You've heard of
Tuesdays With Morey?
Well, how about
Wednesdays With SweetCheeks?
On Wednesday
I picked
SweetCheeks up after
her pre-school ended
at 11:30 am.
We usually pop by
Starbucks...
of course we do!
She is always excited to
see me and knows
that she will spend
the afternoon
at
Nana's house,
a place containing
fairies and elves
and treats
(and she got her bangs trimmed
today--shhhh..don't tell her Mom)
She had a question for
me today though.
I thought my answer was
GOOD...
I thought
HER ANSWER
was amazing.
"Nana", she asked,
Why dhoes efveryone stahre aht me?
I don't think they do, SweetCheeks.
Yehs, they DO, Nana!
Ahdults stahre at me and
kids stahre at me
they all stahre at me.
Do yohu know why, Nana?
Because you are an engaging
child, SweetCheeks?
NoH! (insert big disgusted sigh).
I'hm NOT engayged.
They stahre at me because
I
SPARKLE INSIDE
AND
I sparkle outside, too.
They stahre at me because
I am girly and always haffe
bows or flowhers in my haihr
and because I am always
shiny and smiley!
THASSS WHY
everybody stares at me.
Well, I guess she has that
figured out.
Usually when someone is
staring at me it is because
I have a piece of
TOILET PAPER
stuck to my shoe!
That is adorable. Explains now why everyone stares at me too, LOL NOT!
ReplyDeleteWell, she does have something there. She does sparkle for sure and she is one of a kind. I am so glad she is not engaged. Not yet anyway.
ReplyDeleteFrom the mouths of babes.
As long as she is comfortable with it, that's all that counts. Most kids couldn't handle it as well as that. Shoot- most adults either.
Toilet paper on your shoe? Beats a brown spot on your pants!
She's pure charm! Just like her Nana!
ReplyDeleteI was catching up on your last few posts. The event at the school was wonderful!
You and your Hero truly engaging as well!
~Lynne

Sweet cheeks has inspired me to be more sparkly today. I'll let you know how it goes!
ReplyDeleteIf she alredy knew the answer, then why did she ask? I guess it's because she's so girly and sparkley and girly girls love to hear other tell them how girly and sparkly they are. *lol* Or, maybe... she just wanted to make sure YOU noticed. You did notice all of that, didn't you?
ReplyDeleteYears from now when she is with her Grandaughter...she will tell tails of her wonderful Wednesdays spent with you!!
ReplyDeleteHaha! She is too much, Diana! Are you sure people don't stare at you because you are sparkly and shiny on the inside and the outside? : )
ReplyDeleteAhhh, and only special people sparkle like that and she is definetly one of those.

Man oh man, Diana,
ReplyDeleteYou and Sweet Cheeks and me and my little Sweet Heart - two Grandmas and to little mini me's! Shinning from the inside out! I love it! My little one, if I asked her why everyone looked at her, she'd tell me, "Grandma, you know because I have a happy heart, and they know I'm gonna be like you when I grow up!"
Yeah, I'd open my piggy bank any time for her, and she knows it.
Blessings to you and the shinning from the inside little girl! What an answer!
Hugs,
Donna
