GUESS WHO
signed up for
Soccer?
Yep!
That's our little
SweetCheeks!
Here she is-
Can you pick her out?
She is the tallest one
on her team.
I asked her why
she wanted to play soccer.
she wanted to play soccer.
She said,
Beecuz I lihke to khick things!
uh-oh
Let me tell you though,
that little girl kicked
THREE GOALS
in her first game.
Her Mama asked her if
she ever passed the ball
so someone else could
make a goal.
She said,
Noh-They cahn do that when
I ahm on my breahk!
Oh-Dear!
She is fast and not afraid
of the ball or the
other players.
She runs flat out as fast
as she can.
She runs flat out as fast
as she can.
She is like a little bulldozer.
That MIGHT make you
think she is a tad bit of
a tomboy..
but no...
during her downtime on
the field
she made sure she was
spiffed up for the next
time on the field.
When the back-up players
got called in she came
to sit by me.
I asked her how she was doing.
She said she was
TOOO TIRHED TO TALK!
Let me tell you-
THAT'S a first!
Her sister, Ria, is
playing later this week.
I'm betting she will be fast
and there will be a whole
lot less drama going on...
unless, of course,
SweetCheeks is
there coaching her.

I am not one bit surprised that Miss Sweet Cheeks would be a goal making machine! lol They are so funny when they play soccer at this age.
ReplyDeleteHi Di,
ReplyDeleteThat is so cute, I could just imagine her bulldozzing through all the kids. Good for her, shes so adorable.
xoxo
You must be so proud of her. Sports is so good for them!
ReplyDeletePlaying and coaching, that is Sweet Cheeks for sure. Love her attitude.
ReplyDeleteShes a natural! And too cute....love her spirit....happy playing Sweetcheeks!
ReplyDeletethe right of passage for every American girl these days! We played in PE but it did not go any further than that!
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't stand in her way!
ReplyDeletem.
So funny that the others can do it on her break.....how funny. I bet she is good.
ReplyDeleteGoose played soccer as well. She was so protective of the goal. I guess they don't have goalie's in her age group but she would run and protect it every time. So fun to watch.
Fun times! I love soccer. It keeps kids running and it's such good exercise. I like baseball, too, but I can't call that good exercise. Baseball players spend a lot of time standing in the field waiting for something to happen. Soccer keeps them moving the entire time! (my favorite sport is hockey.... which keeps them moving, too. But not everone gets and opportunity to sign up for that)
ReplyDeleteGood for sweetcheeks!! Sounds like the perfect sport for her! Emma's 8th grade team just finished up their season. It wasn't pretty. I'll probably gloss over that when I finally get around to posting soccer pics.
ReplyDeleteI love it!! We raise confident girls around here too. No wallflowers right?
ReplyDeleteWell, ofcourse she was the one making goals...& you are going to have fun watching her this season..
ReplyDeleteShe is soooo cute and I love what she said about the other kids scoring. When you're good, you're good! That girl has a real future in sports. Let's see, I'm thinking 2024 or 2026 Olympics...
ReplyDeleteJust sayin'.
Sooo adorable Diana!... Sweet Cheeks makes the cutest little tomboy... I was a tomboy too... only way to go... I love her lively spirited ways... must take after her Nana!... xoxo Julie Marie
ReplyDeleteToo cute! I'm a soccer mom and I love the game!
ReplyDeleteWho would have thought that kid could play soccer? What a great thing to stick her in! She is in her element. Now if you can get her to pass and play like a team, she will have learned a really valuable life lesson there. I know its going to take a few games. LOL
ReplyDeleteAt least you found something to use up all that energy she has!
How sweet is that...this girls going to be a real 'go-getter' for sure! She must be a real hoot to hang out with and I bet she appreciates you being at her games. Enjoy it while you can...the time goes by so fast. Enjoy the rest of your week. Maura :)
ReplyDeleteI just love how enthusiastic she seems about everything. It looks like she has inherited her Nana's long legs!
