Pot is a funny word,
isn't it?
There is a POT~
And there is a POT
And there is POT
Do you know I missed that
60's revolution?
Well, I did-
Thank You, Lord!
There is another kind of
pot, too.
To POT something...
Oh-And THIS kind of POT
Yep- ALL kinds of pots
out there..including
CRACK POTS...
I won't show any images
of those because
some of my relatives
have asked me not to show
their faces on my blog.....
and they might
start complaining and
BLOW UP MY BLOG
(cuz that is what
Crackpots do).
And then there is ME-
Slowly going
TO POT...
and, believe me, I am NOT
showing you any pictures
of THAT either!
So...now that I have
given you a short
refresher course on POTS-
Here is my little potting area
which I showed you before~
When I am potting I can
look down towards the bay.
We put this berm in about 4 years ago.
There was not a plant here.
There is a house to the right of us
and this gives us both privacy.
There was none before.
The Bay is straight ahead beyond
the trees.
This is the end of that fence...
and where I just planted one
of the New Dawn roses.
If I peek around the corner
and look across the yard
to the South
here is what I see.
I love our little
PLAYHOUSE.
It, too, is waiting for its
Spring Spruce Up...
Inside AND Outside.
That will be one of my
next posts...if I can ever
get at it.
I have some
HELPERS coming over to
HELP-
Hmmmm...so much to do...
Clean or Play?
I think BEFORE we CLEAN
we have to PLAY
by checking to see if
any fairies have come to
abide in our
Fairy Garden.
any fairies have come to
abide in our
Fairy Garden.
they have been buzzing around
looking for a place to land.
If anyone knows, she does.
She has a direct connection
to Fairyland-she talks to
them all the time.
Hmmmm...maybe MyHero does, too.
He seems to be talking to himself
a lot lately....maybe HE is talking
to the fairies...
or....maybe not~
Squeal! I didn't know you had a special little house too! How fun! You have a lovely home with lots of splendid views of the bay.
ReplyDeleteYou have such a beautiful garden, and that view across the bay is just stunning. The fairies have a pretty special garden too!
ReplyDeleteDiana, I can see why the little ones love to come to your house. So much fun.I know they feel special there.:):) Smiles, xoxo, Susie
ReplyDeleteI love your yard! If I lived there I would never want to leave home. I could sit and watch the bay - or watch the garden grow for hours. But then, not much would get done, would it.
ReplyDeleteDiana, you have beautiful views all around! I would want to "go to pot" all the time if that's what I had to look at. I also want to play in that playhouse right now. I love it!
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful yard.. and oh to live on the water! Lucky girl. LOVE your playhouse and fairy garden.. those grandchildren must love to visit your place.
ReplyDeleteMaybe he is the one who knows where the pot is,or is it Pots are, and that is what he is muttering about, lol.
ReplyDeleteHi Diana, as always, a charming post!... your home and gardens are sooo beautiful!... what I would give to live on the waterfront... it looks like you have found your "pot of gold" at the end of the rainbow!... I think I am going to come live with you... I'll be just fine in the playhouse, no need to make a big fuss over me... I can help Sweet Cheeks keep an eye on those mischievous little fairies in your garden too... and your potting bench is just too much fun!... I was around in the 60's, but not a hippie or anything either... I guess I was a flower child though... but in a different sense... out working in my mama's gardens... gee... I just never did fit in anywhere!... for that, I am thankful though!... xoxo Julie Marie
ReplyDeleteGood morning, my cracked pot friend! I love your views, but I want to know why you have so many empty pots and its almost June. I love how you have stashed your pot area out of view but still have so much to look at and enjoy while you putter out there.
ReplyDeleteFairies and pot probably don't go well together, since they will be too high to land in that fun little fairy garden. You might try leaving some brownies for the fairies.
My DH walks around muttering to himself, too. I think its an old fart thing. Happens when the hair goes...ooohhh-- burn.
I forgot what a beautiful view you have. You created the perfect solution to hiding the neighbors area with your lovely trees and it make such a wonderful background for you to go to pot. :)
ReplyDeleteyou live a charmed life, diana! love the bay and your cute cottage, and then, there is the fairy hang out!
ReplyDeleteYour yard is amazing! I've lived on water most of my life and think it is something my soul needs. Please tell SweetCheeks I have sent my fairies to board with you and ask her to keep an eye on them. They are rather shy with strangers. ~ Maureen
ReplyDeleteWhat a welcoming spot! I'm sure those little Helpers enjoy that playhouse!
ReplyDeleteI love your property and all your plantings, Diana! I would love to see more of it ~ please share! : ) Love the fairy garden and that little house looks adorable. You've got a great view. While I was visiting in NY, I was at my brother's and he has a view to die for of the LI Sound.
ReplyDeleteI'm supposed to be working but I had to comment... LOVE your yard! I would love to live on the water like that. So beautiful and so peaceful. Maybe it's a good thing right now, I'd never get any work done!
ReplyDeleteWhere you go to pot is MAGIC!

