love that home. Tell Hero, real men know when to stop smoking..bad boy, bad boy. Habits are tough, and I am not talking about Nuns.:):) Smiles xo, Susie
ReplyDeleteOh how beautiful, Diana!!
ReplyDeleteWe love driving down there on our way to Florida. You are blessed to be able to stay, and see the sites.
Love the mountains, as long as I don't have to drive in them.
xxoo
what a beautiful home, I'll be back tomorrow!
ReplyDeleteI don't know where you are, but that's a beautiful home!
ReplyDeleteThe Smokies are one of my favorite place on earth. I spent lots of time there with my grandparents as a little girl. That home is fabulous. Sounds like a pretty fun stay and can't wait to hear more.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Laura
Now that last picture was simply not big enough. Are those things turkeys or vultures? Hmmmmm..... your hero could go turkey hunting and tomorrow you might share a recipe. Or, maybe there's a murder in the mountains and those vultures could be tampering with the evidence. I guess I have to wait til tomorrow to find out.
ReplyDeleteLooks like you are having fun! Beautiful home and scenery!! Can't wait to see the next post... your last picture has me intrigued! :)
ReplyDeleteOh, pretty, pretty home.... & lucky, lucky you to get to stay there...
ReplyDelete( & my bad, but I kind of like the smell of the guys having a good cigar in the garage... )
Oh my goodness...what a beautiful home!

So, the ladies get that beautiful home all to themselves, while the men sit in the garage. Te he. ~ Maureen
ReplyDeleteTurkey vultures, D?
ReplyDeleteWhat a great trip. I can't wait to see the house.
Magoo does the same thing with old friends of ours!
They go out to the party barn and smoke a cigar while we
Wimmin' folk chatter on in the hen house. ; )
I've never seen the Smokies but I've seen plenty of the Rockies and the western mountains. Maybe there is a someday in there somewhere.
ReplyDeleteWe loved our spring visit to the Smokeys so much that I'm ready to go back! Right now! That home is gorgeous, I can't wait to see the inside. So glad you had fun!
ReplyDeleteI'm definitely checking back for the rest of the tour! I love the outside of her house. Wow! It's just gorgeous. She has an incredible veiw too. Lucky her!