ReplyDeleteHi, I remember when my youngest played soccer-it was such fun until she got older and it got very aggressive physically. Our grands don't play-they have enough fun at home. Have a wonderful weekend and tell your sweet cheeks, great job!
ReplyDeleteHugs, Noreen
You just gave me a "A-HA" moment!! Soccer makes sweetcheeks too tired to talk?! I think I need to sign the twins up!! Oh, what a wonderful day! LOL!
ReplyDeleteKids love soccer and your little gal is a sweetie! You must be so proud!
ReplyDeleteSoccer is good exercise for them...cause they run a lot. My g.daughter plays , she helps other up and dust them off:):) Smiles, xo, Susie
ReplyDeleteAwwww. Sweet Cheeks is a darling girl. She probably will be great at Soccer, because she loves to kick. Too precious. Enjoy watching her play.
ReplyDeleteHow cute! Are you able to watch all the games? Our girls never were interested in playing soccer. Games around here were played on Saturday mornings, and they wanted their Saturday to do as they wished.:)
ReplyDeleteOh how cute! I love it that girls can do anything now...I was "before" girls sports and my girl loved participating.
ReplyDeleteShe's cute as can be. I like the mixture of being tough on the field and a little prissy off the field! What a fun time in her life!
ReplyDeleteMy first born (now 18) used to play soccer through the YMCA. We enjoyed going to the practices and the games. My second child has no interest in sports at all. I miss going to the weekend games. I know you will enjoy it too.
ReplyDeleteWhat fun it must be to attend these games. I sometimes miss all the Little League ball games we went to when our son was young.
ReplyDeleteShe is so cute....love her smile! I can't believe how much taller she is than the rest of the players, wow!
ReplyDeleteAdorable kid! Just plain adorable!
ReplyDeleteWe had a soccer player in our family too and she got a scholarship from playing and is now a teacher and has a tiny son due on July 4th. :):) so...this is a great start for little Sweetcheeks. I love that she is tall enough to really get around on that field. Yep..she's a winner! :)
I love that she's so confident. That will carry her far on life journey. She certainly is cute and has wonderful spirit. I will look forward to hearing about Ria's soccer game too. It's so wonderful that you attend their activities...I'm absolutely positive it means the world to them.
ReplyDeleteNow I know why I liked soccer! I LIKE TO KICK THINS TOO!!
ReplyDeleteShe is getting so big! I don't mean tall either. She is starting to look like a big girl! * tear*
I'm not sure if you owe me an email or not. I can't remember if I wrote you one either!!
xxDaniella
Watch out, boys! Miss Sweet Cheeks can kick!
ReplyDeletelooks like a future soccer star in the making..
ReplyDeleteSo that makes you a soccer Nana. I know they will have lots of fun.
ReplyDeletexo,
Danielle
She is so cute! I agree, a soccer star is in her future! xo ~Liz
ReplyDeleteI am so happy she is playing soccer!
ReplyDeleteMy kids played and I miss it ~ looking forward to seeing more!
I am telling you Sweet Cheeks and Jack are related! He is the soccer king boy. LOVES it! She is going to enjoy it so much.
ReplyDeleteSweet Cheeks is a "Girlie Tomboy." I like that. Very versatile. And I suspect there is always a camera lurking nearby too.
ReplyDeletehow cute is she? love the comment about the others can make a goal when she's on a break!--too funny!
ReplyDeleteI'm just laughing my head off, that Sweetcheeks is a something else!
ReplyDeleteAnd my little wee one doesn't like soccer. She looks for 'daisies' in the grass, running behind everyone else so she doesn't get hurt. We asked her why she doesn't get the lead out of her butt? She told me, 'Don't worry Grandma, I pooped before we came. I just don't like this game, it's a little boring you know, cuz there's only one ball and everyone is trying to play with it at once!'
ReplyDeleteI should take her with me to the garage and Estate sales!
Have a great time with your players!
Hugs,
Donna
You're a soccer Grandma! She looks like she's having fun. It wasn't that long ago that girls weren't allowed to play organized sports. I remember when a girl tried to play Little League and it turned into a national news story. Glad times have changed.
