If you remember yesterday
I dug through my stash
of fabrics.
to make a purse/tote.
Here It Is!
It feels so good to be
creating with fabric again.
This is just a basic tote
pattern..that I ..ahem..
changed because I
didn't like the way the
pattern played out.
The colors are a little off
in this picture
in this picture
(or maybe it is me?;>)
But the green of the pocket
matches the green in the
paisley exactly.
Here's the top strap.
The self made fabric flower
rests right on the shoulder.
The pocket in front is
perfect to tuck my camera into.
It even looks cute hanging
on a lamp with the sunlight
streaming into the room.
Okay..
Now that I am
BACK AT IT...
I am thinking about making
THIS!
Yeah...Okay
MyHero is probably drooling
into the keyboard reading this
because he is used to seeing me
in this!
And...just so y'all know,
I am lying about making that
ruffled bra and panty set!;>)
Whaddya mean you know that?
I hope you have a great day.
I'll be out sporting my new bag
and pretending it is Spring!
Awesome! You are making me want to get my machine back out again...if I only knew which tote my fabric was in.
ReplyDeleteI have so much to get done today. The house is totally out of hand and things need some major organizing. I also need to blog sometime, too. I've been slacking.
That is simply adorable. LOVE the fabric pattern and color choices. They really compliment one another. Nice job there Diana!
ReplyDeleteThat bag turned out so cute! I love the fabric and the colors and the flower is the perfect little touch.
ReplyDeleteYour purse/tote turned out very pretty. Love the little flower on the strap. I am a sucker for all things paisley though.
ReplyDeleteVery cute...you are good! I love it, the fabric is so pretty and reminds me spring is near.
ReplyDeleteHi Diana,
ReplyDeleteThe bag you made is lovely.
I especially love the color combination.
Those colors pop together so well.
*hugs*

The bag is adorable! just adorable! Everyone is going to want one :)
ReplyDeletebeautiful bag, thats so pretty, love the colors and the flower makes it, so girly girl, perfect.
ReplyDeletethat bra and painties look quite difficult anyway.Hope you had a great weekend, you should make a tote bag to match the girls dresses so they won't lose you, and a vest or bow tie for the mister.
I like it !! the tote is really cute and practical too. Now the girls will want one , and your daughter.:):) smiles, Susie
ReplyDeleteBeautiful job, Diana! I can see the green matches perfectly on my laptop screen. I love the flower you added! If you reconsider that ruffled bra and panty set, I just found out from Jen at Tatertots and Jello that there is pre-ruffled fabric out there! ; )
ReplyDeleteGreat bag. It makes so much sense to make your own, then they have all the pockets that you need, and the right size, and in your colors. Good job.
ReplyDeleteBeautful bag! But - I think you need to make another one just a little bit bigger. One in a red and black pattern with a Mickey Mouse head pocket. One big enough to carry all the neccessities you will need on your trip - and one with room for a souveneer or two. You'll need to be ready, you know!
ReplyDeleteLove the thought of Spring and the reality of that cute purse. What a great mood-lifter, Diana. Good job!
ReplyDeleteI am a "sap" for pinks & greens! I just love that purse!!
ReplyDeleteGreat Job....
Have a Great Day!
Marilyn

Just make sure you model your new Undies for us all. I bet that post will get you a lot of hits!
ReplyDeletem.
The tote is darling, how clever you are! The colors are perfect and from my computer the greens match perfectly. It's very "Springtime"! Re the bra and panty set. I think it's still a little cold where you live to wear that no matter how much it makes Yourhero drool. I'd stick to the long sleeve night if I were you. You are a hoot! Blessings, Tia
ReplyDeleteTHE PURSE TOTE IS SO LOVELY, THE PANTY SET IS SO ROMANTIC,I WILL WEAR IT UNDER ANY THING WARM ? NOT) WE ARE ROMANTIC AT HEART..HAVE A MAGICAL..BLESSINGS..SANDRA
ReplyDeleteGreat tote. Somehow I knew you were not going to make the ruffle set.
ReplyDeleteHahaDiana! I thought you were making a bathing suit for the trip! Do you think your family would lose you if you showed up at the pool in that??

I see you around on different blogs and decided I need to get to know you... Love your little purse...isn't it fun getting back into something that we haven't done for awhile? Have a funfilled day.... xoso Sandy
ReplyDeleteDiana, too funny! I love your purse! You're quite the seamstress! My mom was right! I'm so sorry I didn't let her teach me to sew! Where did you find my night gown? It's so comfy!
ReplyDeleteReally attractive bag, Diana! Around here one doesn't have to pretend "spring." We have had an unseasonably warm winter, and daffodils are even in bloom in some locations around the area! That bag would fit right in!
ReplyDeleteVery nice! I love the pink & green together - so pretty for spring! Thank you for the tip about the blog "Confessions of a Junkyard Cat." I'm on my way over there now!
ReplyDeleteHugs, Cindy
Hey, that gown is more my style, you can whip me up one of those when you run out of projects.....oh yeah, you're kin to me, never out of projects, right sis?
ReplyDeleteI love the tote!!!! Pink and green are my favorite colors, and when they are paired with white, I am in love!
ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty way to tote your groceries or library books.
Hugs,
Patti
That little black ruffled number would be a great valentine surprise for the mister!
ReplyDeleteVERY CUTE! I love the color combo that you picked out for your darling tote bag! Great job.
ReplyDeletewhat a cute little purse!
ReplyDeleteI love the tote! I love the pink and green color combo. Sewing is my first love. I'v been sewing since I was a child. At five yrs old... my mother would let me sit on her lap and feed the fabric through. What a wonderful gift she gave me. You did a great job and thank you for inspiring us.
ReplyDeleteMaybe you should surprise hubby with that bra and panty set for valentines day....just saying.
ReplyDeleteI think the purse is lovely...pink and lime green are my favorite color combo.
I love the colors of your new bag. And oh how I wish I was creative like you. I have a robe just like that...no kidding.
ReplyDeleteYour purse/bag came out GREAT! I love it! Not so much the ruffled bra and panties, but love the nightgown!!! He he he!!
ReplyDeleteThis is another post that didn't come through to me until today, either, Diana! Not that we can do anything about it!
So excited about your sewing again! I will be, too, by the end of the week! I'll share with you my new stash of patterns my daughter in law was able to grab for me in a store closing sale!
Blessings,
Donna
What a fun spring tote! And while you're at it, go for the ruffles!
ReplyDeleteCome on! Go for the ruffles! Hugs, Ginger