Diana, this is another great story! I think the fairies are loving their garden home on the water! I would love to move into the playhouse! It's adorable! Your backyard is stunning! The view of the bay is gorgeous! I would stay outside and pot all the time!
ReplyDeleteI love what you have planted for privacy. It looks pretty while serving a purpose. I didn't know you had a playhouse. My grandfather, who was a carpenter, built one for me when I was little. We used to play in there for hours on end. Mr. Bird Nest talks to himself too. He never will actually say anything loud enough for me to hear. I wonder if he and Your Hero are talking to each other in some secret code.
ReplyDeleteI am going to pot too....so don't feel alone. When you showed the pic of the pot....It brought back a memory of when my mom...who was NOT world wise, called my husband and said, the neighbor's are growing marijuana. My husband said "mom...it can't be marijuana....but she insisted so we drove over there...and sure as shootin...there was pot growning in the neighbors yard. This was in the 70's....but we haven't ever forgotten it!
ReplyDeleteI feel like I am the one who has gone to pot. We have been visiting relatives for the last three weeks. I have been eating fabby food, baking for them and eating all the wrong things. We got home last night after three weeks.
ReplyDeleteI love all the different pot pics. The fairy garden and play house are fabulous. I wish I could be there to play with you and the girls and of course look out over that bay. Ahhhh, but alas, I have mounds of laundry that needs attention.
Think of me when you and your pink crew are cleaning and playing.
xo Ginger
Do you know I thought you were going to say you were off with the fairies!! Your garden is lovely. Joan
ReplyDeleteI love your yard and would so enjoy being on the water. What a cute little play house. I bet the girls love it.

What a pretty area to go to pot in! You have such a beautiful yard, Diana--I hope you and the girls see some evidence of fairies soon!
ReplyDeleteYou have the most beautiful view. How do you tear yourself away to get anything done. I could sit and just LOOK, it is so beautiful. Maybe I could sign up to come live in the playhouse. I promise I wouldn't bother the fairies! . . .Who knew there were so many different POTS? You're a HOOT!
ReplyDeleteI would ove to live near water. Love your fairy garden. I bet the fairies will be arriving soon.
ReplyDeleteWhat an absolute beautiful garden and view! Stunning! No wonder the fairies are coming there...they probably love the playhouse too!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing!

Hi Diana!
ReplyDeleteWow, what a wonderful garden and view you have. And that little play house has to be so much fun.
Can't wait until you show it to us in more detail.
My Grandma used to say that when she met my Grandpa that "he didn't have a pot to (blank) in or a window to throw it our! LOL!
hugs
Sissie

ReplyDeleteYou are hilarious! I chuckled all the way through. Love it!

ReplyDeleteGreat post as usual...I would so love to come and spend an afternoon in your yard...it is so so beautiful!!! May I add another kind of 'Pot'...my grandma would say; "Oh, you little pot!" when I did something I shouldn't have..loved it! ;)
ReplyDeleteOh, I always wanted a little playhouse!!! Growing up my friend had one and I loved playing there. Your yard and the "living" privacy fence is really nice!
ReplyDeleteDiana, your yard and view are spectacular! What a fabulous place you have. I completely understand why the girls love to come over and play at your house. I was wondering about your New Dawn rose and now I know where it's planted. You chose a beautiful spot for it.
ReplyDeleteHope you are having a wondeful week.
Your yard is just so pretty, Diana! What a gorgeous view you have. And your little fairy garden is so cute. I still have grand plans of living in your play house one of these days:)
ReplyDeleteYour property is utterly amazingly beautiful, Diana! Wow! What a yard! What a view! You are truly so blessed to live in such a gorgeous place ---- crackpots or not! lol!

The cutest ever post!!! I love your views, no wonder you enjoy being in the garden. That doll house is so lovely, and your fairy garden is so adorable.
ReplyDeleteYou have Mr. Hero, gorgeous grandchildren, beautiful views a lovely garden and a wheel barrow filled with fairies. I think you are blessed and very funny too.
Karen
Your wheelbarrow fairy land has inspired me!! I have flowers planted in mine but will add a fairy house, path and some other fairy things. Love the idea thanks!
ReplyDeleteYou have a beautiful spot by the lake Diana! Why wouldn't the fairies want to visit?!
ReplyDeleteLike your home and everything to the eyes I can see. Great blog!
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, how did I miss coming by yesterday - I guess because it flew by like an eagle!
ReplyDeleteDiana, I love all you've done. Your little slice of heaven on earth is beautiful! I love all of it! Maybe I'll come for a visit and stay in the play house, if it has a pot (the potty kind) then I wont get shot when I need to go!!) I'd love to get to know your fairy's a bit better!!
Joking aside. You've been a very busy lady! Mine's coming along, but will be a while because they're all new and need to grow in to their spaces.
We added two lilacs yesterday. So happy about that, and to get some back to the store, replant some and move others. Found our gardener is a great lawn mower and a hole digger, but still learning about the plant side of it. Oops - my fault, should have paid closer attention!
Have a wonderful day!
Hugs, my friend,
Donna
What beautiful views you have from your cute potting area. Love the privacy planting area. I wish I had done that twenty ago between us and the messy neighbor. :)
ReplyDeleteYou have so many beautiful secret places! First that big yard that I thought it was a tiny one! Then that magnificent view! The great potting space, now a playhouse and even a Fairy Garden!!
ReplyDeleteYou sure need Fairy help to keep up with everything!! :)
Beautiful!
Great landscaping! I love your property. That playhouse is a dream I always had! I know some bloggers who built their own grown up style playhouses. Places to go and create! Sigh! Love your stories Nana Diana!
ReplyDeleteThere you go making me laugh again. What gorgeous views you have. Love your beautiful yard. That't the only thing hubby and I did not notice about our home when we bought it. The backyard neighbors look down on us. I mean really look down. lol! I think we were so impressed by the gorgeous inside view we forgot to notice. Luckily we like them and they are hardly never outside.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Jann
ack! I love your fairy garden!!!! I'm putting mine in an old wagon. I want a mini clothesline and beehives too..ha! Chickens? Gotta have chickens.
